  • they don't even come close to the actual geographical north pole

  • @lowaces the dont fly over the poles for some odd reason. it would take u 2 hours to get to china

  • @JFAINTER88 they don't fly over it because then people would see a huge hole at the north and south pole and they would realize the earth is hollow

  • @MRbombonel really? yano i would love to prove that, if you could just show me the evidence... becuase right now every single geo scientist is gonna think that isnt truth.

  • @JFAINTER88 evidence? I don't know if I can prove this man, but there are many many clues about this, you can watch this clip here if you're interested: /watch?v=Vfncs1S84k8&feature=relmfu

I don't know if all of those pics are real, some may be hoaxes but they're all pretty interesting. U can believe whatever u want and by the way about those geo scientists u speak, do you think they've gone to the poles to check it out for themselves? No, they just blindly believe what they're told

  • @MRbombonel i dont think that link works

  • @JFAINTER88 yes it works, it's not a link lol, I can't put any link on youtube. you just add the youtube main page in front of the /watch..... I gave you so it will be youtube(dot)com/watch....

  • I live near Philadelphia International Airport and we'd get the jets passing over our house every day. We still do. One of the northeast to southwest approach paths starts right in the middle of Cherry Hill, NJ over the intersection of Rt. 70 & Kings Highway and the other one starts a little north of there and goes directly over the house I grew up in. I used to love listening to the planes going over.

  • Loved the navigator using the celestial positions in the film. Something that you will never see again thankfully due to INS and GPS systems.

  • They don't fly exactly over the pole, only over the rim of it.

  • man i would have loved to been on that flight! that would be sweet!

  • how often do planes fly over the poles? ex. from miami to hong kong, etc

  • My first commercial flight was on Aug 8 1979 when I joined the U.S.Army. It was aboard a TWA 707 from PHX to PHIL. I will always remember that flight (FLT 258) in which I listened to Herp Alpert's hit "RISE". That instrumental song seemed to go hand & hand with the view I had. Slightly forward of the right wing watching the 2 engines hanging on the wing.

  • Through navigational purposes many commercial aircraft are restricted to where they can actually operate in terms of it's latitude. This is due to the operational limitatiions of the IRS Inertial Reference sytems, on the 737 classic this is restricted to 73° N and 60° south. This renders it useless for navigation across the pole, even if it had the capabilities.

  • TG790, A345, HS-TLA, on 10 Nov 05, operated BKK-JFK on a track only 160 NM from the pole.

  • Makes me appreciate the hard work it took to get my A&P licenses...wish I could work on a 707 someday

  • I love these old birds, my first trip on a plane as a little kid was on a United DC-8 from Washington Natl to Chicago O'Hare in 1975.I remember seeing 707's and DC-8's coming into Washington Dulles as a kid in the 70's and 80's. Love the sound of those JT-3's. The good old days of jet travel.

  • Thanks for posting this. What a treat.

  • Amazing that AC Delco (GM) made that INS system

  • Thanks Tim, this is what YouTube is all about. Impossible to find (and share) this material anywhere else. Flaps to 20 please!

  • Is he from Norway?

  • That pilot--Olaf "Red" Abrahamsen--is my uncle, and he ended his career with more than 40,000 hours. A great guy and great pilot.
