What good is to keep your savings in "different currencies" when all central banks around the world keep printing and printing and printing money? Russia should not keep its reserves in western papers but instead in REAL value (e.g. in stocks of profitable western companies, or commodities the western countries can export like uranium ore etc...). If the West refuses to pay in something VALUABLE Russia should stop selling its oil and gas for worthless western papers.

Russia CAN'T stop selling it's oil for dollars because the dollar is currently the world reserve currency. Of course it can then sell the dollars for something else, but it cannot avoid a certain amount of dollar exposure. Of course, Russia among other countries are trying to work out another system, but changing the world reserve currency is a BIG process and will take years to fully complete.
