Android is great but the Nexus One is a turd. The battery life is awful, the noise cancelling doesn't work (you sound like you're "underwater" to the person on the other end) and the OLED screen burns in easily and plain sucks for reading text. This phone didn't sell well and I was happy to be rid of mine.

It actually feels like you are doing all on purpose just to fake that iphone is better than the nexus.. I own HTC Desire which is the HTC branded (twin) version of nexus and I really don't know where do you see all these problems.. Voice quality is AWESOME, the screen response is instant for me and it doesn't CRASH like the iPhone. I had it for an year now and I never had a phone crash, NEVER. The battery is a problem, but show me one phone with 1ghz cpu & 3,7 inch screen that does better?

learn how to use the phone before you rate it. back is the close button! and you opened a menu, that's why its not "responsive" and didn't go back. and you were pressing the track ball, not the home button.
android supports widgets which requires a lot more processing to load/scroll than just the plain icons of the iphone.

All android phones are more customizable out-of-the-box than a jailbroken iPhone, almost all of them have better specs than the iPhones, and they look a lot better. iPhones get boring after a few weeks with them. That's why I switch to my trusty t-mobile G1. Yeah it's slow, but it's still wayyy better than an iPhone 4 IMO. I love Apple products but the iPhone was and always will be a complete flop on their part. Android will win the smartphone war for sure.

I'd point out how every argument of yours is incorrect and why android is better... but I feel the first comment is all that is necessary. Almost all of your minor issues have been fixed with android 2.2 (including installing to an SD card) where as all features iOS4 introduced were available on my G1.

This has been the most one sided review I have seen. You need to be objective, even if you have your own preferences. This review has too many inaccuracies for my liking
I feel you needed to learn how to use the Nexus for more than a few days unlike like you have 2 years with the iPhone. You should have learnt how to use the phone or at least admitted that you have not spent enough time to quantify or qualify for writing a review
I feel that you need to learn the functions of a phone you are not used to using before comparing it with a phone you obviously use every day or at least know about.
Once you know how both phones work, then you may be able to give an unbiased review.

People who are in to accessibility and usability notice the kinds of things you mention: How you have to place your hand to turn the device on and/or activate it, sensitivity of the screen to unintentional multi-touch, localization features, etc.

I like the iphone because it supports music better than ive seen any other phone do and use itunes primarily and it seamlessly handles my music and I personally like that. the touchscreen buttons on the bottom of the screen is more responsive if you touch towards the upper part of it. this is because they expect people using the phoen with one hand. so your reaching down to hit the button and therefore they expect you to hit it up a little.
the screen transitions - look at the iphone, its a bunch of little crappy looking buttons meanwhile the n1 has cool widgets that are doing stuff. the battery, you need to install task killer,

Screen responsiveness is very very slow when navigating to the next screens and not smooths at all even though I own/like it I will have to accept it. And yes moving to other screens doesn't work most of the time when your palm touches the screen corner; I had the same complaint. I have seen in many case that the 4 dedicated buttons in the bottom doesn't work most of the times perfectly am am not very sure about your case but for few of my friends it the same.
I acknowledge android can do more in some areas but it takes a lot more steps to do the same thing. E.g facebook u can argue it is the apps fault but apps and phone is one package and iPhone AppStore maintains that quality. Android apps crash a lot more btw.
Having said that some simple things simply cannot be done on android eg most video app does not ultilise the whole screen and you cannot write command on facebook unless you go to browser which is not nice

Cont. Learn to use your phone a bit, you'll find that most of the settings are brought up by the settings button (similarly home button takes you home...). Some of the stuff don't show up on the screen cause theirs buttons for them. I'm not going yo yell at you or anything, but you just haven't unlocked the Nexus's potential
Hard to hold?: i hold my phone with one hand: i use my index finger to press the home button, and thumb to nagivate. NO PROBLEM. You even seem to have longer fingers than me, I don't get your fuss.
Call quality: friends that call me with an iphone, either drop out or the call quality is stuttery... I have to yell and ask them to repeat to get a conversation going.
@FC1032 I did a test. On the iphone: scroll up and down using one finger, then using another finger to touch the right side. You notice the right side will not affect the scrolling. The iphone goes to this much detail to enhance user experience. Cannot say this for the android. Of course you guys can always argue that we should LEARN how to hold the phone.

