  • Fascism in 1917 ???...read your history books young man.....Obviously Guardian brain washed readers lol

  • Wrong!!! It's not this version of the song that is sampled on The Queen Is Dead. That version is sung by Cicely Courtneidge.

  • @leylandfg And i know you know better than some of the fascist tw@ts here who completely miss the point- the rest of you, next round's on ME!!!!!

  • @19smokey19 give it up, tw@tface... I'm whiter than you are, and I love the old style more than you ever could. take your fascist tripe and fed it to the trolls.

  • Such a lovely song and a fantastic voice. Florrie Forde was one of the best ever. May she Rest In Peace.

  • Maxiboy, do you need a Chinese woman to teach you your history? Firstly Brit is an Americanism - if you are so gung-ho patriotic, why copy them? The British were the people who were here in Roman times, before the invasions by the Saxons, the Vikings, the Danes and the French. They spoke a language much like Welsh. Is that where you want to be? Floorwarm, you're another - the song is from the 1914-18 war, which certainly wasn't against Fascism.

  • When Britain was populated with Brits and only Brits. What a glorious country we used to have.

  • @leylandfg and @19smokey19. Nice one lads, admire a song from a war fighting fascism, and then vote fascist. Tools.

  • @Floorwarm well said.

  • @Floorwarm

    WW I predates fascism.

  • She sings 'Scouseland' for 'Mancland' in at least one rendition.

  • Love the song. Love the Smiths. Love that the Queen is not dead.

  • the smiths forever!

  • whats the smiths got to do with it?

  • Amen. I love the smiths, but really, it's got nothing at all to do with it.

  • lol,i like the smiths too.

  • @mrarches okay, from 0:36 to 0:57 is what is sampled at the beginning of the song called The Queen Is Dead by the smiths off the album The Queen is Dead.

  • @TheRehsa Nah - the sample at the start of The Queen is Dead is taken from the movie 'The L-Shaped Room' (1962) - a scene where retired musical-hall singer Mavis (Cicely Courtneidge) is leading a chorus of this song...

  • this song starts "the queen is dead"

  • but its like an strange version of this haha
