  • after i watched this video, my insight is very open because the video is very good to give information Army MOS 18X Special Forces

  • I am very happy to see the vidoe Army MOS 18X Special Forces after you give this

  • Nice Video Army MOS 18X Special Forces That You Share , So Very Nice Thanks You

  • I Really Like The Video Army MOS 18X Special Forces From Your

  • Your Video Army MOS 18X Special Forces Is Very Useful Sharing

  • do they teach you how to swim?

  • but my mommy said im special

  • there's only two things that fall out of the sky, fools and bird shit

  • Too bad I'm physically incapable of this lol. I'll be happy just to earn my parachutist badge XD

  • I've read Dick Couch's book and it just looks awful the first half of training. I've met with a special forces officer and he is my inspiration for wanting to be a part of these guys. "It's 70% mental and you can do anything you put your mind to. Except learning Arabic. That sucked"

  • funny how you have to be a dude to get in

  • Haha 18X soo many bad things I've head about it. If you fail you automatically go to 11B, its nearly impossible to become a SF if you just enlisted you must be like a super soldier. Plus I've met some SF soldiers and they said they like people with previous experience rather than someone out from the streets. If you really want to go to the SF join the 101st or 82nd or another airborne division.

  • @redkong4 are you even in the army?

  • @willymywonka It doesn't really change my answer does it? I've met people in the SF before.

  • @redkong4 Just someone saying join the 101st as an airborne division is hilarious. Stop recommending things if you're not in the army.

and you can't just join a certain brigade, like you have a choice

  • @willymywonka I don't think he's telling people to join those divisions in particular. I think he meant just try to go airbourne infantry. Though his not being in the army, made him sound like an idiot.

  • they make it look so easy on video, but you have to be like a super human to become one

  • Adventure! Foreign Travel! Blowing the shit out of global assholes!

  • YOU ALSO HAVE A HIGH RATE OF DEATH TO LOOK FORWARD TO! SAY YAY TO DEATH.

  • @sleep7887 death is inevitable

  • This shit aint got nothing on 21k MOS.

  • @princeigor1122

LOL, you said shit and plumber in the same sentence...

  • @princeigor1122 ROFL that is the best comment all year

  • All you kids who think SFAS is primarily about being able to run fast, or do a lot of pushups are sadly mistaken. A 28 or 29 year old father of two with some life experience under his belt, a couple kids, and preferable 4+ years of prior service is going to run half as fast as you, but get through. This is a mental game more than a physical game.

  • when i'm done high school i will go to ranger school because you will learn alot of skills thenwhen i get well i will go to sf .

  • @tfhgw921 ranger school is a leadership course. i would recommend actually becoming a ranger by going infantry, then airborne school, then RASP.

  • @47lilwill i don't get it .you mean not a good idea to be first ranger.school.

  • @tfhgw921 going to ranger school and being a ranger are two different things. most rangers choose to go to ranger school and u can if u want but im just recommending becoming a ranger and getting some experience to anyone who wants to be in SF.

  • again the average age of an ODA is about 32 or so. SF is a great field for the right people. The issue is that 18X reels in a lot of young kids who do not have the tools mentaly, acedeicaly or physicaly to complete the training. Remember after all the run jump shoot crawl ect... stuff there is also the DOD language school....I have some students who I have told to go 18X so they can be sure that they get a slot at the BAC.

  • @jazzman3071 I am 26 and just enlisted, so this is partially reassuring.

  • Man forget this job, it ain't worth it. I was a tanker (19K). I remember at reception before Basic/OSUT began, a lot of guys were bragging about becoming Special Forces and all that. Fast forward through incredible amounts of Army BS to our units: No one wanted to do that crap anymore. There were posters about trying out for SF, but who would want to LIVE A CRAPPY LIFE like that? And it's so cold out there, haha. So yeah, alot of these kids thinking it's like a real life video GAME are confused.

  • @BURNINGRIOT That's pretty much the truth of it. It's something we call "Soldier Burnout" and once you're fed up with the Big Army BS (which doesn't take long, especially if you're in the infantry) you no longer give a flying F about SFAS, instead, all you want to do is ETS, which I did. lol

  • wait so you HAVE TO be in the army for 5 YEARS (60 months) before you can join special forces???? well i guess that isnt too bad since i will be enlisting at age 18 and joining SF at age 23....in fact I might just wait until 25 or 26 because that is when a human is in top physical condition

  • @LakeMonsterToMo no, you must enlist for 5 years, as in, you sign an 18x contract which is an automatic 5 years enlistment. This means that if you fail out of any part of Special Forces training, you will serve the remaining time of your enlistment as infantry. I believe you can reapply to try SF again but that is what they mean here in the video.

