This is a STAGED arrest, as specphil previously said. This was a full video (that seems to have moved) showing the arrest of a 'ThisIsCornwall' reporter - where he tried staying in a cell for a night. It was a report from thisiscornwall!
The subject being admonished by the Bobbie sounds like he's from Boston. Not that that makes a difference. It also appears to me that he possibly flipped off the copper. I think the officer showed great restraint. If it were me, I would have taken him into custody for drunk in public as he would have flunked my attitude test. Coppers 1, assholes, Nil.
@sgtburg lol assholes nil!! it's sad tho that some people get an attitude problem after a few beers, i personally think that the police should be given more power to deal with such situations, alot of the time the penalty is an £80 fine, let them spend a week in the local police station, doubt they would do it again then!
you know what i dont get about this type of action by cops well public can be done for drinking in the streets so they littering there own bodies yet police come and take it off you and just polute it all over the street ?? dont make sense but yh if the guy was coursing trouble fare enough but if not then if it is so bad for alkahol in streets then they should take it away and dispose of it some where safe right ?
@fishcrazy104 so your mentally insane police can unload a ridiculous amount of bullets into teenagers for throwing stones at police cars lol we have police with guns, dont get it twisted. but they are only called when neccessary.
end of the day you can't drink in public, and most cops are pretty lenient ive found in the uk with this law, but if your drunk well they kinda have to do their job...in my country (Australia) you get seen with opened alcohol on the streets and you will get fined, regardless of whether your drunk, age or anything there really strict on it
this wasnt a real arrest guys, the canadian bloke is the editor of the local paper. He spent the night in the cells and did a report on it all. I was in the police force at the same station when this happened. The welsh bloke is a special and was training and the Sargeant used to be my skipper.

LEGALISE cannabis, streets are covered with illegal drugs........so simply they changed name from legal to illegal, IT'S ALL ON STREETS U PIGS....xtc...tabs....alkohol.....mephadrone......lsd......skunk....hash............ket......crack...smack....SO HOW THE FUCK u bastards made it safer.....?
@neutonik shut up. This was getting someone causing a nuisance off the streets. Next time we will let him shout abuse at you, throw up on you and try and kick your head in. You need to grow up. This was an exercise for Special Constables, demonstrating the kind of situations these volunteer constables will be in.
its quite simple our Police are Civilised and are trained too deal with these kinds of ppl in a much easier and calmer way where as american police cant go 5 seconds without pulling out their taser and stunning an unarmed man who poses no risk too the public
if you listen again 1) the police had reports from members of tbe public, they were not doing it at random, or because they felt like it. 2) when the audio dipped (ie you couldn't hear anything) he was swearing, note they could have given him a PND for the offence but didn't.
bobboberan, he is swearing they have silenced the swearing. Please make sure what you are saying has eligibility. The man is clearly drunk and was behaving in a way which a member of the public has called the police. It is an offence for the gentleman to be drunk and disorderly and it is another offence to be causing alarm or distress to another member of the public. Despite this, he was not arrested and just moved on, which is proportionate to the crime, and good policing.
section 5 you can be arrested for swearing, also they said they had received a complaint and he didn't look sober to me. enough to chuck him in the cells till he sobers up, wish that would happen more often round here.
yeah I think I get the point it all worked out okay though , and you're probably right if there is really that much obnoxious intoxication going on in he hood
@bobboberan he did swear, and its a teaser video to watch on the link if you read, so by that you cant read and you cant listen, your either arrogant or just stupid.
He is sober. He should be roughed up for that alone.

When they say 'do you understand', ALWAYS answer 'no'.
I'm aware that the Police have a tough job to do at times.
But they can and will close ranks on a whim.
There are still some decent coppers about. But I reckon most of the decent ones from 'the old school' are being pensioned off rapidly.

Why is it the British cops can deal with this without resorting to intimidation? The NYPD would have been shouting at the top of their lungs.
