@teamhumor..... U realize you should keep ur mouth shut lol. Of course it's stock... Most cars are stock when tested 0-60 fyi. And it is actually slow. A lot of cars can go 0-60 a lot faster stock then this
I own a stock 2009 galant sport V6 and I get a consistent 8.5 second 0-60 mph by turning off the traction control and changing the gears manually. By changing the gears manually you really get to maximize the use of first, second, and third gears which helps A LOT.
This video test was obviously done in manual and with the traction control on.
This is pretty slow... I really wish Mitsu would devote time back into this car instead of being basically a 6-8 year old design with new sheet metal. 4 speed auto isn't the norm for this class or price range anymore.
Look I'm sorry, I've watched a lot of your 0-60 vids...
What is the point in 0-60 testing these cars? They're all slow, they have ridiculously small and weak engines. I understand many consumers are interested in good mpg ratings... so why bother with 0-60?
At any rate, I've recieved quite an education on just how slow a lot of cars out on the road really are. Wow...
@MarineHawk117 - Life is not a drag race. These videos provide documentation and are part of our standard review process. Folks need to be able to make the merge in difficult circumstances. When someone is researching the purchase of a new vehicle, these videos demonstrate how the vehicle responds in WOT situations.
I am thankful to have grown up with the mighty V8, but small engines represent the future.
...Because the average eco-friendly consumer often does 0-60 in normal situations? Well, considering the slow acceleration, I guess on the outside you can't tell their flooring it.
I understand your point, but why not have 45-60 or 45-80 vids that show "how the vehicle responds in WOT situations"? Somehow, that acceleration documentation would be more useful in researching a car than a 0-60 launch, no? Small engines sure as hell aren't my future...
@MarineHawk117 - The need to merge onto a highway from a dead stop in traffic is a necessity for many folks.
0-60 MPH is a time-honored benchmark and the average consumer isn't eco-friendly. We hope to expand our scope of coverage, down the road, by adding a passing lane benchmark.
BTW, there are plenty of four-cylinder engines that will whoop your HEMI. But don't get me wrong, that engine rocks. The 300C's highway cylinder deactivation is very cool. And when you stomp on it ... =)
Oh yeah, some of the I4 powered vehicles I've seen are impressive. They're usually imports and modded, but I was really surprised by the speed of a lot of these small cars that I thought would be a lot faster.
I can never fairly judge the new 300Cs or Chargers because I've had the honor of riding in a 1970 Charger with a 426. You were lucky to grow up with that. Btw, you do a great job reviewing a lot of those cars. I'd love seeing a 2010 Ram Hemi review. Keep up the great work.
@mpgomatic my 95 galant had the 2.4 with 155hp about and was doing 0-60 in 10 seconds with the automatic.... with a partially bad fuel pump had to (beat the tank) with a hammer to get her going smooth on starts or when she would act up...man i hated that car
Well, yep. :) A five or six speed would help keep the 2.4 in its powerband and might help with MPGs ... although we did really well with regard to mileage ... fourth gear has some roll to it ...
that's bs, I hit mine in roughly 7 to 7.5sec and trust me I tested it several times. I think you hit the gears or the accel wrong

0-60 in ~11sec

I've got it at roughly 9.5, looking at the time code in Final Cut.
At some point, I'll probably add a timer to the top of the videos. Started experimenting with one a while back but could never get it to look right.