  • this is what ive wanted all my life, i dont want to be a regular army guy they are so immature and average im the type of guy who always looks to be the best at everything i do, this job is for me! 6 more months of training and ill be more than ready ill have my associates and be physically trained.

  • @ChristianSoldi3r Haha no... its nothing like "lighter ranger version". We had combat controllers, jtacs, and tacp's attached to us in Afghanistan. They do exactly what the title says... control. Aircraft, fires, etc. Basically a glorified Forward Observer which in my opinion is all I need by my side. Not some lazy Airforce punk who eats all my MRE's and sits in the damn truck. Atleast I've trained with my FO and trust him with my life.

Good luck though. Pretty sweet when shit goes boom.

  • I have the scores to do this.

    One problem though.

    I can't swim xD

  • @Ericlikespi2 well you better take some lesson's and learn if you are truly serious!!

  • what part of that looked easy? did you see the looks of agony on their faces? i'm aware of what i asked for when i asked for this M.O.S. Shit's hard. i asked for it.

  • it looks too easy in this vedio but the thing isn't easy to be spical force.

  • @tfhgw921

You're right, SF isn't as easy as elementary school English class.

  • @ChristianSoldi3r Firstly, congratulations. Secondly, not to rain on your parade but Tactical Air Control Party isn't a special operations MOS. You could start there and be on your way though. If you're thinking of what USED to be TAC-C, that's a different story (Tactical Air Combat Controller - now I think just Combat Controller, but I'm not sure).

  • Go Pvt Contract - If you are going for the money.

  • @GhostDog65 yes, because you are a contractor...

  • the 18x and 11b option 40 contracts are genius. Get a bunch of kids to enlist believing they will become tier 3 and 2 operators but in reality they will wash out and be used to reinforce and increase 11b ranks. Instant gratification has become our main weakness in our time.

  • @zcxvasdfqwer1234 i'm a prior enlisted, and i just went back to the recruiter to get back in and he did the only thing available is the 18x option special forces, i figured that is main goal is to just have guys drop out and put them where they wanted them. at least i don't have to go to basic again. lol, and i get to keep my rank.

  • I feel bad for the young cats that think they are SF material and fail and end up in an MOS they hate. The average age of and SF operator in an ODA is about 32...My best advice to anyone seeking an SF slot is to spend 4+ years in a combat arms MOS in an Airborne unit and then tryout after you have some skills built up.

  • @jazzman3071 i agree with you. hot shots thinking they can make it then have their dreams crushed. most of the kids that try out are not even close to mature enough to be in an ODA

  • @jazzman3071 well said man. A lot of people go into the Navy to be seals, or swcc, or the Airforce for PJ or SERE instructor, then end up with a crappy job, and hating their branch of service. Always best to go into something first, that way if you wash out, you have a job to fall back on.

  • @jazzman3071 What do you mean MOS that they hate? 18X are trained as 11B until they complete the Q course. Most people come in with the wrong attitude and think that Special Forces are nothing more than high speed life taking machines. Your age on the average ODA operator is off.

  • @jazzman3071 yea man, thats what iv thought. I figured id go Airborne Infantry for a couple of years, then take a look at the Airborne Rangers, when im ready :D. thats a great piece of advice you got their.

  • Man i gotta say that whole bit about a soldier already in the army having such an advantage over civies coming into sf is bullshit. it doesnt matter if you are a soldier or a fucking secretary the ability to achieve what you want isnt an enlisted quality, it is a quality of the human spirit. I know your not going to tell me that if i enlist as an xray that im not going to make it, i achieve my goals no matter how great or how much suffering they may bring in the journey. I am a man, going 18x..

  • @MXpatdabakerXM Hell yeah. Me too. August 8th, Bennings for 11b TNG. Then 18x after that. Most exciting thing in the world to me!

  • @MXpatdabakerXM no its partly true, as a soldier you are more likely to be physicaly prepared for the type of training SF prospects will be subject to. yes you are right, the mentality is key to most everything you do in life, but it doesn't mean shit if your muscle groups fail or you get a stress fracture because you're not used to such a physical task.

