Try tga instead of h264 and get virtualdub to convert the tga files you will get, it is basically screenshots of the game. Really good quality and the files will be located in cstrike. Hopefully this works for you.

@Hassan6sMg Your not supposed to type testlol_smooth, playdemo is the command to play your own demo and i named it testlol_smooth and you would have to have a demo called that for it to work.

Just so everyone knows: this method is broken with certain games, so far the only ones I know of are tf2 and gmod. You can tell it is broken if you don't get that codec dialogue box and it exports a corrupted .wav file instead of a video.

@dkzmoller You could invert them over to tga files which are a bunch of screenshots.. Done by doing startmovie whatever without the avi thign at the end :)

Then the files wil be found in the cstrike folder. Go there and find the first one named 0000 or something.

Drag that into a program called virtual dub, and make sure to get the settings right (Framerate)

Then save that as avi. you wont be able to play it back, only in editing programs sadly :\ It will look laggy if you play it but it doesnt.

@SwordsandDiamonds You gotta open the demo you want to make a avi file, find the place where you want it to convert and type in console host_framerate 120 or more well you dont have to but i'd suggest it as it goes smoother. then type startmovie name avi and press ESC so you look at the game remember, dont close the game or open anything like console when its doing this as it will be fucked up. And when its at the point where you think you've gotten enough footage then type endmovie
