  • The Tories will be bickering about the EU issue for years and they will never reach an agreement. They can avoid being exposed as clear pro-EU by the ambiguous rethoric of Cameron, but if you really want this to happen, forget about the Tories and vote for UKIP!!

  • Renegotiation how can there even be a negotiation a negotiation has been going on for the past 10 years. Nigel Farage has been fighting our case like tooth and nail to no effect. There is no renegotiation, Brussels dont listen they dont want to listen they dont care they only want there numbers up. You cant negotiate with Brussels we have 10 years of proof on that. There a fascist and very dangerous organisation and the sooner we are out of it the better. Simple as that...

  • By Brittish interest Mr Clegg means the interests of the top 1% & the political class, not the other 99% of people, the political class think we should live in servitude..

The british people are not so thick that they could not answer a simple question.!! in-out or reform? it's about time the political class had more bit more respect of the people they serve..

  • You know the worlds gone mad when agree with keith vaz.

  • Remember clegg has a gold plated pension from the EUSSR.

  • NO to the Fascist EU

  • Democracy 1st, Economy 2nd.

Democracy is 24/7: Fuck all this bull shit that it's the wrong time to have a rederendum.

We the people have spoken and it's time for MPs to do as they are told.

  • Unfortunately the ruling elite will never give the people the chance to vote on this issue because they know the answer to this and other matters such as the death penalty. No wonder so many never vote any more.

  • The Usual Pro-Europe Rhetoric from Nick Clegg, "the whole world will end if we get the hell out of the EU" - What utter crap, the only people who will suffer will be the beaurocrats who are receiving mountains of our cash fro ruining our own economy, career politicians are promised incredibly lucrative jobs in Europe if they remain loyal, however, if Nick Clegg or David Cameron were to speak out against The EU, the would find themselves out on their Ar*es from Downing Street, just like Thatcher.

  • @bringbackmydemocracy That wasn't Nick's rhetoric. He wasn't saying the whole world will end if we get out of the EU but we should be leading and helping the EU because we depend on Europe just as much as we do ourselves.

The best decision comes from balancing individual and group interests.

If you were winning the argument in the nation why would anyone be kicked out of office for speaking out against the EU!

  • @prigg88 But the issue is whether or not we have a referendum, not if we stay or go (not yet anyway!). If the party's whips deny a free vote then MPs will not be considered for ministerial office, which is entirely analogous to being 'kicked out of office for speaking out against the EU'. According to Parliamentary rhetoric on e-petitions the argument has been made in the nation to such a degree that Parliament must respond to the electorate's wish.

  • @WhollyMowly Actually the EU referendum petition hasn't reached 100,000 signatories so according to e-petitions rule its not supposed to be up for debate. I think the LDs & the Tories agree there should be a referendum but the question is when! I don't believe one should be held now but after the eurozone crisis is fixed or when there is a new treaty change which should be pretty soon after crisis is solved.

  • @prigg88 yes it has , it was added to the signtures collected by ukips campaign and the express news paper !!!

  • @prigg88 the one still running is another dulpicate one, if you flip to the second page there is a third , they all get accepted on the system because they have been worded slightly diffrently.

  • @PEABALLS the hillsborough one (the actual one that reached 100,000) is still on the system.

  • @prigg88 Ok i thought you were referring to the e.u referendum my mistake !!

  • @PEABALLS i was but i was using that to point the EU referendum one is still on the system and only has 36,000 signatories which is a very long way from the 100,000 required.

  • Libya showed how to deal with dictators

  • Always new reasons why we can't have a Referendum "now" ... since 20 years.

If we'd had the Ref. years ago, we wouldn't need any more debates.

Of course, if the Brits said NO, I'm sure the Govt. will suddenly WANT a new Referendum , again and again and again .... until a Yes "magically" appears ... like Ireland.

  • To be fair i've just changed my mind Yorkshire just got a big grant for some sexy new projects. Vote IN!!

  • @ukipwarrior The money comes from the UK in the first place

  • The people tell government they want a referendum ... the government and the opposition stick two fingers up at the people ...

That tells you all you need to know ...

    Vote UKIP.