  • @MXpatdabakerXM i wish you luck. Being a former 18B i can tell you that the wash out rate is higher for those of you coming in as a secretary. I was in 4 years then went to SFAS. Like I said rudy I wish you luck. OBTW rudy is short for Rudy Pooh - you punk - the SF instructors will eat your ass up and spit you out -don't be so confident that you are cocky cause like what has been said when the bullets start flying it isn't a fucking video game anymore.

  • @MXpatdabakerXM

lmao....If I had a dollar for every person I'd met with your attitude...

  • @jackalofdeath

HUH? obviously yo dont know anything The people who enlist directly into this have a 90% fail rate compared to like 50% fail rate of soldiers in the army

and the 90% of people that dont make it go back to Infantry??? lol your retarded

i would rather have expeirence first then tryout and only need one try FAG

  • @shalkacte cool story bro

  • @mtmjb44 Im in the ARMY and i know to be SF is hard im just saying this video makes it seem so easy. Only if people only knew how really hard is it.

  • Yeah this video makes it look really simple but believe me IT'S NOT!!! Youtube ''2 Weeks in Hell" and watch it. It's the training to become selected. It's intense and anyone considering becoming part of the Special Forces should watch it to get an idea of what the training will be like.

  • No shit you get promoted to sergeant when you become a special operator??

  • @TheMarksmenCat Yes. You're promoted to Sergeant upon successfully completing the special forces training / selection.

  • when i'm done high school i will go SF.that is my fucken dream.lolthen i will lose my fucken leg so how i'm ganna play soccer?????????????

  • This is what im eventually going for. Kiddos listen up.

Get some experience first. Enlist into combat arms preferably with airborne. Then reenlist with this/ to get sent to the selection. You will know what your doing and have a much better chance

  • @jdmKemosabe a whole load of horse shit, the recruiters will tell you that crap because they know youll be a big sucker and sign up for the most unwanted MOS in the entire armed forces.

  • I hope most of you kids know the 18X program is a recruiting tool for Army Infantry right? Most SOPC kids (18X) dont even make it past SFAS.....

  • @Texashog74 (It is at the least a guaranteed way to get 11b, being that those who sign up for infantry are considered 11x, possibly becoming 11b or 11c.) (Everyone wants 11b, anyone who gets assigned to 11c is usually verrryyy bitter.

  • @GhettoNerd88 thats true...but i tell u what....i love how we have our 11C...and not some other specialty MOS

  • @Texashog74 Ehh, I'm sure its great... I want 11b though =/

The route of my whole armed forces career will be determined depending on whether I get 11b or 11c. I mean it literally will determine whether I go for SF when I am eligible (too young), ocs, and shoot for O-3 or O-4, OR, I fulfill my 4 year active duty obligation and that being it. I doubt I'll get any special consideration just because of that though. haha

  • @GhettoNerd88 two of my good friends were 11C in the 10th mountain...both of them are currently in group..(Special forces) i was 11B my self but being a 11C wont hold u back at all

  • i laugh my ass off when i hear 16 year old kids saying that sf training isnt shit ha try humping around a 80 pack first then talk!

  • Guys its just not that easy, trust me! There is a lot of training material left out within those two years of becoming a Army SF. Even when you graduate your still training to be combat ready for deployment. My advice is to excel in school, read a few books on military strategy (Art of War is a starters), and begin doing push ups , situps, pull ups, and mile runs.

  • ARMY people are big time under paid. Over the years their rank structure has been made a mess of too. The number of officers ought to be lowered down to 25% of where it is now. That thing about veterans being sought after in the civil labor force was not true in the early 1990s, and I have no reason to suspect that it is true now.

Early promoting to sergeant is ill advised, and the SF incentive bonus is way too low. It used to be only corporals or above were allowed to try out for SF.

  • Enlistment: US ARMY

    MOS: 25S

    SHIPPING DATE: 06/27/2011

  • I know. Is it really that easy?

  • Is it really that easy? Just tell the recruiter you want to be in special forces and they'll get you started with selection?

  • @burstactionrevolver Its easy to sign up for but making it in is extremely difficult. You have to score high on your ASVAB, make it through OSUT then Airbounre, then SOPC I which weeds out alot of recruits, then SFAS which is three weeks of Hell on Earth that most people VW from, then the Q course, then, alot of other training including SERE...... its not easy and most people do not succeed. You have to not only be athletic, but also mentally strong as well as as leader.

  • What if your an officer?

  • Minimum age??

  • @egolden315 21 years old

  • SF.... It's my dream to be apart of that. I just got my mos today, 19D. Cavalry scout. Just turned 18... I have to get spec. Forces. The Army is gonna be my career.

