Alsmot everything I've seen here is available in OS X Leopard. You can also create file/folder stacks, drag&drop actions like sending stuff etc. It's not 3D and I'm wondering is 3D view actually helping the user or distracting him?

um... i think that was my point. this 3d desktop is not better then the 2d one. there is no innovation here. people seem to have this inane fascination with anything 3d. it's just a bunch of slightly entertaining tricks that will quickly become an annoyance. i am sure if real usability studies were done the findings would show the average user's efficiency in file management would decrease. i am all for rethinking the desktop metaphor, but this not a good proposal. and, it is fugly.

3d will be fine as long as it productive, and tons of 3d visualizations before failed with productivyti. this one ir really productiove, at least I really have a big mess on my desktop, I need MORE space, I need walls, I need grouping of icons but not directories. Anyway I need tons of stuff about it. hardest thing I dream of its voice commands,

If it struggles with a cam recording, i dread to think how it would react to running multiple programs !?

Lets say im browsing with mutiple tabs, while downloading and simultaneously listening to an mp3 playlist, while various processes are running in the background.

I've got about 2gb of ram, and a 2ghz amd processor on an Asus k8v motherboard.

Its pretty clean, well installed and stripped for performance, would i struggle with this ?

I use WinXp by the way.

I doubt that you would, it runs smoothly with Counter Strike being minimized. I often have many programs open along with Firefox with like 12 tabs open simultaneously.
