Jeffrey was put to justice (and In know he was murdered in prison), but it doesn't help the fact police helped him kill that boy (because they gave him back to him, despite the blood from his body.

This movie doesn't accurately represent Dahmer's personality around others at the time of the murders. In this scene with his neighbor, he's portrayed as rude and obnoxious when in fact he was known to be externally friendly and charming.

In fact, his smooth, genial, and affable demeanor was what enabled him to fool so many people. Psychiatrists call it the mask of sanity, and it seems absent in this film. Here, he just acts like a jerk.
