Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which has electronic music inspired by great games such as the Castlevania series. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!
ya got nice taste in music my friend, people sometime underlook video game music because its in video games but it doesnt make it less real music and the best
Awesome music - although I've never actually played a Castlevania game (I know, shame on me). I want to give them a try though, what game would people say is the best one? (preferably on DS or GBA)
get an ps1 emulator and download Symphony of the Night(the best castlevania ever, and one of the best ps1 games) or buy dawn of sorrow or portrait of ruin(both 9/10 games)and yeah play em they are da shit
Oh I'm sorry. Did my question offend you in some way? Or have I just not lived up to your gaming standards? Because I'm sure theres got to be a classic game/game franchise that you haven't played that I like, but I wouldn't get all stroppy about it. I was just inquiring as to where I should start. Thanks to the other guys for the replies.
yeah... u know, i apologize. I was quite harsh in my response...sorry that was a stupid thing of me tos say. Not everyone has played everything, even though it may be a very popular title and all... it's just that i've been playing Castevania since i was 11-12 and it baffled me that someone else didnt ever try the games out...
yeah to answer ur questions, I think you should start castlevania games from the basic, easy ones, and work ur way up =)
easy ones? The NES ones were hellishly hard, the SNES ones were good especially super castlevania 4. But hose games are pretty different than the ones that are about exploring, to me these are on another level.
@bikemax19544 dawn of sorrow and symphony of the night were simply the best stories and best gameplay, ecclesia was nice too, i expect more on the 3ds
I am SICK of people coming in late into a franchise, or no...no...not even that, just picking on earlier/first titles just because they didn't have the privelege of being released a decade or two later.
@Ragitsu I'm pretty sure he wasn't picking on the classics. There's a lot of people who love the first entries into a series just as much as all the later ones that just did it better.
@Ragitsu No idea, I've never actually really played the original Castlevania or Dawn of Sorrow. But I have played Mega Man 3 before the original one, as well as the Legend of Zelda games or Metroid and, to me, my statement is true for those franchises. For MM it's better and more balanced weapons, sliding and charging, overall improved game mechanics etc.
For Legend of Zelda, the improvements need no introduction. Metroid neither.
Still, I really enjoy the original games of those series.
This reminds me of Yu-Gi-Oh!

Easily the catchiest theme in the game.
shenloken2 2 years ago
You should put some of Harmony of dissonance too. Despite the "NES-criquet" bass sound, they have some with great aura and a fine melody.
Chapel of Dissonance (the best)
Successor of fate
The Center of the Castle
Clock Tower Casulty

Swingy music + Castlevania = Rarity, Can think of 3 theme from the top of my head.
Not my favourite choice, prefer the Pinnacle more then this, but that's not saying this one rocks. :D
