@tousisat1 i dont recommend buying one as ull get ripped off, just find an old electronic based object anything that plugs into the wall will have a transformer inside it. BE CAREFUL some transformers can output enough voltage to slap your shit.
interesting, if you wer4e rely clever, you could make a electronic one shot, with a 555 and a Fet to drive the transformer at optimum eficancy. That way you might get more out than you put in.
@ixamraxi eh not exactly a step up transformer does exactly that it takes in say 240v and can output something like 500v depending on what the transformer is rated for
@Si3z3 - And yet, when you check that against ohms law, you find that irrelevent of how much voltage you get out, the power is constant, you never get out more than you put in, as the voltage goes up, the current goes down. Power In = Power Out, where Power = Voltage * Current.
@BurningArtsStudios because of your tags. tags and title need to be descriptive, aka describe the video. if they are not, people will think to find the things your tags and title say IN THE VIDEO. which.. THEY AREN'T. negged, flagged, and please take a look at youtube's tutorials about tagging.
@BurningArtsStudios People like me? What are people like me? I'm just telling you how youtube works, because you misuse it. Not trying to offend, just slightly annoyed.
I'm not 14, i'm 20. my YouTube page doesn't show my age so where'd you get that?
Also, because of the "I really couldn't care less" Attitude the community is going to pieces. We are all humans interacting via text, not some bots. Have some respect (and follow the rules of YouTube when you're on YouTube, even if its "just tags")
@UltimatePwnageNL Wait WTF, why are you in this argument now.... I got the wrong person my bad... Youtube is falling apart because of google making so many changes, And another point, who even checks tags these days...
@BurningArtsStudios i agree, they shouldnt make visual changes this often. it's confusing.
no one looks at tags, but tags are used by the search system to show relevant video's. if you made a video of a 9v battery exploding and put dubstep in the tags, you'd get a lot of dubstep fans raging in your comments because a search for it turns up with your video. as for my grammar: english is my second language and i spend most of my time reading it, not writing.
@UltimatePwnageNL Well then they just don't click on the video if they see it hasn't got a dubstep artist in the title, and I really would appreciate if you didn't fill up my comments with all this rubbish.
isnt simply easier to NOT put INCORRECT tags to your vids?!?!...so, you are saying, i can upload video about flowers and gardening, but will put TAGS; transformer, coil, voltage..etc...and you will search for transformer and it will offer you my video of gardening flowers......dogs, birds, sailing...everything but TRANSFORMER....wouldnt you be pissed coz of inccorect tags in peoples vids, after hundreds misses?!?!?
@MrMonsterman101 Just a regular adapter, Just supply a voltage on the output stage then tough the wires in the input stage and you get a small spark :
In the US, it's 120V 60Hz. Just about everywhere else is 240V 50Hz. It's actually 120-0-120 split phase, so you can get 240V, but it's not the most common outlet. Things like electric dryers, ovens, welders, air conditioners still need the 240V.
It is not correct to say AC to DC transformer. I think you are reading what is written on the label of the adaptor and you has forgot that there are other parts in the circuit to make DC from AC which are not seen on the clip.
@ivo1st The ac is created by interupting the dc - ie switching manually. This is how an inverter works. For constant dc it won't work of course, it has to be varying and varying dc = ac!
@sorova The ac is created by interupting the dc - ie switching manually. This is how an inverter works. For constant dc it won't work of course, it has to be varying and varying dc = ac!
This is how high voltage ignition in cars work, essentially briefly connecting a DC source via a switching transistor, then remove it allowing the magnetic field in the transformer to collapse, inducing a high voltage spike. You will find there is a considerable voltage spike also on the 6V secondary when you momentarily connect and disconnect the battery, You may even feel a brief shock in your fingers, if you touch both secondary leads while your disconnect the battery.
The peak voltage looks like it's around 3000V, based on the approximate 3mm gap between the 230V ac leads, The distance electricity will jump is also effected by the shape of the electrodes between the gap. If you use more batteries in series for more voltage you may get even higher voltages, however the enameled copper wire insulation on the transformers primary will eventually fail, and you will get internal flash-overs on the 230V windings.
450 mA? lol thats not much, the ones i use are 13.5v 1.9 A, and when i put it on my flyswatter it doesnt break the transformer while it gives a 20x bigger spark
@theSYNQmaster It depends what you supply it with, It was an AC transformer to start with and a full wave rectifier in the output stage. In this vid though I put a DC current through the output end.
@theSYNQmaster Whеn he connects battery to primary coil of the transformer, a short impulse occurs (AC), so аmplified impulse is generated on the secondary coil.
its a step down transformer with the power source connected on the output side so it draws small amounts of current to produce a large amount of volts kinda like a stun gun 40 000 volts and .001milli ampsif you had both large amounts of volts and current you would fry your brain like BurningArtsStudios
@MAIMPORT to test how much current your phone battery puts at maximum load you can test it by using your multimeter:Put the red lead on the 10A socket black stays is common, take a car light bulb or an inductive load that draws lots of juice put it in series with the multimeter, set the multimeter on amps and measure how much current it pulls and that will be the maximum of hundreds of mA/Amps you can get from your battery.
were have you buy or get the transformer please?

What you have as just a step up transformer. DC is converted to AC manually when you switch the battery on and off in the primary.
sorova 2 months ago
@sorova What the hell are you talking about? You CANNOT convert DC to AC with a simple transformer! You need a special inverting circuit.

Please I need to know, if you buy battery from some 1 how can u tell if it is been used or brand new using multimeter?
For example if some one sold me a battery he used it for 1 year already,
if I test it it will give me the same voltage
But
when I use it I will find out that it does not hold charge for more than couple of hours
So how can I test its CAPACITY since beginning if it is been consumed or not?
Very important
I would appreciate if you can help me out
