@jeffchen well obviously he's going to attract the most attention, that's how our minds work. what my point is his technique and posture isn't up to par with WTF standards. But WTF wont check on all it's practitioners so it's up to the school's master to say if their ready while others just want money.
Hello; I say that the peleador of tkd cometio a great unprudence to the free dejarele in order that I should strike his neck. On the other hand it is the funny thing that I have seen
I don't know why you guys keep thinking this kind of videos are real, it just shows they aren't... there is always a guy whos ass its kicked big time in no time!! that doesn't happen in real life, cuz no matter what kind of martial art you practice, if you are a pro, then you have the skills of good reflex, contition and atack and you woudn't get your ass kicked in the first round. I mean, ALL martial arts exist for a reason if they were useless no one would practice a particular one.
Love it lol too funny tkd doesnt stand a chance against muay thai if a good tkd guy and a good muay thai guy fought without any rules the muay thai guy would kill the tkd guy all day
@K186 Agree 100%. Modern/Sport TKD has its issues but this guy does not represent WTF Taekwondo in any way. One could dress a dobok on any un-trained, un-willing to fight person and this video would be just the same.
@K186 A lot of martial artist are. Especially in TKD. I work out with them. I take MT and TKD and Akido. And TKD is not as powerful as MT or Akido. They say it depends on the martial artist. (True) But it also depends on the style. It's both. And this is why most of the time when MT is up against TKD MT wins.
@MrStathis77 many people would argue akido isnt a fighting art at all. styles are different, but ranking them is difficult if not impossible. First off people rank them based on videos and never personal experience. People claim this is more powerful than that, but train in niether.Take it from a guy who trains in 7 martial arts. Different arts are made for different purposes. they work well for their purposes. Akido is not an offensive art. you are comparing apples to tigers.
@ikcjjtt O.K. then out of 20 videos with different fighters in them TKD wins maybe once or twice. Muay Thai wins 95% of the time. HMMMMMMMMMMMM???????????
@kenseisato1989 Maybe he doest muay thai but the TKD is down oo easily. Sometimes you cant tell if it's muay thai because knees and elbows are not allowed.
well it looked more like a kick boxer or someone who's cross trained in TKD.
iv'e never seen a mauy thai practitionor with one hip forward. you don't necassary need to see elbows and knees to see if they've trained in muay thai. usually you can tell by their stance.
@kenseisato1989 Really? I think some muay thai fighters have this stance as well, especailly when you need to block with your elbow and shin, so it'll be easy to do so.
nah TKD is good if they focus on killing the MT fighter's gut with a jumping or turning back kick. This TKD fighter just rushed into the brutal power of the thai fighter, dumb.
@seolma if itf tkd is so much better why is not an olympic sport? i used to train itf now i do wtf and all the people i train with went from itf to wtf and most of them are eastern asian
@ikcjjtt because its overrated... and is irrelevant to the argument which was that ITF>WTF on the grounds of this video but whilst ITF is more widespread it is abused for commercial profit on a much greater scale than WTF.
Also, someone who has consistently studied muay thai for 20 years has almost no chance of beating someone who has studied tkd for 20 years because the muay thai training is extremely bad for your knees and shins and effects start to show from 15 years of training onwards
@SteelSlasher lol it was a joke. I dont beleive in this style war crap. Though honestly what is "muay thai training"? That can change depending on what country u r in, and who is training. In Thailand, your fight career is over at age 19, assuming you live that long from injuries of the intense muay thai fights. Though in the USA, they dont train as brutal, and dont have to. Style v style is pointless. it comes down to the individual and situation. I beat a muay thai guy using TKD, and-
@SteelSlasher and we trained about the same number of years. But i didnt win because i knew TKD. I won because i knew how to fight, he struggled to, i was taller, more reach, more experienced in combat, had more technqiues at my disposal, more weight, more speed, ect. I beat him on many elements, including boxing. It came down to me being just the better fighter. and hell, i beat many karate, kung fu, and MMA guys because of that basic reason, or lose to vise versa.
@ikcjjtt sorry, you cant really tell voice tones in text, it really depends on the person and the training, and speaking of which i have watched this video somewhere else but it was some kind asian tv show
As always, fatasses who don't train and buy their belts and think they are any good suck. No matter what country they come from. No matter what the style. ITF has their share of these fools too. Don't even start attempting to put ITF against WTF.
@ TKDFighterJoe: you are 100% correct! KKW is the dan issuing body for TKD...and this was a fat kid vs an athlete. Put a chubby recreational Muay Thai athlete against an athletic TKD player and the result would be the opposite.
the WTF does not issue black belts, kukkiwon does. Furthermore, having a blackbelt in taekwondo does not mean you are a competitor, physically fit, or have good skill. It means very little. On top of that this guy had no taekwondo stance, movement or technique that would make me think this was a legitimate test of taekwondo ability. On top of all that the setting is muay thai friendly.
