there is a 19 pitch 5 blade stainless steel prop on it now but water is quite shallow so if the stainless steel prop hits anything it might damage the engine/drive shafts.
will a 21 pitch standard 3 blade prop make the boat faster top end..?
@quemming , It depends on the prop hub. All the newer hubs are like the flow torque II and are designed to break before they do damage to the shaft and lower unit. My understanding is that the older style rubber hubs can transfer the energy before the break free (spun prop). You will see both types in the video.
@Kawasakiatv1234 , I find it does bit a bit better in a hole shot and on tight corners but I loose a bit on the top speed and my RPM has gone up about a bit over 5000.
Hi radarabby. I do notice that the boat accelerates more quickly but I don't think the difference is as dramatic as I first expected. My RPM climbs to 5100 and top speed on the speedo dropped from 48 mph to 46 or so (less on GPS). I agree with others on the Bayliner Owners Club forums that it seems to dig better in sharp corners. I needed a 2nd prop and got this used one on-line so that's the way to go. I'm in Canada and they cost much more here.
I have the same boat and I was wondering if you could tell me how much better the new prop is. How much more pick up and how much top end lost?-Thanks
Thanks for the lesson helps nice vid
