To all who have posted about the type of dancing this is. My name is karl quayle and i am the lead in this video dance. i have been dancing modern jive 7 years now and have been involved in ballroom, argntine tango, salsa, break dance, and blues. one style i have not been involved in is west coast swing. I tryed it. My mother and i were at a lindy hop place and were asked to show the style of dance 'we' do so we did. We also teach blues in wich is why the lady may have called it blues. thanks
I djay West Coast Swing dances up in Toronto, Canada. After watching the clip 4 times I noted: your mother stayed in "the slot", you crossed "the slot", & at 0:05 you led a basket whip - all major components of WCS. The fact that your mother did not do a traditional anchor step was the giveaway.
But now I am confused as your post was not clear (to me) - was this Modern Jive or Smooth Lindy or neither?
@krazy123karl If you haven't done West Coast Swing, you're half-way there. Most people would identify this as a hybrid of Lindy and WCS. Definitely not bues dancing.
(I've taught Lindy (10+ years), WCS (10+ years) and Blues (5+ years)
Regardless, I really just want people to have fun ...and it's super awesome that you ave that kind of relationship with your Mom!
Not blues-but nice smooth lindy or swing-so list it appropriately. Do yourself a favor and put blues dancing in the search and you will see exactly what we are talking about. Blues dancin' is slow and very sensual, if not downright, sexual. Check it out.
Sorry, don't know who sent you this as advertising. We just archive all the footage from our events onto youtube since we've nowhere else to put it, and our members can get to it here. Apologies if this was forwarded to you as advertising. If you've no interest in dancing you certainly won't appreciate any of our videos
I wouldn't call that Lindy. looks more like West Coast to me.

As the name of the venue suggests, they are not blues dancing, but are doing the Lindy Hop. Tags and title mislead.

@ArthurJdid I defer to the far more developed opinion of @msm2you . That was just my first hunch. But I do know it's not blues.

Hmm, not quite blues, not quite lindy, not quite west coast. Fun fusion though!

Very nice, but I agree with noname and littlefeet.

'fraid it isn't blues. It's looks to me like West Coast Swing or Modern Jive.

I don't understand how this is blues dancing... it's west coast. The song isn't even a blues song - it's a swing song - Ella Fitzgerald.

Advertising through You tube is Very pathetic and i dont appreciate junk mail with links to this "Waste of time" Rubbish.
If i wanted to dance i'd go to a club.
Thanks.
