It has a new and very thin water based finish on it, and J seems to be really happy with the finish, now that it's assembled. The thin finish sounds like it really let's the woods sing! I also own a lefty Bear Claw Spruce/Cocobolo Dred of J's, and I'm very excited to get my hands on the new one!
@Leftyprs Thank you. I saw your guitar body when I went to pick this one up a few months ago. It looked great. Jim is a perfectionist so if he's happy with the finish it must be amazing. I have one with Nitro and one Water based. Both are thin. They get thinner with time too. We're lucky to get these guitars before Jim gets famous and raises hit rates. My two dreads are pretty special. Let me know when you get yours. I'd love to see and hear it.
I'm partial to small body guitars, but that dreadnaught has got to be one of the most incredible sounding guitars i've ever heard. I can't play well but I got guitar love. I never heard of jmac until I was on your channel one day. Nice bit of music and playing there.
This sounds fantastic - not unlike a D-18GE. I love it. I don't think I could choose between this and the other Jmac, they are both sublime. You are a lucky man!
Very cool. And a 2 camera shoot as well. This one does sound different from the 1st. I'm not sophisticated enough to be able to articulate how though. Not as bass-ee. I suppose it will get more deep in time though. I actually prefer the higher end being prominent. Do you suppose a triple O body for the next one?
Yeah it's hard to describe the difference, seems to be more clear than the first one. This will be my last purchase for a while I think. 000's don't really do it for me anyway. I had these dreads built a little thinner for comfort. They're not as thin as a 000 but definitely more comfortable than a big dread.
I'll work on one of those tunes for you this week.
