This is awesome, I wish there were LARPers in my area. There are some groups around me, but none within arms reach... And I can't afford the gear And the cost to travel frequently.. Me and my friends are working on starting a group here though, and hoping it takes off.. Also, who said there's no LARPs in Canada? I know my neighbors up north have some great groups, Google Canada LARP.

Why? Main point of this battle is in adrenalin rush. And if you don´t know, all you can see in this video is homemade(maybe some piece of armor is from blacksmith).

oh theres larpers in canada, theres a video of like a larping camp for kids to go to. the camp advisors teach them how to fight in ranks and how to larp. its really cool. the video is on youtube but i forgot lol

This is amazing. This is exactly the kind of LARP I would love to be a part of. The camping and marching aspects are great because they would make it seem so real. The realistic armour would do the same. If only I could go to events like this, if only!

My English is so bad, but I'll try to write something about this event. This event isn't LARP like playing roles, but LARP like Battle. This event is about camping, and fighting. It is a fight adrenaline game between two sides, good and evil in LOTR world . We have real metal and leather armour and fight is more realistic than other events. It is brutal! :)))

why is larp so fake, just 2 teams attacking each other on a big battlefield

better tactics would maybe make me want to do this

maybe one side ambushes the other team or one team throws water ballons to kill the enemy, not just 2 teams going to some open plain and attacking each other with hand weapons, kinda boring

That's your opinion because You weren't there...in comparison with this battle, throwing water ballons is "kinda boring".

This battle is inspirated by Tolkien's Middle Earth where, like you surely now, are two oposite teams.

So why to do this battle otherwise?

ueah well just coming, 2 big bayylrd for maybe 4 hours, then done and go home looks boring...in lord of the rings they had many smaller battles...also alot of things in lord of the rings were not battles so if u maybe made a town of elves, another town of humans and so on and only like 20% of people would be soldiers maybe more relistic and fun

You know, this battle is for quiet smaller number of larpers. It's, like Maalflok says, because there are requirements about realistic and functional armor, costumes, weapons or camp equipment.

In addition, this larp represented only one battle of lotr, it wasn't a model of society in middle earth.

This is why there are no peasants or civil-people. It's just brutal and epic battle..