Regardless of whether this was my android or any other phone, I always only have one touch input on the screen.

Battery life: If you want a fair comparison with iphones battery life: DON'T use the widgets, get rid of the live wallpaper. Use a black background and icons... Thats not even fair to compare normally.

(10) with "froyo" you get apps to SD (plus much more!) giving you more storage, and with the 1GHz snapdragon processor driving the phone it makes the SD card seem as fast as integrated memory on the iPhone.

(12) I'm listening to your video on the Nexus One with the volume quite low..
(7 cont) I'm afraid there is most likely something wrong with the other persons phone. I have done numerous tests with my mother with and without loud speaker, the sound/voice quality on the N1 is crystal, no other phone matches it.
(8) press "back" to go to the front page of Facebook,don't like that one? Use a different FB app then!
(9) there are way better news Widgets and apps than what you have for the N1, actaully try looking next time.
(5 cont) if you try having at the most 2 "widgets" on the iPhone, it would most likely be a lot less finctional than the nexus one.
(6) if you got half battery after no use throughout the night then I'm afraid there may be something wrong with the nexus you are using. My nexus can run days without use, with extensive use I get through the whole day without charge.
(7) the N1 has dual microphones and noise canceling...
(4) In your video you said the home key does not work... you was pressing the trackball not the home key.
(5) you mention how slow things are on the N1 home screen, you might be forgetting that you have over 5 Widgets running in the background, these Widgets will be constantly updating every second and making use of the massive 1GHz CPU and also the RAM. With all that happening on your home screen the N1 was/is still fairly smooth and 100% usable.
(2) the nexus 1 is not an iphone stop trying to treat it like one, you dont press "done" in the youtube app for N1 you press back, or like you did, "menu" then "details" etc.
(3) many have told you in the comments. LISTEN! You have wifi enabled with iPhone but not N1, the reason behind full screen not being there, pluss the N1 has a MUCH more high resolution/definition than iPhone. Anyway like said before you can use the real YouTube now with N1.
Ok robertlam18 you SERIOUSLY need to listent what I/we are saying. Let me start by telling you, you don't deserve a Nexus One... Baisically you just said the Audi R8 is not as good as a BMW 3 series car. You clearly can't handle something that good and you never will.
(1) the YouTube widget/app is almost obsolete now that you can use the actual YouTube website thanks to "froyo" and its flash player integration. This way you get the real FULL experience with youtube, even 1080p full HD.

The N1 has TWICE the resolution of the iPhone and if you were connected to WiFi (like you were on your iPhone) you would have had full screen video on Youtube.

I'd point out how every argument of yours is incorrect and why android is better... but I feel the first comment is all that is necessary. Almost all of your minor issues have been fixed with android 2.2 (including installing to an SD card) where as all features iOS4 introduced were available on my G1.

This has been the most one sided review I have seen. You need to be objective, even if you have your own preferences. This review has too many inaccuracies for my liking
I feel you needed to learn how to use the Nexus for more than a few days unlike like you have 2 years with the iPhone. You should have learnt how to use the phone or at least admitted that you have not spent enough time to quantify or qualify for writing a review

I think most people who trash the iPhone and love the Nexus (Droid, et. al.) don't get the usability argument.
People who are in to accessibility and usability notice the kinds of things you mention: How you have to place your hand to turn the device on and/or activate it, sensitivity of the screen to unintentional multi-touch, localization features, etc.
I get what you say. I agree with the lack of fluidity in scrolling, the button failings, and the ergonomics.