  • @OUSOONER918 make sure you enjoy it first before you make it a career. Some people love it, some people hate it. Good luck.

  • in the video did i just see a headhunters sign my step dad was one from what he has told me and he was a marine though im a JROTC cadet

  • ill take my apache and hellfire missiles thank you

  • Afghanistan is America's Vietnam.

  • @justicepartyuk What??? us was in vietnam, and us is still in afghanistan... youmean afghanistan was russias vietnam

  • @justicepartyuk ummm.....

  • 16 months or 60 ?

  • @hecka591aassddeewwqq 60months or 5 years

  • @hecka591aassddeewwqq dude regual basic and AIT are roughly 4-6 months...and the video said UP to 2 years of training what makes you think they will let you enlist for only 16months.

  • @BaneOfFreeSpeech yeah dumb question lol

  • 1.10 GPA to enlist! Most soldiers are dum!

  • @USMCxZamora It didn't say GPA, It said GT score. A GT Score of 110 would be something a 4.0 student would have to work hard for

  • @USMCxZamora no 110 GT score. the GT was a test the military used to use to determine your abilitys and was on a scale of 0 to 150 but that has been replaced by the ASVAB test

  • @USMCxZamora you don't have to be smart to hold a gun and shoot things.

  • @BaneOfFreeSpeech no... but you have to be smart in order to survive out there :)

  • @USMCxZamora

USMC huh? You can't spell or use English grammar properly.

Best of all, you failed to understand something so carefully put before your feeble mind...

You're one of the guys who'd boast about a 31 GT.

Yeah... The SF isn't for you, buddy.

  • This is the fucking recruiter video off of that damn AKO that never works for me. Haha cool beans.

  • so if you aren't selected you still have 60 months in the army...

  • @sandwinaGB Unless Infantry is your second choice, apply for the SF after you've established your MOS. You typically sign a 5-6 year contract if you do special forces candidate off the bat, but if not selected you're infantry for the remainder of your contract because you finished infantry training as part of special forces training.

  • THey have age limits? or MOS restrictions to apply?

  • What's the age limit and minimum? they have any waivers for age, or MOS?

  • i know i will one day be one

  • @24thHeartless better start running your ass off

  • They make it look so simple here

  • @smurf039 They always do to try to up the recruiting stats :). No recruiter is going to show you the failout rates of special forces :).

  • @smurf039

if you knew anything at all about the military you'd know that this doesnt sound easy

  • FUCK SPECIAL FORCES!! 1/75 is a better way to go...

  • @whatvever1 Ranger?

  • @whatvever1 whats wrong with you dude, its all the same team,

  • "Extra pay." Does anyone joining give a shit about the money? It's one the best jobs on the in world.

  • @Oxstayne i would say most people enlisting are interested in only a few things... kids out of highschool want the MGIB for college, people want to "travel" the world, and the others want a big bonus and a good MOS so they can support their family and have good job training when they get out of the military.

  • only a few select people actually have what it takes and the commitment to just enlist and go SF and most of those are right out of highschool or people already in the military who get bored with their MOS

  • @Oxstayne it's just an added bonus. if you have any money you dont want, then i would be happy to take it off your hands

  • lol they forgot to mention special missions require specially getting shot.

  • @Sllygoose13 thank you, I hope to be in the special forces one day but i am more interested in combat and not so much training other forces.

p.s. thank you for your service

  • @AFrameStudios If you're interested in combat, SF is where you want to be. Training other forces is a must because you deploy with 10 - 12 man teams, in hostile territory far away from any big Army outpost. You train up ANA so you have a force multiplier, but I can guarantee you will see combat. You won't be so interested in it when the rounds start coming. I can gurantee that too.

  • @sllygoose13 No one likes combat, and every SF unit in the world in deployed deep behind enmy lines.

  • @sllygoose13 I am looking at multiple jobs in multiple branches.Since Im guessing your a Soldier or Ex-soldier.What do you think about the CCT of the Airforce? And Green Berets are behind enemy lines, are Army Rangers as well? or in a larger more fordified Base.

  • @VBH8888 I am former SF, went in on the first batch of 18x's back in 02. CCT's are good, they are normally attached to an ODA or a SEAL team. They go to all the cool schools because they never know what exactly they'll be doing. Most get HALO, SCUBA, etc. so if you're looking for the fun, I'd go that route. Rangers it depends. They work with SFODD most of the time. You'll be subjected to more of the big army type stuff, which is why I chose SF, more freedom. Good luck.

