  • I know it makes no sense but I'm sooooo proud

  • I KNOW Peter wins the Oscar I KNOW what happens... so why do I feel thing bubble of excitement when Cruise says 'and the award goes to...'???

  • He's the best director!!! I wont to see The Hobbit so so so much

  • What I want to know is why Elijah Wood didn't win Best Actor in lead role...

    He totally deserved it.

  • Peter Jackson really deserved this Oscar and his speech is just touching. He really did a great job with the trilogy. It has been nearly ten years but the movies never get old. Now we're just waiting for him to finish the prequels of this epic trilogy. See you on December 14th!

  • Tom Cruise seems to like Peter jackson.

  • wtf,is Peter jackson kissing all the girls in mouth?

  • @DevilOnHog i just realised tht LOL after they called his name he kissed 2 women on the mouth

  • wow, they're so civilized when they clap. usually, when people see their favorite person/etc. on the screen, they clap loudly, whistle, all kinds of stuff

  • too humble.

    TLotR was huuuuge.

    definitely deserving!

  • My.. god... Peter Jackson was fat!

  • @Macthillien is peter jackson skinny havent checked?

  • @2229trunks yeah he lost a ton of weight

  • Love Peter Jackson? We need your help! Help fund a Peter Jackson Homage.

(Remove the asterik and replace with .)

Thanks for any help you can provide!

  • why arent Miranda Otto and David Wenham in the audience with the rest of the crew?

  • seriously, those other directors can't even compare to Peter Jackson.

  • @xValanirX Well, I wouldn't say that. Jackson did an incredible job tackling the largest project the film industry has ever seen. But he couldn't have made "Lost in Translation" or "City of God." They are all talented and they all have their own distinct style.

  • I love this man, he deserves this and 1000 Oscars more.

  • He seems so sad / nervous. Maybe some one should have told him that in 8 years the Movie industrie will kiss his feet to make a Hobbit movie

  • it's a shame that they don't recognize the harry potter's. I mean, they are fantasies too.

  • @marneebox They are no where near as good as the LOTR trilogy

  • why did i think peter jackson was a ian mckellen looking person?????

  • Greatest motion picture project of all time if you ask me. It deserved every single accolade it received.

  • Peter Jackson, really great wonderful director and man, my big inspiration. He is one of the great directors who inspired me to become director myself.

  • Man I love Peter. I make movies on a camera at home and when I grow up i'm going to be a movie director.

  • He looks like John Rhys Davis in the thumbnail.

  • poor peter weir man, I mean an absolute masterpiece, and he has to go up against LOTR. Just no way

  • Is PJ drunk??

  • SUCK ON THAT POTTER! XD

  • @TheBatman101 i like very much the lord of the rings but i harry potter don't suck!

  • this guy is a GENIUS!

  • Here he looked like a young Francis Ford Coppola. Nowadays he looks like a young Steven Spielberg. With great accent. Strange.

  • Peter kiss liv!! O.O

  • @Crisraidan Yeah I was like wtf too O.o Such a pimp that Peter.

  • LOVED THE SERIES & MUCH MUCH DESERVED!!! HAVE IT ALL IN EXTENDED EDTION ON BLU-RAY

GROUNDBRAKING IN BIG ,EPIC Cinema photographic & SOUND >>> LOTR'S

    BRAVO PETER

  • tbh the only other movie i liked other then lotr in that list was master and commander, but jackson definatly deserved the win there

  • CITY OF GOD should've won..

  • @DonRMB

No way, Lord of the rings deserved this and even more!

  • @DonRMB no, stfo

  • You were so funny in bad taste.

  • Great person, remember splatter times also : D

  • Forgot hobbist and back to start...

  • damn....he was so fucking fat last time....now he's a skinny dude!!!

  • Poor Jackson... he gained so much weight filming all those Lord of the Rings...

  • clint's pissed

  • Hey, City of God, that was an amazingly well made film!

Jackson deserved the win though of course ^^

  • well deserved

  • wow, i can't believe nobody is standing for this incredible director

  • I have high hopes for ' The Hobbit '. I hope it will be recognised at some of the award shows when it comes out.

  • @MissAnnaSar i know right . so excited . i saw some shooting pics of cate blancchett and hugo weving . they look amazing

  • who ever wins best director, also always wins best picture, dont they?

