Very nice. I have learned a little from Mr Rajan Parrikar's impressive website, but with "obvious to even freshly born-babies" he is patently having a giraffe.
Tilak Kamod and Des are very different. Ascent is the same for Des and TK, however in descent, TK moves in the order of Sa Pa, (Sa straight to Pa without Dha or Ni) so it goes..Sa Pa Dha Ma Pa Ga, Re Ga Sa.
Clear distinction happens on the descent and erases the mood of Des. but like a wonderful surprise, one mus reach for Dha on the descent. It is a very subtle element and used very sparingly. Hope this helps! This is a beautiful recording.
@themynahbird1 - True, but as you said some, only some similarities are there - at the least because both are of same that. Both are very beautiful, melodic ragas. Hats off to those who composed these immortal works.
beautiful Raag, The basic swars of this raag is Pa, Ni,Sa, Re,Ga,Sa. I think Bharat Kamat is on Tabla and Pramod Marathe is on Harmonium. Thanks for uploding.
Listening to it makes one feel as if one is riding on a raft gently bobbing down a river that is receiving a vigorous massage from brisk breezes. One's entire being is invigorated with joyful spiritual stirrings. Thanks, SJ.

she is using both nishads so it sounds more like Desh. Also her niyaas on the shudh nishaad is uncharacteristic of Tilak kamod. does not work for me.