  • Comment removed

  • @sllygoose13 Wait, so does that mean that I become a sergeant right after boot camp?

  • @comedyguy911 No. You graduate basic as an E3 or E4 if you have college (although that may have changed). You don't pin on E5 until you're finished with the SFQC. You have to attend BNCOC and PLDC first.

  • @sllygoose13 It still works that way. 48 credits will get you an E3 rank, and 36 (I think?) will get you an E2 pay grade.

  • @TKMSeznam12 its 24 gets you E2

  • @comedyguy911 that means after graduating as an SF (which takes at least a year or so) you become a E5 so yes a sarge. But you do go through alot of schooling and training to get there and i dont know anymore now but you used to have to go through some type of NCO school for a while too...

  • @SqueekyBootsShine @sllygoose13 Yea, sorry about that, I meant to put in after SF training. Thanks for the info man, hopefully I make it in.

  • @SqueekyBootsShine Yea BNCO, but after they make you take ANCO anyways o.O

  • @SqueekyBootsShine

If you're not BNOC phase 2 qual'ed you'll go to CLT which certifies the classroom portions for WLC/BNOC. After Tactics, MOS, and SAGE you'll get credit for BNOC. So the next leadership school for an SF guy is ANOC @ E6(p)/E7.

  • @sllygoose13 amen to that

  • @sllygoose13

They get to un-blouse their pants and have beards too.

  • Ok can some one answer a question for me, i am slightly confused on this whole special forces deal. Do these soldiers see a lot of action as in combat, or is it mostly helping out other countries and training them?

    thanks,

  • @AFrameStudios Depends on which Group you go to. Right now many of the Groups are combat deployed, alot. You will run some training exercises with host nations JCT's (joint combined training) but for the most part you'll be in the sandbox. SF will train host nation forces such as Afghan National Army (ANA) and then work with them daily on combat missions. - Former 3rd Group team member.

  • @AFrameStudios Both.

  • I heard that you need to be in the service first, and then you get the option of going special forces. is that true? I am going in 19D, and also heard that cav scouts are the most likely to qualify for special forces. not sure how true this is, any one got more info?

  • @KoTakaMrBoom No. You can go in as SF option, that's what this whole video is about 18X program. Check with your recruiter for requirements. I was in the first crop in 2002, then you could be 18, now I believe the age is 21. No one MOS likely qualifies you for SF. It's up to the individual, I've seen Ranger Batt guys fail where truck drivers succeeded. If any MOS/Unit will help...it will be Ranger Batt. Period.

  • @sllygoose13 ah. well, yea, didnt know how true that would be.... stuff you hear from other people. well, it dont really matter neways - Im not 21. just wanted to check the info :)

  • I hope to graduate from west point and then become a green beret

  • @SquiggleBlossom Train yourself to perform maximally, on every level, with little to no sleep.

  • im enlisted as 18x and leave april 12th.. my recruiter finally told me today that you have to pass the apft before you ship to benning. its been 2 months now that ive been enlisted, ive been pting with my recruiter twice a week and up-ed it to 4 but it would have been nice to know that info when i enlisted.. for any other 18x, you only need a 180 on the apft prior to basic but at the end you need 229 in order to keep your mos...

  • don't you have to be 20 for the 18x? im not sure if i could wait that long, id just be sitting around for 2 yrs doing some stupid job.

  • @gotohellbitches

as far as pt goes you need to be concerning yourself with 1 thing and that isn't the difference between 180 and 229.

its how far past 300 can i get?

not trying to be a dick, i'm trying to prepare you.

not only do you need to max your apft, you need to be conditioned to be able to max it again. same day. that is a conservative requirement.

you are going to get drained at sfas and the q course and you need to be ready so that it isn't as much of a shock.

  • @gotohellbitches Well WHAT HAPPENED?!?!

  • Totally sorry to have offended you. I'll keep my mouth shut and naïveté out of the knowledge base of YouTube from now on then.

  • I just signed up for 18x two weeks ago. I ship to Benning on June 22nd. I was the only one at MEPS even getting an airborne physical. As far as I know 18x is the only contract to get rapid promote to SGT. Make sure anything you want is in writing in your contract. Otherwise its not a guarantee. If you want to be a Ranger, ask for the 11X Option 40 to get into RIP. Still working on a 300 for my APFT. If you think youre already fast or strong, get faster and stronger. Any questions, message me.

