  • He teaches the way I was taught in the Thai Lessons I took. Fuck off Buakaw101hkfan! What are you basing this on?!

  • looks like a cut kick

  • for the low kick I have learned that you dont pivet, you sidestep.. "/

only pivet the highkick.. then again, you have fighters like cro cop that dosent pivet ever.. there are many ways to do it I guess.."/

  • @stesta90 this is true, the only problem with no pivet are the risk of meniscus lession, but u are right, there r many ways

  • This is a proper thai kick.. he teaches it the way my instructor does.

  • Great video for beginners just learning this kick, but I feel there's more to it. Thai kick boxers harden their shins to make their kicks more effective. Personally, I use the lower part of my shin. More power concentrated on a smaller surface area.

  • (scarface1994310) to answer your question your suppose to use the shin bone because its sharp and hard. the more you kick a bag the more the nerves in your shins will deaden so you wont feel anything some fighters in thailand kick banana trees to deaden the nerves my shins are getting there haha i can hit them with a pipe and it doesnt hurt the bone any. anyway hope this helps!

  • nice reading of wikipedia

    in wiki we trust

  • for muay thai u kick with ur shin

  • thanks

  • There's is something I don't understand. Do you hit with your knee, your shinbone or your feet?

Because the first and second wouldn't make any sense or? You only would hurt yourself or?

  • @scarface1994310 Nah you kick with your shinbone, like johnqsimple said he is right

  • Great video and more better instructor

  • very good teaching sir.

  • Nice video, I've never seen the hand in the face move before. One question though. Why don't you step out at 45 degrees with your lead foot to set up the kick. You can get more power and hopefully move out of the way of counter straight punches. You seem to step straight fowards.

  • Thanks man!!! I never knew why Thaiboxer kicked direction down.. Now i understand.. Thank you soo much!! Kind regards from The Netherlands

  • cool didnt know that is why the thai kick was angled down just figured it added to the torque. Thanks!!

  • this viedo is so good !! nice work and more videos

  • of most (if not all!) of youtube MT kick tutorials, your kick techniques is almost true to what my Thai Khru taught - a real nak muay techniques from a Farang :).

Peace n keep up the good work mate. Thanks for sharing!

  • for all you haters:

every martial art has its flaws, and traditional muay thai is no exception. does he lose a little power with this interpretation of the thai kick? maybe. but it can be thrown from lots of different angles, and its versatility almost negates that downside. at short range its damn near impossible to anticipate. set it up with a jab or a short hand combination and you can crack a guy on his thigh, abdomen, you name it.

  • not the best kick technique i ve seen

    i m not a pro

but obviously with this rigidity you cannot reach power and speed,

for a kick, you must be soft, and the balance is far more difficult to feel than what he shows

this is a ufc kick not a thai kick

as buakaw said, the real kick, thai if you want, is always perfectible.

  • shut the fuck up raff98

  • hahaha he dosent sound drunk, he has a man's proper voice, and yeah everything he teaches is perfect

  • he sounds drunk

  • sorry to bother you prestigetraining but i have been training myself for approximatly 2 months and i have been told to kick with the part of the leg that connects the foot to the shin... in essence the lower shin is this correct or have i just taught myself a bad habbit...

  • That is correct, lower shin.

  • it's actually better to kick with the upper shin as the lower shin is fragile, but you can kick with all of your shin bone. When you kick low, its better to go higher. When you do a neck kick, it's better to go with the lower shin or even the instep. When I check kicks, I try to always use the upper shin. That's what I was taught.

  • i was strictly taught to keep the pivot leg straight when kicking..

  • hmm never heard an instructer say that before

  • I've never heard that either since you can do either or depending on the situation.

  • Im new to this man but everything you have shown is CORRECT as to what i have been taught... there are a lot of guys that like to talk rubbish on these posts either give real feed back or shut up..your helping no one but your ego's assholes......

  • Very well done demonstration,Thank you. Did you do some trainging in Thailand?

  • Nice moves man, i'm training thaiboxing myself, and your moves are totally correct. I'm seeing that some people are posting shitty comments, but they are ignorant, don't pay attention to them man. you do what you do, and as long as it's working for you, and you yourself know that, then why bother? hehhe, just invite them your gym, and teach them a lesson bro! Keep up the good work:)

  • you talk like that Rex Kwon Do guy

  • The point of contact is a little bit high on ur shin in my opinion, and u forgot to mention that there is another hand position when kicking (and the best in my opinion) which is of course to maintain a two hand gaurd rather than sacrificing your right hand, you do lose some balance/power but the benefit to ur defence far out weighs this.

  • koking20 wrote "....just take the video off and it will be better for everybody this is the reason so many guys here in the U.S. think they are thai boxers "

--Why don't you post a video on how you kick? Or at least explain, for all I know you fought all your fights with women!! Post or STFU!!

  • i tried the same but i changed it and i found really good attacking skill, lol nothing hard xD u do it with ur left feet but before the hit i little bit like 20 cm or so u jump pull ur leg back and u fast kick with ur right leg and he thinks u gonna hit with the left one xD...i love that trick or what ever it could be =P

  • Well this is Thai Boxing used for the purpose of MMA style fighting. Which is from Team Lloyd Irvin, the number one fight team in the country. Just cause it ain't like you do doesn't mean that it isn't correct. In fact the title of the video says Thai Boxing not Muay Thai. Maybe semantics but still why talk s**t instead of saying something constructive.

  • Hey dude forget these internet tough guys, do you dawg and keep fighting and training like a true warrior.

  • @prestigetraining emm... Muay Thai IS Thai Boxing

  • Hello , I think you are not muaythai fighter

beacause you worst in thai kick , you cant call this kick as thai kick , this kick is very light and slow .then you should learn muay thai in thailand then you understand .

  • somebody teach this guy how to kick

  • oooo you have a nice kick!

  • very nice
