this is an amaaaazing book! i am from Pakistan. I always liked Afghanistan but after reading this book I loooovvvveee Afghanistan. of course this book doesn't portrays every side of Afghanistan the same way the ignorant media portrays Pakistan as a terrorist-haven but Afghanistan resembles Pakistan v much n gives me a v homey feeling ! but i have heard that Afghans don't like Pakistanis! WHY? I love Afghans!

I jus loved this book.I had no idea about that side of the world.Its a very beautifully written story to which u can connect instantly.Hats off to Khaleed Hosseine.!!.. got a glimsp of the religion as well as the country..

This book is so sad and beautiful at the same time. But what really makes me sad is that, girls are treated so bad in Afghanistan, I am from Afg myself so i know how they treat them. Not all guys are like that but some are :(

@WabibiWahidi You are right, it's sad for him to JUST show the bad side of Afghanistan, I've been to afghanistan and people are real nice and stuff, but I don't know them personally so I wouldn't know or judge them even if this movie may be convincing. Movies like Boy originally from New Zealand shows so many fucked up shit about NZ but hey, you can't really look at a country and judge them on what a movie has portrayed. (just saying)

best one i've seen. A thousand splendid suns would make a great movie. but i'm having a hard time imagining it being a typical movie. i was thinking if they were going to make it a movie, it should be documentary LIKE focusing and switching to different women and certain situations and eventually narrow down to mariam, and lila when they meet, u know? its really hard to explain. but if they do make a movie, i hope they keep it based from the book. great vid btw.

I dnt think they can make a good movie - have you seen the kite runner? It was OK.. but could have been much much better - for someone who hasnt read the book it would have been a really boring film.. they need to do something different with this - it is coming out as a movie..
