  • hey there i was wondering i had relations with my bf at the time and he just told me today that he was also doing another girl who had just told him that she had relations with this other guy that has aids what the chance that i have it? i really want to know and need to know

  • if im about to have sex with my girlfriend im so horney she so horney NO CONDOM NO CONTRACEPTION, and there is no doctor near by im about to incert my penis into her virgina how do i know just by looking plzzz help

  • @YOUNGDON72: You can't tell whether a person has HIV by looking at them. Get tested. If you choose to be sexually active, use a condom correctly every time for every act.

  • how do i know if i got hiv?

  • @ElDoofy1: Go to the doctor or a public health or STD clinic and take an HIV test. Watch our video "The Top Ten Questions About HIV Tests" for more info.

  • 2 da fagot below dat arnold guy i had (and am havin) unprotected sex with tonz of HIV positive girlz n i still test negative

n 2 AIDSvideos yall aint helpin nobody if u have HIV u gonn die eventualy

  • how often does early symptoms of HIV occur

  • i swear to you if u have unprotected sex with hiv positive person ur chance of not contracting the virus is like 1 in 99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999, i would have to say u will pretty much be positive if u had unprotected sex with a positive individual

  • This is Eric; I'm not a doctor. I agree that unprotected sex (with an HIV+ person or otherwise) is not a risk you should take, and I encourage all people who choose to be sexually active to use safer sex techniques like condoms to reduce their risk. However, that said, it's worth noting that scientific studies don't show that the risk of HIV transmission is quite as high as you're suggesting. Wikipedia's "HIV" article has a good table summarizing transmission risk estimates.

  • @AIDSvideos ABSTENENCE IS BEST

  • I am an MD. Here are the odds of contracting HIV having sex with an HIV+ partner based on the Smith DK, Grohskopf LA, Black RJ, et al study.

    Receptive anal 50:10,000

    Insertive anal 6.5:10,000

    Receptive penile-vaginal 10:10,000

    Insertive penile-vaginal 5:10,000

    Receptive oral 1:10,000

    Insertive oral 0.5:10,000

50 in 10,000? Doesn't sound like much does it? 0.5%. Or 1 in 200 times having sex you could contract a horrible life-changing disease.

    I'd avoid those odds.

  • Well the odds to win the lottery are 1 to 13.000.000 but almost every weekend someone does! Even when 1 in 200 sounds rather low.. well it could be Nr. 1, Nr. 3 or so on in your 200!

  • hmm that's actually not true

    it's like one in 500

and it's way harder for a girl to give it to a guy, because her fluids has to somehow get through the pee hole and go into the blood stream

there's been plenty of cases of couples who one was positive and they didnt know it and ketp on having sex for years......and the other one still tests negative after...be careful, but the truth is, hiv is actually much harder to get then most other viruses

  • how can i be a doctor like you?

  • The title of this video is misleading. Some of us out there (such as myself) have been tested & are nervously awaiting the results. In the mean time, I came across this video in order to gather more info about my situation & to help me cope w/ the waiting period. The video however, provided no information on the risk of HIV, it only stated that it is too complicated to count the risk b/c of all the different factors. Basically it was just another video that said to get tested and use condoms.

  • I don't agree that the title is misleading at all. We get this question constantly from people who HAVEN'T been tested, so it's fair to answer it by encouraging them to get tested. Watch "Some Ways You Can Contract HIV and the Risk of Each One" for statistics about risks. I also note with interest that your account joined today with username "seekingstats" and watched 0 videos before you posted this negative comment. Hmmm ...

  • I have watched "Some Ways You Can Contract HIV and the Risk of Each One" I also posted a comment there, & it is currently waiting approval. I have watched videos on youtube before, but in order to post a comment I had to join, I thought that the user name was appropriate because that is my reason for watching your videos, for statistics, but also for info. I still stand by my previous post that the title is misleading. Please take it as constructive criticism & not as an attack on your work.

  • Thank you this was very informative.