the touchscreen buttons on the bottom of the screen is more responsive if you touch towards the upper part of it. this is because they expect people using the phoen with one hand. so your reaching down to hit the button and therefore they expect you to hit it up a little.
the screen transitions - look at the iphone, its a bunch of little crappy looking buttons meanwhile the n1 has cool widgets that are doing stuff. the battery, you need to install task killer,

Screen responsiveness is very very slow when navigating to the next screens and not smooths at all even though I own/like it I will have to accept it. And yes moving to other screens doesn't work most of the time when your palm touches the screen corner; I had the same complaint. I have seen in many case that the 4 dedicated buttons in the bottom doesn't work most of the times perfectly am am not very sure about your case but for few of my friends it the same.

I acknowledge android can do more in some areas but it takes a lot more steps to do the same thing. E.g facebook u can argue it is the apps fault but apps and phone is one package and iPhone AppStore maintains that quality. Android apps crash a lot more btw.
Having said that some simple things simply cannot be done on android eg most video app does not ultilise the whole screen and you cannot write command on facebook unless you go to browser which is not nice

Cont. Learn to use your phone a bit, you'll find that most of the settings are brought up by the settings button (similarly home button takes you home...). Some of the stuff don't show up on the screen cause theirs buttons for them. I'm not going yo yell at you or anything, but you just haven't unlocked the Nexus's potential

@FC1032 I did a test. On the iphone: scroll up and down using one finger, then using another finger to touch the right side. You notice the right side will not affect the scrolling. The iphone goes to this much detail to enhance user experience. Cannot say this for the android. Of course you guys can always argue that we should LEARN how to hold the phone.

Regardless of whether this was my android or any other phone, I always only have one touch input on the screen.

Ok, First off, I think most of the stuff you've highlighted as "problems" are just learning curves...
Not surprisingly, my friends all use iphones/ipod touches. Nexus one hands DOWN.
I'll address a few things you brought up:
Battery life: If you want a fair comparison with iphones battery life: DON'T use the widgets, get rid of the live wallpaper. Use a black background and icons... Thats not even fair to compare normally.

(5) you mention how slow things are on the N1 home screen, you might be forgetting that you have over 5 Widgets running in the background, these Widgets will be constantly updating every second and making use of the massive 1GHz CPU and also the RAM. With all that happening on your home screen the N1 was/is still fairly smooth and 100% usable.

By that guy saying "using it like an iPhone" he meant you use both phones in different ways. You can't expect the same exact performance on both phones. Each one has their own way of doing things. Google felt their way of doing things was better as did Apple. Both phones are good (I prefer Android) but you can't say one is better because the other one can't do the same exact thing.

@EmoGamer I just tried froyo and flash 10.1, it is not a pleasure browsing with flash. The screen is so sluggish. You cannot press the screen properly. No wonder Steve Jobs exclude it from Iphone.

The N1 has TWICE the resolution of the iPhone and if you were connected to WiFi (like you were on your iPhone) you would have had full screen video on Youtube.
Also if you just pressed MENU you could have left a comment. LOL
Its funny cuz throughout this while video you simply just don't know how to USE an N1. Its not an iPhone. They are DIFFERENT. Hahaha...

The homescreen I will give you isn't as smooth as the iPhone.
Facebook is just ONE app. You were using the crappy one. There's a MUCH better one called Bloo. Should have tried that. Has nothing to do with the phone. ITS AN APP! LOL
Apps to SD is now available with Android 2.2
And I don't think you searched the Market hard enough for a good Stocks app. I'm sure there are plenty.
There have been COUNTLESS reviews from credible sites and EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. has said the N1 is better. No contest.

BTW I tried loads of different ways but seems they is no other way except to wait for next version or to root it. ahahahahah, i think you just can't get enough of your iphone. you don't want to leave it. iphone os is not like android os. iphone os is directed for a different audience, smartphone users. you got just to used to the iphone, you don't make space for other options. my final opinion is that i know the n1 isn't perfect for everyone, it depend on what you are looking for in a phone.
