Question... Could you share what St. Francis' life was like after he prayed this prayer? I have noticed that if we desire to grow in Christ, He in His Mercy and Grace, will allow us to experience life in such a way so as to grow in that which we pray for. :)

It is my desire and my prayer that God my use my testimonial videos to touch the lives of others. I have been through my hardships and sorrows. Our Father God has seen me through them all. My prayer is that with these testimonials I may offer hope and encouragement to others in Christ Jesus our Lord.

How beautiful to hear the Italian again. My mom just past...and I miss her speaking her home tongue to me...She is with Francis now...she was like Francis she loved the poor ...she used to travel many buses to obey the voice of her God...her Saviour her friend...I love St. Francis..I had a marvelous dream of him once. I do not know Espagnolo, but I can understand it a bit. My Italiano help! Regarding the quote, yes you are very correct! St. Francis knew the psalms by memory it seems so it would seem logical that the blessing came from the bible as well.

Our fraternity is beginning to use 'The Geste of the Great King - Office of the Passion of Francis of Assisi'. While the office is small the book is wonderful in explaining where Francis got those passages. Again, his complete familiarity with the Bible, the Psalms in particular. The Psalms were most probably prayed by Jesus himself. It makes me pause just thinking of that possibility.

Concerning Jesus praying and using tha Psalms, there are many references in the Gospels, but more explicitly, after the institution of the Eucharist when He left to the mount of the Olives: Mat.26,30;Mark 14,26.The footnotes in your Bible explain that Psalms 113-118 (the Hall-El) were sung during the Passover.

Now when I pray, the words seem to guide me into a different world. I find peace, when I am not thought of highly, I find joy when some has cut me down. Sometimes people think I'm a little strange, but there is real joy and peace here if we just try. Maybe if the world would try, we could find peace in a new way.

I think your interpretation is the most appropriate. Francis always strove to be the 'least', to distance himself from this world. The wonderful thing about Francis is that his way in seeking peace seems even more timely today. I've read this prayer many times but when I heard Pope John Paul read it, well. What can I say. Awesome video! A new look at a great old prayer. I used to like this prayer alot, before I understood what I was praying for in it. Now, I love this prayer, alot, but its words are hard to live by. I find that people find this prayer backwards, because people pray for health, long life, a great job, happiness, ect...
