Joey is famous cuz hes fast and can stay fast and constant for a long ass time, Slipknot is what got me into drumming, he's not the best but he's still very good at what he does. Flo is very fast and very techincal but some people dont like the combonation.
jordison have style with his costume etc, and slipknot is very violent, good and commercial. so don't need to be that much technical or fast, but joey still pretty fast too

@RadoDani well actually flo is a great drummer, but i like more the kollias drumming style...is nothing personal but at least kollias doesnt play in a ¨metalcore¨band...and yeah jazz is pretty technical but it is stupid to compare death metal with jazz... both genres are varied and improvised and has his own style...

what this represents is years of hard work and practice mixed with a natural talent, regardless of style, genera or whatever...much respect, whether jazz, metal, fusion, rock...

Many people don't know that all metal drumming is basically jazz drumming taken to the extreme. Blast beats jazz was doing it before people ever thought death metal would exist. shreds on guitar. jazz did it first.

They all get famous off of mainstream fanboys who think that their mediocre songs and lyrics "show real emotion" and/or are "hardcore".Most of them are talentless 20-30 something posers that everyone will forget about in a few years.

@RadoDani well actually flo is a great drummer, but i like more the kollias drumming style...is nothing personal but at least kollias doesnt play in a ¨metalcore¨band...and yeah jazz is pretty technical but it is stupid to compare death metal with jazz... both genres are varied and improvised and has his own style...

@mayhemguy1993 ... so you don't misunderstand my comment: I am a huge Nile fan but my taste gravitates more towards Flo's funky style (I hope we get more of the classic Cryptopsy in future) But there are two issues here:
1. whenever someone says anything good about any drummer on YouTube there is always some dickhead that starts dissing him and comparing to Kollias (who's hard to dislike, very clean, very neutral)
2. Technical deatmetal does not get the same respect as jazz. I ask WHY????

@RadoDani I can answer the first question but I think the other is at the discretion of each person...in my opinion Kollias performs best in death metal scene... you have said flo goes beyond jazz and funk-latin stuffs ... but I think it's unrealistic to believe that people attack the other drummers and compared with Kollias, hes a great player and has its strengths and weaknesses ... it's nothing personal I just think Kollias is better ...I don't want to offend anybody with what I said ...

I saw Cryptopsy play in Regina like five years ago, this guy did a 2.5 hour set, then went for a jog afterwards to "tire himself out" while the rest of the band drank on the bus. Professional.... all of 'em. haha
