Ok. This was my third and last Gibbard visit, and I'll end with the comment that this cover was unnecessary. Again, stick to the fireside playing, in your house, when you're trying to woo that special lady. If she loves you, she won't leave. Gibbard is music lite, to be fair. Shouldn't have expected more.

i like this song and i have a lot of respect for ben gibbard playing it his own way, i like this version a lot. if you guys wanna complain why dont you make videos of yourselves doing a "better" version of this song and post it as a response. or just keep it to yourselves and learn a lil.

So easy to pick out the real musicians who have commented on this... If you have ever picked up a guitar and wanted to play a cover of someone else's song you would realize that the purpose is not to "out-do" the actual creator, but to put your own spin on it. Gibbard's version is just that, his own take, and it sounds just fine to me.
