After reading about and hearing all of the "firefly" references in my favorite shows (castle, chuck, big bang theory, community ect..) I decided to watch it to see what the buzz was about. I had never heard about it before, but I went on netfilx and spend my weekend watching episodes. I'm on episode 9 and holy crap! THIS SHOW IS SO FRICKIN GOOD! Browncoats - the sorta slang term for the Independants in both the American Civil War and the War of Independence in this tv series. (because in case you hadn't noticed that's what the series is sorta based off :P lol) fans that really love Firefly are often referred to or call themselves Browncoats too :)

@bentotheclarke two versions? I've never heard that before. There's the tv series Firefly, which was cancelled after the episodes were aired in the wrong order so it got really low ratings. Then a few years later they fought back with a brilliant film called Serenity. But I've no idea what you're talking about there being 'two versions' ... but it's DEFINETLY a TV show I'd recommend. I've never once met or spoken to someone who watched Serenity and didn't absolutely love it! :)

@paldesic2009 it was aired several years ago, but it got cancelled after only one series, and they didn't even air all the episodes, but Fox also aired the episodes in the wrong order, so the show got really low ratings, so no one understood it. But if you buy the DVD it's REALLY good, in my opinion - by far the best TV show EVER to air!! There is also a sequel film, to tie up some lose ends, called Serenity. But watch the series first, it's better tht way ;)

awesome awesome...I go away from Firefly for a month or so, then see stuff online and get dragged right back in to a marathon of watching. The show was not given the time to develop and perhaps that is why it is perfect...things so perfect do not last long in our imperfect world.