  • @ole78aol That happens most of the time-but in 1999 Spielberg won best director for saving private Ryan but best picture went to Shakespeare in love-so there are a couple of exceptions.

  • aw that end bit was moving

  • this almost made me shed a tear :'D

  • Life without Peter Jackson would suck

  • Best freaking movie trilogy ever!

  • hot wife

  • Bring on the Hobbit!!!!!!

  • Kiss on the lips for peter jackson. Lucky fucker.

  • @BenFosterism More like (correct me if I'm wrong) winning three Oscars in one night. Wait that wasn't luck, he's just a badass =)

  • 1:13 look at his hand... ;)

  • Tom Cruise is rocking that suit

  • is it me or does he look really drunk

  • And to think this guy directed Bad Taste lol

  • A Beautiful Mind (2001) and Chicago (2002)? This should have been his third Oscar!

  • @TheJIMNOTJIMMY A Beautiful Mind? No. Chicago? DEFINITELY.

  • @TheJIMNOTJIMMY haha so true!!

  • @TheJIMNOTJIMMY haha so true!!!

  • I somehow think Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer took a bigger risk with “2001: A Space Odyssey”. Unlike “The Lord of the Rings”, that film did not have an already built-in fanbase.

  • I like how he said "Peter jackson, Lord of the rings" Like "No shit sherlock"

Also, damn, he's lost weight since then!

  • @landioma It's because they announce the whole title on the card they pull out. They are usually done that way in every ceremony.

  • @landioma Yeah but now he's gained a lot of it back lol

  • 2012 will certainly be an interesting year. We've got Pixar's Brave, The Dark Knight Rises, The Avengers movie (the hype alone is enough to get us to notice), the Hobbit: There and Back Again, the Amazing Spiderman, Ridley Scott's Prometheus, Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained, and I think the Dark Tower is going to get a movie next year as well.

And so long as the world doesn't end by then, then we can hope we can see all of these directors nominated once again or for the first time.

  • @REAL Agreed 100%. Not to mention Clint Eastwood's next film, J. Edgar Hoover, that stars Leonardo DiCaprio. 2012 should be a great year for film

  • LOL! Fernando Meirelles 0:58

  • I really NEED to contact Peter Jackson!! BUT HOW??? DOES ANYBODY NOW HOW?

  • @FabienneBisel

    Your welcome :)

  • such a huge win for nerds everywhere. A fantasy movie winning best picture and 10 other oscars. yes.

  • @rirruto85

    stfu you retard

i bet you never watched the films/read the books or you are just stupid

  • @rirruto85 yeah, man you must be the biggest nerds of them lol

  • naaaw!!! Dominic Monaghan, Elijah Wood ^_^

  • for once, The Oscars made the right choice

  • lol at frodo

  • Holy Shit, these are some bloody tough nominations. If LOTR wasn't there, I'd be torn between Lost in Translation and Master And Commander.

  • I live like a kilometre from peter jackson :D

  • @tbasimos the LOTR series was the best film(s) ive ever watched. It took my imaginations to a whole new level. A film that really felt like a dream

  • Tom Cruise at the end: "So, you casting for The Hobbit yet?"

  • this guy lives 5 minutes away from me LOL

  • @MissJuicyCathy Say hi when you see him. He has a lot of fans.

  • @MissJuicyCathy u must be rich as fuck 2 live a short distance away from him.

  • 2:54 Tom Cruise is begging Peter Jackson to put him in The Hobbit as Jack.....

  • city of god masterpice

  • oh, ok so...i guess, in 2009 he was slimmer....okay, i had it backwards lol i feel emberassed now cuz i commented wrongly on many videos....love u peter!

  • I have to say I liked fat Peter, but I love healthy Peter ;)

  • @stavit2 He's pretty much back at that weight now. All he needs is the glasses, and he'd look the same.

  • @stavit2 nahh, big peter had a friendlier non-arrogant feeling lol small peter made him seem like any other guy =/ imo lol

  • If Peter didn't win he would have cast the Eye of Sauron upon the academy.

  • my eyes always water when he thanks his parents

  • best picture of the past decade

  • Fuck, he's lost alot of weight, good on him :)

  • I think Eastwood should have won.

  • The oscars is largely politics. Peter Jackson didn't win just for this movie, he and this movie won all those awards for the whole series combined.

