Yea, Dwight might be the best Center to day, but, he has a long way to reach Shak's level. Shak is by far the most dominate center ever in NBA History. 4 Championship tittles. 16 time all star and so on.
But, my point was that you cannot give much props to Dwight when he man handles a tired old shaq; simple. He's about to retired. Howard, like you said, is barely starting off. Shak is still consider a greater player over all, by far.
The thing with Dwight, what still keeps him from being what Shaq used to be, is the inability to create his own shot like other great centers. Still, most of Dwights points are off of offensive rebounds and easy dunks. He doesn't really have any post moves, no up and unders, not a good hookshot, no fadeaways. Orlando can't go to him in the post like Houston does to Yao or the Spurs do to Duncan. I like Dwight, but he's gotta improve his post game before he comes close to what Shaq was.

I watch plenty of Magic games, they are one of the teams I watch most. Dwight only had 21 made shots during the finals and averaged 4 turnovers per game. Why? Because he's not very good at working in the post to get his own shot. He's almost completely dependent upon someone else to get him the ball in an easy scoring position, completely unlike Shaq used to be. Orlando can't run their offense through him, I like Dwight, but he is at this point just a freakish athlete.
Which definitely help his team, however, without his freakish athleticism, the shotblocking and rebounding wouldn't really happen. However, where Dwight could improve his shotblocking is in keeping the ball in play after a block. That's how guys used to block shots back in the old days, try to send it to a teammate and start a fast break. That's what Bill Russell used to do.

by the way you said at Shaq's, and Dwight's prime. Dwight hasn't even gotten to his prime yet. Plus Dwight has done something Shaq has never done. Win a Finals game with the Orlando Magic. Shaq's Magic got swept in 94-95. Sure, thats nothing to be proud of, but keep in mind, Dwight is the best center in the game by far, and is still only 23.

Yea, Dwight might be the best Center to day, but, he has a long way to reach Shak's level. Shak is by far the most dominate center ever in NBA History. 4 Championship tittles. 16 time all star and so on.
But, my point was that you cannot give much props to Dwight when he man handles a tired old shaq; simple. He's about to retired. Howard, like you said, is barely starting off. Shak is still consider a greater player over all, by far.

The thing with Dwight, what still keeps him from being what Shaq used to be, is the inability to create his own shot like other great centers. Still, most of Dwights points are off of offensive rebounds and easy dunks. He doesn't really have any post moves, no up and unders, not a good hookshot, no fadeaways. Orlando can't go to him in the post like Houston does to Yao or the Spurs do to Duncan. I like Dwight, but he's gotta improve his post game before he comes close to what Shaq was.

I watch plenty of Magic games, they are one of the teams I watch most. Dwight only had 21 made shots during the finals and averaged 4 turnovers per game. Why? Because he's not very good at working in the post to get his own shot. He's almost completely dependent upon someone else to get him the ball in an easy scoring position, completely unlike Shaq used to be. Orlando can't run their offense through him, I like Dwight, but he is at this point just a freakish athlete.

He's also a great shotblocker and rebounder. He's arguably more helpful to his team that way, and it's a good mentality to have.

Which definitely help his team, however, without his freakish athleticism, the shotblocking and rebounding wouldn't really happen. However, where Dwight could improve his shotblocking is in keeping the ball in play after a block. That's how guys used to block shots back in the old days, try to send it to a teammate and start a fast break. That's what Bill Russell used to do.
