This is going to be a failed device and maybe entertaining for a week, just like the Wii and any other gimmicking crap these companies are putting out. Everyone who says it will ruin the system, or make games less hardcore, just pick up a game informer. Most of the games in there are hardcore, and they will come out AFTER Natal. Also, they have already announced hardcore games that will be COMPATIBLE with Natal, meaning it could use Natal or a contoller. And think of how great sucky players will feel when they finally win.

I think this would be alot of fun on a FPS. They have a video that shows natal can scan any items you put in front of it. your own skateboard or whatever. So if your actually holding some type of FPS gun like they have at the arcades. Way better then a controller I think. first of all that was the announcement video and I doubt it would actually work effectively, I doubt most of that stuff was real, even if it works with the current model thy have. But even then, he simply scanned the image in, it didnt register the skateboard so it new he was using it. I dont think there'll even be shooters on it tbh. Unless you have to control it in some stupid way, which would contradict the point of controller free gaming

@drigerf6 If the sensor can read skeletal movements, I don't think it would be very hard to register your fingers pulling an imaginary trigger. That's really not a big concern. The big concern for FPS is how the piece of shit is supposed to register full body movements. How do you go from one point to another in game without going from the living room to the kitchen in your own house?

One big drawback - imagine playing a FPS - you hold your hands up in the shape of a gun. Now imagine playing the game for 4 to 5 hours. Your arms will be in agony. Here, you can prove it. Stick your arms out, right out stretched. See how long you can keep them out. The pain will kick in after a few minutes. I can't see this working with shooter type games, players will not be able to keep their hands and arms up for the requisite amount of time.
I can so totally play with my armas out, good exercise. something alot of people nee that play on the xbox, but I dont know how it will detect a little finger moving.
But that will make shooters more realistic, people that actually know how to handle firearms will have a big advantage over a 12yr old who knows how to press buttons. lol I'll love it, there will actually have to be real skill in shooters then,I'm all for it.

that's why it'll probably be optional. you can use natal or you can use a controller. If not then at the very least gamers across america will start loosing wieght and that can't be a bad thing.
only way i can think of for natal to be really good or fun for longer than one hour is if there are games where you use natal AND a controller.
natal would be really awesome in racing games for example, if you could use a steering wheel like always but use natal for controling the camera (much like track-IR).

that's why it'll probably be optional. you can use natal or you can use a controller. If not then at the very least gamers across america will start loosing wieght and that can't be a bad thing.

only way i can think of for natal to be really good or fun for longer than one hour is if there are games where you use natal AND a controller.
natal would be really awesome in racing games for example, if you could use a steering wheel like always but use natal for controling the camera (much like track-IR).
the same could work for FPS games with gun controllers
such uses are promising but they never mentioned anything close to this, all they talk about is casual, casual casual. fuck that.

It sounds good, but then again, it sounds too good to be true. Sure, the Wii was the begin, but a device that can react that good at a point of time like today... it is kinda hard to imagine. I guess, we have to wait until Xbox Natal is out to see the truth.

dude ur a moron... just because this natal thing is comming out doesnt mean they wont continue to make "hard" games as you say even though there isn't such a thing if u ask me. every game can be beaten rather easily now. The only thing with any challenge is online multiplayer. Also, if a console makes more money.. what happens? they are able to make more games and a better console. and honestly full body halo 3 or cod Mw2 would be pretty amazing but wont happen for many years.

No doubt this stuff is real, they wouldn't be putting their necks out on the line so much if it wasn't. Only question I have about it is what kind of games is this for? Are they targeting the kiddie/family market like the Wii or is this somehow gonna also attract older, hardcore gamers? So far, IMO it seems like its jus for gimmicky, little kid games like the Wii. Hopefully I'm wrong though and they can find some other uses cuz the technology is pretty damn cool.
