The BEST piano I ever played was the Baldwin Concert Grand Piano at Delta State University in Cleveland, MS. The bass sounded like the low rumble of a magnificent train. Truly awesome. Baldwin has my heart, too! By the way - very nice playing!

I love 7notemode's stuff too, I think he's fantastic, and I've been following you (in a non-scary way!) for a few months now and I really think this is the best thing you've posted by far. You seem to have gained a unique "soul", or perhaps that just comes through when you're improvising like this. Either way, I think you should have no qualms about getting near to 7notemode's standard. You're there.
benweston2002, Lot2Learn really shines on acoustic piano. I'm always trying to get him to do more of it. The thing that is so striking about his playing is that he does top rate solo work and also does trio and group playing that is somewhere in the stratosphere. He actually listens to what the other players are doing and responds in real time with his own playing. I've heard some of his future posts that bear this out. That and his locked in sense of swing is what knocks me out.
Roger, you are an absolutely superb player and I am in awe of you! We need to swop Youtube names though -it is I, not you, that has a 'lot2learn' ! Thanks for this inspiration! -Colin
First, Thanks for such a nice compliment. It's great to hear you on an acoustic. You have a great Tatum run at 0:30 and even a Tatumesqe stride section! You move to a bebop walking bass with a hard swinging RH improv -- back to rubato, then you go all McCoy Tyner pentatonic at the end. That is like the history of jazz in five minutes! Beautifully executed, Roger. I also know a secret...I know some mind-blowing acoustic playing by you is going to be ready to post soon! Can't wait!
Just...soooo......nice!
