  • weight reduction and tighten up the body. LOL the supra laughs and says i dont need it :)

  • is it creepy to say my ears had an orgasm? i love that engine. i miss mine.

  • Love the supra. A good 7m is almost impossible to come by these days.

  • Sounds like a JZ at 4k rpm lol Good thing it won everything else cause supra ftw!!

  • AH He's got the original MK3 BOV. It's funny his car still has the sound resemblance of it being stock.

  • Holy launch batman

  • Pinks winner right?

  • Yup

  • @besttrans What did you end up doing with the car you won?

  • shoulda had the headlights down lol woulda went 0.1 seconds faster lol

  • na a 3rz will give more fight to the 2jz...

  • Ha,ha, on ye go the seven emm

  • 420witchdoctor is a toolbox. Big coil pack,,, oh yea, which one? trd throttle body, really thats funny since they never made one.. and the fact that this is all on a ge makes your entire statement jello and you yourself a typical youtube mechanic,,, Thanks and have a nice day

  • why dont he turn off the lights the car will be more aero dynamic

  • Well done, brother.

  • funny, you almost never see em with an auto trans

  • beautiful..

  • God yes, I've run 7M blocks for a long time. I build them normal aspirated, and I can get them into the high 11's.

  • @420witchdoctor No way you get a N/A 7M into High 11's, I got a boosted 5M and I barely can make that at 18PSI, so I turn it up some. (Street tires) Got a VID?

  • @tienshenhan86 I don't have to prove anything to you, for one. The 5M is trash, for two. And for three, the 3.0L 7M-GE I had had TODA cams, scallopped racing pistons, big coil pack, big ass TRD 3-1/4" throttle body, and a 6-puck clutch. All that, and running 11's, I was heavily dissapointed and bought a Datsun pickup to tinker on.

  • i was thinking about going 2j but after watching this im sticking with the 7m!!!!!!!!!1

  • supraquin i 2 steap builds boost by forcing the car to missfire not jus a revlimiter

  • I will never Sell My MK3 or MK4 NEVER!!! I like it much faster than my 3l

  • this is an automatic supra right?

  • One fast MK3 you got there! Love it!

  • my mk3 supra has 125k n still drives like if its a baby i love it!

  • I am the third owner of my 1988 Toyota Supra turbo, and has never blown a head gasket. I blew the valve seals last year, and the transmission, but not the hg.. im at 207k =]

  • how is that possible?

maybe you never push it i think

  • man, that thing has some mean cams

  • LOl @ rev limiter launch

  • LOL ......its called a 2-step, google it

  • How is 2 step different from anti lag? I knew he was using some system to launch in boost which just makes it that much crazier that he didn't even spin a tire. Launching that hard must feel insane.

  • i know 2 step on tubo cars builds up the turbo boost for faster launch.

  • Might want to learn a little about the car before you comment. This car has a GM auto in, he left on trans brake.

To answer your question about two steps and anti-lag, anti lag is used in manual transmission turbo cars to build boost off the line. Two steps are secondary rev limiters to control your launch RPM.

  • Damn you don't see that shit every day!

  • Sean's car is badass, period, just enjoy the video.

    Duane

  • PINKS

  • what a beauty.

  • Damn! Mk3 platform has come a long way in the last few years/

  • yeah ppl have seen how cheap that chassis is and how capable it is, took too long, so parts are limited when you want stock stuff, but if you start finding things that bolt onto it then they just become a better car.

  • Yeah, I'd have to agree. Except with the STOCK 7Ms once you get to 120 000 kilomters (75000ish miles) you're gonna need a new head gasket. Amost guaranteed. Mine lasted to 130. ARP makes a nice high torque kit tho. Plus I've heard you can torque down the stock head bolts, but I'm not sure about that.

  • Not sure where you got your info, but its wrong. I have seen the original headgasket last over 200,000 miles. If you plan on doing and mods to the motor than it is definitely better to upgrade the HG, as it is a weak link.

  • I am absolutely amazed you have seen a stock, from the factory 7M do 200000 miles with no issues. That my friend is a rare as hens teeth. It just doesnt happen. When Toyota were releasing the 7M asbestos was no longer allowed to be used, so they had to change the gasket material but left torque the same, hence the gasket blew due to lack of torque. I think they released them with 55Ft.p, which was not enough for the gasket. You can use stock gasket with 72Ft.P and be safe, cooling must be 100%.

