This song reminds me of my gf whenever she would come to Philly and I'd see her, she would be gone leaving me miserable. But now, over 20 years later I got her and I'm gonna marry her! (insert evil laugh here)
I agree...I purchased every album they made....only thing, I think Hazel was very under rated...it seems as though all of Janices lead songs made it big....they are equal in talent and beauty as far as I am concerned
I didn't realize they did 2 songs with Japanese names/themes. The other one being Sukiyaki which was a classic Japanese song by a famous singer. And this one called "Sayonara". I never heard it before. Sukiyaki was incredible with the whole perfection of Japanese instrumentation. This one is just another song, not particularly anything special.
Where are they today? And where are the Class Acts like this Anymore? The old days R the good days!!!! (facto) Id sure like to be a Hunny sandwich!!!! :) Halla back hommies!!!!! Sup all you Hunny lovers!!!! xoxoxoxo
@loopyman76 Yup I was bout 12 i was born 1970 so 70's nd 80's music was jst off da charts for me... nd since my whole entire family from even dinstant cuzins r into music so growin up listening to all types of music but a taste of honey is jst one of my favorites to say the least
Yes, I believe this was their last album by A Taste Of Honey. After that, the bass player for the group Janice Marie Johnson came out with a few solos, sadly they didn't do all the that well.
this song reminds me of my girlfriend. she lived in nj me in philly. i only saw her 2 times in 20 years before we hooked up. everytime she came to philly and we'd see each other, she'd be gone again--sayonara
This was a funky jam from A Taste Of Honey back in the early 80's, very underrated and should've been released as a single. A few stations played the song but was never released a single.
OMG, you are seriously takin a brotha waaay baaaack with this one. My older brother and I used to play this song in heavy rotation...thanks so much for posting!!!
yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! I have always loved this song and album..My mom used to wear this out and then I started wearing it out...Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you have " I'll try something new"?
Long time no hear. This takes me all the way back to secondary school circa 1983. Great post. Thanks for sharing.

Agreed, its a lesson in production.Very tight synth work.Sadly the music of today is lacking lets go back to the older ways of real musicians playing.
