As a native Texan, a lifelong Republican, I am embarrassed of our Governor, Rick Perry. He is anti-intellectual, refusing to accept the science of global warming and evolution. He has ignored the poor, the mentally handicapped, our schools in pursuit of the presidency. He balanced the Texas budget on the backs of the aforementioned cutting funding for the disenfranchised while awarding his campaign contributors. Texas taxpayers pay for his high life. Partisan polictics rules, what a shame.

I am amazed at the intelligence of Texans. Perry has lived in his $10,000+ mansion since the mysterious fire in 2008!!! As for the problems in Education--Texas is a non-union state, so our AFT can do very little. The problems cannot be blamed on unions, the blame is on shoulders of our conservative TEA. They want to fight about "intelligent" design and not the real problems!
