This video is awesome. The pope's voice is beautiful and rythmic and the photos match the verses of the prayer - some in very profound ways. Bravo mapollo!
Question... Could you share what St. Francis' life was like after he prayed this prayer? I have noticed that if we desire to grow in Christ, He in His Mercy and Grace, will allow us to experience life in such a way so as to grow in that which we pray for. :)
@soulpeaceinchrist Sir, you need not answer my question. Thank you for creating this. It has been a great encouragement to me. I just posted this prayer up on my channel. It is my desire and my prayer that God my use my testimonial videos to touch the lives of others. I have been through my hardships and sorrows. Our Father God has seen me through them all. My prayer is that with these testimonials I may offer hope and encouragement to others in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Sadly I never learned Latin while in school. I was surprised how much I understood because of my Italian.
I wonder how many know what you meant by 'gymnasium'! My in-laws are from Berlin and Bavaria thus I pick up a bit from them so I know what you mean :) .
tell me what to do .. i've unwittingly become YT 'friends' with someone anti JP, Benedict, and everything since Vat2, and they're saying the most awful things, awful ... ooohh
How beautiful to hear the Italian again. My mom just past...and I miss her speaking her home tongue to me...She is with Francis now...she was like Francis she loved the poor ...she used to travel many buses to obey the voice of her God...her Saviour her friend...I love St. Francis..I had a marvelous dream of him once. He looked beautiful- just radiant. This video made me cry. Thank you.
Il Poverello is most wonderful. What an incredible path to Christ he has shown us. To be the last and the least. Your mother (I read your story) was a precious gem, I felt I knew her. Very much like my Nonna.
Il Signore ti benedica e ti custodisca.
Mostri a te il Suo Volto e abbia misericordia di te.
Rivolga verso di te il Suo Squardo e ti dia Pace.
what happened bro? yuo forgot to write back to my inbox about what I askyou to find out, however, you've been writing about "You are my God" Sorry I bothered you! Bleesings.
However, in order not to be confrontative with the persons pertaining to other confessions, let us say that the original Name does not have written vowels, only the consonants YHWH, meaning "I AM" and expressing "I AM ALL you need to be complete". Amen.
During the jewish Passover when eating the Lamb to commemorate their rescue from Egypt, they used to sing the three hall-els: the Minor Hal-lel(Psalms 113-118), the Great Hal-lel is the Psalm 136, and the last one are the Psalms 146-150.( "hallel" means "praise", so Hallel-u-Yah means Praise Yah(weh)
I do not know Espagnolo, but I can understand it a bit. My Italiano help! Regarding the quote, yes you are very correct! St. Francis knew the psalms by memory it seems so it would seem logical that the blessing came from the bible as well.
Our fraternity is beginning to use 'The Geste of the Great King - Office of the Passion of Francis of Assisi'. While the office is small the book is wonderful in explaining where Francis got those passages. Again, his complete familiarity with the Bible, the Psalms in particular. The Psalms were most probably prayed by Jesus himself. It makes me pause just thinking of that possibility.
Concerning Jesus praying and using tha Psalms, there are many references in the Gospels, but more explicitly, after the institution of the Eucharist when He left to the mount of the Olives: Mat.26,30;Mark 14,26.The footnotes in your Bible explain that Psalms 113-118 (the Hall-El) were sung during the Passover.
Thank you Brother in Christ! now I am sure that prayer is the quotation I mentioned; please check it and you will see I am right. what about my question concerning Espagnolo? (mi lengua española) do you anything of it?
I guess I understood most of your message; if I'm not wrong, this is the priesthood blessing given by Yahweh to Moses and Aaron in Numbers 6,22-27 to bless the Israelites; the only word I could reply to you is
"ditto".Do you know any Español? because I don't know any Italian or Latin. We have a song from St. Francis Peace Prayer, that it is called "Hazme un instrumento de tu paz"; we sing it during the communion in the Missa.Paz y bien.
That was silly of me! I am thrilled you were able to see this little video. The prayer is St. Francis' blessing to Brother Leo. I will translate the whole message:
"A thousand thanks, my brother in Christ. Let us thank God, Father of us all.
Thank you brother for sharing your talents and faith with me; this video is really touching because it brought to my mind two giants of the catholic faith, one who worked to rebuild the church in the 13th century in the prayer, and the other giant in the voice. Amazing! Maravilloso! El Señor te bendiga, hermano.
Now when I pray, the words seem to guide me into a different world. I find peace, when I am not thought of highly, I find joy when some has cut me down. Sometimes people think I'm a little strange, but there is real joy and peace here if we just try. Maybe if the world would try, we could find peace in a new way.
I think your interpretation is the most appropriate. Francis always strove to be the 'least', to distance himself from this world. The wonderful thing about Francis is that his way in seeking peace seems even more timely today. I've read this prayer many times but when I heard Pope John Paul read it, well. What can I say. By the way, I owe you many many thanks.
Awesome video! A new look at a great old prayer. I used to like this prayer alot, before I understood what I was praying for in it. Now, I love this prayer, alot, but its words are hard to live by. I find that people find this prayer backwards, because people pray for health, long life, a great job, happiness, ect...
You are most kind. And the fortune is mind to have such a kind comment. But I have done nothing. Let us give thanks to St. Francis, Pope John Paul and the Holy Trinity. For if we do any good it is not us but the Holy Spirit working through us.
This video is awesome. The pope's voice is beautiful and rythmic and the photos match the verses of the prayer - some in very profound ways. Bravo mapollo!

Cont. So from this hebrew word we can deduce the proper name of God, right? "Yah" not "Yeho" Yah(weh).
Quotations Ex. 15,2 and Psalm 118
