This is different from people who simply decide to join the party line and serve as cogs in the killing machine. The later is not a biological problem but a character problem. Are you sure that you can define these behaviors as psychopathic? Psychopaths sufferer from a biological deformation of normal human development. It's a genetically rooted disorder. This is different from people who simply decide to join the party line and serve as cogs in the killing machine. The later is not a biological problem but a character problem. Some of these people my indeed be psychopaths, but using the term doesn't seem correct. Psychopath-like behavior might work better.

@publicme Psychopathy is not necessarily a genetic trait. It can be nurtured from childhood by the parents, who themselves are loveless and devoid of humanity, thereby working on, developing, the subhuman instincts of the child.
The psychopathic tendency can be dormant in a person until their late teens or early twenties, and be catalysed by an event that brings it into manifestation.
We all have the potential for good or ill. It depends upon our consciousness and integrity.

Just the other day we had to put their cat down, i've known the cat for 8 yrs,the kid for it's entire 17 yrs it lived for. He showed not 1 bit of emotion as it was put down,nothing,then we get to his manipulation of the household,starting arguements and laughing to himself as everyone around him argues. I knew a woman who had twins, a boy and a girl. She gave all her love to the girl and withheld it from the boy. Even at age three he recognised that his sibling was getting love that was denied him. His response was non-cooperation, aggression and disruption. I repeatedly pointed this out to the mother, but to no avail.

So are you saying that, given that this world is running on, for the most part, market capitalism, then we should expect psychopathy as a natural consequence? Whereas if our economic system were actually humane and based on a collaborative and balanced style of social relations and wealth gain then psychopathy would be exceptionally inexcusable as the system doesn't gain at all from it?