  • In the amount of time it takes to get your long tab, several guys you go to Basic with will already have a deployment and be ranked to SGT before an 18x.

  • @rpavlinich

the best advice i've seen here for the youngsters.

  • @rpavlinich I wanna to sign up to go be SF in 4 years when I graduate from college. Right now, I'm 5'10'' and about 127 lbs. I know that's thin. I've got no fat, and it's all bone, skin, and muscle. I'm already good at cardio because I run cross country and track and am one of the better runners. What I was wondering was how much I should weigh for my height? Assuming I don't get any fat on me, how much should I weigh (with muscle mass) going into SFAS? What's the average if you know? Thanks

  • @TB0NA im ex military i worked on special forces base my last 1.5 years in the service, listen up

5'10 127 pounds is fucking anorexic, they wont take you at that weight.

cardio means jack shit, its just something that is criteria for a course, there is no emphasis on it, you either make the time or you dont, anyone reasonable will make the times

they dont care about runners, weight or height, unless you have some defect, you will get in

  • @Jackalofdeath Thanks for the information man. I appreciate it. I've been intensely training and gained 5 pounds my first month. After 4 years of me training like this I hope I will be in the physical and mental shape required by this type of profession. Thanks again

  • @TB0NA the only thing they want you to do is pass the requirements, and have common sense, and not look like a complete idiot, they need people who were "born for this", people who are naturally built, people who are quick on their feet and fast acting

if you arent most of those things, dont bother youll just end up screwed over, spec ops is how they sucker all the idiots into joining the military, once you fail they screw you over with a bad rating/job, yes they do reassign your MOS

  • @Jackalofdeath I am reasonably certain that if you fail out of the 18X program at any time you will be reassigned to an Airborne Infantry unit and will definately revert back to a standard 11B. They would not spend more moeny to send you to another MOS school when you already went thru for Infantry...

  • @jazzman3071 yes, if you fail SF School, you become rugular infantry.

a smart way to go is to choose another MOS, go through basic, then ask if there are any openings in SF and see if you can fill a slot. then if you end up failing, you get sent back to your orginal MOS that you choose.

  • @JoeRapstar You seem to have your shit squared away in terms of 18X and general army.. This isn't a "let's see how much you know question" but rather I am actually curious.. I'm at a military college, on track to commission when I graduate. In this snippit of 18X, they mentioned one owuld be SGT upon graduation.. If I am a 2LT, does it matter?

  • @NavySEALs523 you mean in relation to joining SF? I honestly don't know. I would assume that you could still join SF, and with your Officer Training, you could be a Squad Commander or something along those lines. but like i said I don't know much about that relationship. and thanks for the complement man, the Military is something thats always had my attention. but alas, I'm not 18X. I'm 25S leaving for basic at Big Benn April 4th. then on to Ft. Gordon for AIT.

  • special forces = special ops? if someone passes qualifications to be a ranger do they get rapid promotion like SGT?

  • No.

Special Forces is specific to United States Army Special Forces "The green berets."

You get not promotion jump for passing Ranger indoc.

  • Joinin the army this coming monday. My line scores were all 105-110. my one lowest score was at 99. I'm going career and want to try for Army Rangers. Any imput would be more than appreciated, just send a message to my profile. I was told by a marine that I don't necissarily have to be 11b to qualify, however, it's easier to get in as an 11b. Any clarification from someone who is enlisted or who has actually served?

  • If you want to go to Ranger school you can be any MOS and its still going to be tough (do-able but tough). I'm a CW2 Army Aviator 153A and I may volunteer for Ranger school just for the challenge, prestige, and promotion potential. I'm a former Marine but I love flying for the Army. Your line scores are okay but you need to focus on your pt. Ask your recruiter about the High school to Flight school program. Aviation > Infantry!

  • @jamesjamesjr

    what's up chief,

it is a lot easier for officers from any branch to get a ranger slot than misc enlisted mos.

there were all branches of officers when i went but only combat arms mos enlisted.

none of the officers in my class were required to go through rip either.

non infantry ranger officers will not be ranger unit commanders at any level so in my opinion the oppurtunity shouldn't be available.

it takes slots away from combat arms enlisted soldiers who need it.

  • First off, why in the hell are you asking a Marine for advice for Army stuff, he knows nothing.

To become a Ranger you need to sign a contract that says 11b option 40. 11B OPTION 40. It needs the option 40, this means after infantry OUST you get a shot at ranger indoctrination. Otherwise they'll just dump you in a leg unit.
