@authentichuman I have a buddy who would relate to that. He unfortunately underestimated the recoil, and accomplished two things on his first ever shot:
1 - Ended up with a very visible, ring shaped bruise around his right eye.
2 - Forced me to send my scope back for warranty work. Thankfully it had a lifetime warranty
@BLOODMONEY2121 It cost me right at $2,100 after shipping, taxes and FFL transfer fee. It comes with the bipod, scope mounts and pelican hard case. I was originally looking at an AR-50 however that was going to run me about $3200 with no scope mount, bipod, case, or even muzzle brake. And why anyone would ever even consider firing such a gun without a muzzle brake is beyond me. Even at $2400 its still a good deal when compared to some other 50s.
back pressure is a bit overwhelming for the first few rounds hehe and ever here of the movies tremors they have that gun in if i remember 2 and 5 anyway search this:
@masterofnotmuch Yeah the recoil isn't that bad, similar to about a .308 I'd say, but the gun still manages to shake you pretty well. And this is the "big gun" that Burt has in the 2nd Tremors movie as well. I haven't seen the 3rd or 4th Tremors, I'll have to take a look at that.
Thanks for the comments guys. This is now the #1 video when searching for "Grizzly Big Boar" on Youtube and Google Videos. I can't go to the range without getting mobbed by people asking about it. People ask me all the time "why do you need something like that?". I know its a ridiculous gun and serves virtually no purpose in the non-military world, but its awesome to shoot =).
You could hunt grizzly bears, and giant moose...not to mention several other very LARGE game animals (that you may or may not be invested in actually hunting)
@Chris9450 I read an article in one of the gun mags (can't remember what one) where they were using .50 BMG rifles for long rang hunting. They were taking out elk and moose at 600+ yards out! Uses for a .50 BMG #1. Long range big game sniper! lol
@13098519 Absolutely! Everytime I go to the range, there's atleast one person who has to say "What do you need that for". And then there's the all too prevalent witty comment about needing to shoot a jumbo jet out of the air. Some people just don't "get it", but I gladly shake the hands of the people who do.
That's what prison gaurds have now at high security. My uncle is a tower gaurs and he uses them. They have to shoot in the legs other wise they could get in trouble.
SEARCH FOR "50 BMG VS DEER" if you wanna see a deer get slated with an LAR Grizzly!!
