Mine (so far) seems to be the seragant. He ws previously abused and is very spooky, dosnt listen or trust anyone but me. His is my best friend, and I dont know what I'd do with out him.
My pony was a dove... uncomfortable when something new happened, and she would only follow someone she trusted through it.
I rode a nice horse for a long time, he was definately a sergant - very dominant, very free and independent. Not the type I am used to choose, but somehow we just matched.
My horse is "friend" personality towards me but only if I assert a lot of dominance toward him..but at the same time I have to treat him as my equal and request things, not require them. He's very headstrong, and can be very hard to handle, but he loves me more than the world. IDK what he is XD
This video cleared up my relationship with my horse. The description of the seargent fits my horse to the hair. Now I know why he gets so agressive towards me.I am boarding him with a friend and now he gets agressive with me after beeing so lovable with me when he was with me at first.Well in 2 weeks he will be back with me and we can start over with all the knowledge about training I have acumalated. Now I understand my horse and can love him even more.Thank you Klause.
I am confused, my horses are growing up and they've gone through several of these characters, I guess I need to wait until they are more mature to trully define their personalities... I love Klaus, I wish I lived in Europe!
You have a good and very important point there - exactly for this reason Klaus says the horses should be at least 3 years before you can be sure about its character.
It's funny, because by col has always been a seargeant since birth! sure he had some traits of the child as he was one, but it's unbelievable how simply and objectively Klaus describes his personality and how to handle it! it took me 3 years and 2 kicks to learn what he summed up in a page... oh if i'd only had that book earlier... it was real fun to learn on my own though (apart from the kicks) ;-.-
I think one of the most important aspects of Klaus's work is the idea that every horse is an individual and needs a unique approach from the human working with him. This film re-emphasises that element of Klaus's work from his book 'What Horses Reveal'and the more people that have the chance to recognise their individual, unique horse and stop looking for the 'one size fits all' quick fix then the better and safer working with horses will be. HOORAH for this film!
My horse is a sceptic with a bit of gypsy :)

Wonderful to keep repeating the ideas, so us thick humans eventually get it.