  • I had an 89 turbo supra put down 179K before I blew my head gasket. I know 55ft.p was not enough torque but it's not what causes them to blow. If you notice every time they blow its on the number 6cyl, What keeps happening is the EGR valve gets backed up with hot gases and it blows the HG right in the back of the engine at the number 6 cyl. Remove that EGR valve and block off the engine block and you wont have any problems. If you mod the engine you should replace the bolts with ARP head studs

  • Its a tough one. Mine went from lack of torque, the head gasket itsell was not broken, i would get exhaust gasses in cooling system under acceleration, as you would know you hear it in the cooling system from the heater box. Im not saying your wrong, but from my experiences it was from lack of torque. We rebuilt my engine, stock head bolts and gasket with 68Ft.P, i wanted 72, but my freind, a mechanic said it would be fine at 68, which it was, i drove it for about 100K then sold it no problems

  • Another thing, i was told if your using a stock gasget you dont want to squash it with too much torque. 72Ft.P would be fine, but no need for anymore. Dont think going to 80 will make it any more reliable, it wont.

  • Im not entirely sure what you are even trying to say. Punctuation and grammar go a long way.

  • It's the Supra from Pinks! Nice.

  • yes

  • i saw this supra on pinks and it win's

  • i was wondering if it was the same car. could be.

  • Awesome.... I think I saw this car run at Englishtown over the weekend. I love that he uses the 7m engine.... It definitely seems to live in the shadows of the JZ engines, but it's still a very capable design. Why else would Toyota use the M series engines for over 30 years?

  • that 7mgte sounds like a V8

  • its called cams silly. that is a 7m

  • If you turbo it then yea. Some of the fastest supra's are auto's. You don't lose boost when it shifts and you can brake boost off the line. Look into 7mge-t builds if you end up getting a N/A car.

  • yeah autos are faster. but these SUPER fast automatic supras dont use the A340 Trans. they use Chevy TH350 or TH400 Transmissions. honestly. if u like the feel and drive of a 5speed. look for a Turbo 5spd supra.NOT with a W58 but with the R154

  • I have never heard of that.

  • hey isnt that shawn cassidy's supra

  • Wow that thing sure leaves straight. Congrats on your ET. Most 90 inch wheelbase cars turning ET's like that are terrifying to drive even with coil-overs, 4-link rear suspension and mini-tubs. That Supra makes it look easy.

  • Wow, 7M.

  • thats 7M power for you. that car and engine gives the 2JZ a run for its money!! Go 7M!

  • You are the dumbass. Watch the PINKS episode that this car starts in and its a 7M. And look at other videos with this car on it and the owner of the car confirms that it is a 7M-GTE!!

  • youre right. the 2jz is the best engine toyota ever made. but i have seen a 1,300 hp 7M. Sure there are 1,500+ hp 2JZ's. I didnt say that the 7m can beat the 2jz, I just said that it will give the 2JZ a run for their money. Too many people underestimate the 7M

  • whats funny is the 7M was designed in the mid 80's and it can hang with the 2jz.

idk why we are arguing about 2 motors made by the same company. pointless.

  • the m engine was designed in the 60s, jz engine in late 80s

  • if we are talking about the 5m sure.

  • @mk37mgteboy not only does the 7m give the 2j a run for its money.. when built right 7ms rivall 2jz!! lol

  • fucking beautiful 7m

  • Looks like the same car that won on PINKS.

  • That's because it is ^__^

  • (twinesupra)am from Trinidad and where am from

7ms are rear, and parts are very hard to come by. But i import all my stuff from the states and its ah hole lotta money!! But i just cant help lovin the 7m power!!!

  • clean

  • u cam'ed the piss outa it, im suprized it still has that supra sound

  • what were u thinking before u saw this? I mean what did u expect to hear? a V8 roar? LOL

  • is this at new england?

  • i love it,

  • that's gotta be a 7m, thank god it is.

  • Thats right, 7mgte, turbo 350 tranny.

  • Great supra. Looks just like mine except mines an 89. Except the tires.

  • Yes, mkiiiSUPRAturbo, that's a 7M.

While I'm thinking about it, any idea on how much you're making to the wheels with this setup?

IIRC, You were at 637rw or so during your 10.2 runs.

Congrats, again. Not have you haven't heard that enough, though. ;)

  • Ahh, the great guy who won on pinks haha.

  • Nice Shawn and great to see another 7M in the 9's!

  • GOOD SHIT Shawn

  • WAS THAT A 7M