  • I wonder what TC said to PJ :p

  • clint eastwood should have won.his directing was better

  • @nafpaktos1988 i've got all of the lord of the rings movies and he definitely deserved it.

  • @archlord8 for best picture i agree.but not for directing

  • @nafpaktos1988 and how u know ? who is better? blowme bitch, peter jackson FTW.

  • @nafpaktos1988 Are you serious? Have you seen LOTR3 at least?

  • @boltaction851 yes,well deserved the best picture award,but didn't deserve the directin oscar.have u seen mystic river?

  • @nafpaktos1988 The awards for The Return Of The King are considered to be a proxy for the rest of the series

  • @nafpaktos1988 The Return Of The King's awards are considered to be proxies for the entire series

  • @Dood u are right about that

  • @nafpaktos1988 Have you seen the lord of the rings? lol, ok, that's an unfair question. They're both very good movies, and I bet it was a hard choice. But still, I gotta go with Lord of the Rings. Awesome films, all 3 of them. And there's so many ways in which one bad director could've wrecked the amazing stories by Tolkien. And instead we got Peter Jackson, and he made it the most succesful trilogy of all time.

  • clint eastwood's directing was better.he should have won

  • Master

  • Most director work for 2-3 years on a movie. Peter worked for 7 freakin years on the same movie! He deserved this more than anyone.

  • @vars280287 And christopher Nolan worked with Inception for 10 years and he didnt even get nominated!! TOUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!

  • @1Minute60Seconds Inception was one film whereas lotr was three, and lotr was also much better than inception and most other films. That's why Jackson was nominated and won. Although Nolan should have been nominated-inception was brilliant.

  • Why Aragon wasnt there he was one of the principal lotr characters

  • Why Aragon wasnt there he was one of the principal characters of lotr

  • my favorite director... i just like how he isnt there for the money, he is there to make a good movie and will do anything to do that while having fun at the same time.

  • the hobbits where setting next to him !

i guess middle earth is really safe now

  • Field of Dreams meets Memento. Check out the trailer for the film I have been working on for the past 2 years. Official '41' movie teaser. Coming Soon 2012.

  • @peaceandmetal88 Hell yeah

  • @peaceandmetal88 That's gonna be 2012 and 2013. *

  • suck on this star wars

  • @Shikamaru392 why you can't you love both?

  • Lord of the Rings is awesome filmmaking at its finest! Thank you Peter Jackson! You are a very talented director, and yes, I did like The Lovely Bones.

  • Very poignant that he remembered his parents even amid all that glamour and excitement.

  • peter jackson is a fucking king for giving us lord of the rings! god bless him.

  • DESERVED.

  • Not you fat jesus...

  • @Horismokufan ohhhhh what a sad guy. your straight up not welcomed in New Zealand.

  • tom cruise gtfo

  • TOM CRUISE why don't you win some oscar? because you are idiot.

  • Haha guarantee Tom Cruise is like "Hey Peter how about putting me in your next movie?"

  • A very humble speech from a great director. Respect to his parents who spotted his talent early and bought him a SUPER8 camera. All that filming and hard-work from young age came into fruition at this very moment. One of the bravest visionaries of our time. Keep marching forward - Peter Jackson!

  • @528491Inception Haha true!

  • Meet the Feebles > LOTR

  • LoL i didn't know peter Jackson was a pimp

  • Liposuction came in handy the guy was a barrel.

  • Must win Clint Eastwood

  • @jacf182 agreed

  • Without jrr tolkien, no one would know who Peter Jackson, only a true fool would be able to make the LOTR fla[p, glad he made them but he is in JRR's shadow when it comes to talent and story telling.

  • @Battle4MiddleEarth and vice versa, no one would know what lord of the rings was if it weren't for peter jackson's films

  • @Battle4MiddleEarth Ur comment is completely out of the topic. Really disrespectful for Peter Jackson's Work in Lord of the Rings.

  • @Battle4MiddleEarth: True. We have much to thank Tolkien for. We also have Peter Jackson to thank him for filmaticise the LOTR trilogy. Both are great men in their own rights ^^. God bless them both.

  • I just love this man.:))

  • What the I just noticed he kissed Liv Tyler on the lips. Am I missing something here?

  • He is the Spielberg of our time.

  • @GSpeedEmotion Nah, he's much better than Spielberg ever was. Not just as a director, but as a storyteller.