Seriously, a world full of haters hating on something they do not properly understand.
TKD is a great sport, lots of fun and great exercise. As a black belt who competed all over the U.S. I would recommend it. If you want to learn how to fight however, I would strongly advise against it. I cannot think of a martial art more poorly suited of street fighting. TKD relies on moves and techniques that are entirely unrealistic and have a low percentage of success. If street fighting is what you want go to BJJ or Wrestling, thats a reality you cant escape. Sorry to break the news.
Muay Thai rules yada yada ok we know that . But my boy had his lead hand waaaaay too low. TKD should have faked leaf and went with a right kick or a cross and would have hurt him.
@atg27111 dude you guys are soo lame saying a martial art sucks or doesnt work go on other videos and you will see its the fighter not the style jesus
@neilmma tkd is all flash with no results. if you must know 90% of all fights end up on the ground. so boxing and wrestling are very important styles to pick up. not round house kicks. tkd lol what a joke
@atg27111 man thts what u think who are u to say shit like tht and ive done mma before (bjj muay thai wrestling) and yea there great but theres nothing wrong with tkd at all i prefer the fast kicks so i dont end up hurting my leg by kicking to slow and it getting blocked with his shit so dude fuck off anything u say wont change my mind keep your thoughts to yourself

what an idiot, he is a disegrace for TKD and give shame for those who use tkd sucessfully in kickboxing (e.g. keiji ozeki, sherkan yilmaz). well nice kick from the MT guy
I did six years of Taekwondo and a few years of Muay Thai and let me say, as much as people love to bash TKD to make themselves feel tougher, in all fairness, that TKD fighter obviously sucked. His footwork was terrible.
Taekwondo is not a "top-tier" street combat martial art, but don't judge it by this one pussy.
The fighter has a lot to do with it, but to say its ALL about the fighter is simply wrong. If a fighting style consisted of standing on one leg and windmilling, the fighter wouldn't mean shit. In the same token, Muay Thai, Kyokushin, Sanshou, ect tend to be more efficient at hitting the other guy while avoiding damage thank TKD, most kung fu, ect.
Peter Aerts and Ernesto Hoost got the better of him, using Muay Thai. Do you think they would have done so if they used Taekwondo, or wing chun, or Tai Chi instead? Hug cross trained in Muay Thai actually, because he knew karate by itself wasn't complete enough for K-1. Don't be silly. Saying all martial arts are equal is just stupid. Some are dominant and preferred in fighting sports, because they WORK BETTER.
Why did you use Andy Hug as an example of TKD in the first place? He did Kyokushin/Seidokan Karate, which have more in common with Thai boxing than typical TKD/Karate styles. You showed him fighting a Thai under knockdown Karate rules as proof of "beating" Muay Thai? You also failed to answer the FACT that most dominant fighters use Muay Thai, PERIOD.
Why do most people think it's weaker than Muay Thai? Are you actually saying that someone training one year in Muay Thai will be an EQUAL fighter to someone training one year in TKD? Why do people like Peter Aerts, Mike Bernardo, Ernesto Hoost Masato NOT feel the need to train TKD or Karate? Why does almost every Karate practitioner feel the need to at least cross train seriously in Muay Thai before taking part in something like K1?
And who the fuck are those two? Except for Andy Hug, you haven't shown me one person you can name in your favor. What are their fight records? Their names? How do you know that guy is even Muay Thai, and not standard kickboxing? How long have they trained? See, the videos you TKD defenders use as proof of equality can't even be defined. Show me a pure TKD guy at an elite level not failing. I can certainly show you HIGH LEVEL TKD guys getting beat, due to INFERIOR STYLE.
You really think if Andy Hug trained in Wing Chun instead of Kyokushin and Seidokan Karate, he would have been as good of a fighter as he was? Some styles work better for MOST PEOPLE than others. If your statement was true, we'd have Tai Chi champions in K1 and Taekwondo masters holding UFC belts, a snake fist master holding the Strikeforce belt, ect ect. The reality is, some styles allow the individual to more efficiently beat up the other guy.
@chiconspiracy You think there are no Taekwondo Experts holding UFC belts? WRONG! Incase you didn't know Anderson Silva is Taekwondo and he's a champion. Former Champ Lyoto Machida does Karate. The person who took the belt from Lyoto Machida, Shogun Rua does Karate (He's even a Blue Belt!). Taekwondo Expert Serkan Yilmaz was former K-1 champion. (He has a losing record now tho). Former K-1 Champion Andy Hug, (He never continued to be a Champ because of his death or he lost to some guy,I think).
Fail. Anderson Silva uses MUAY THAI in his fights, he says so himself. If you look at his instruction series, he shows Muay Thai, not karate, not TKD. Just because he trained it doesn't mean he uses it. Lol, Shogun, MUAY THAI, beat the best Karate user in all of MMA. Andy Hug did Seidokan Karate, and Kyokushin, which have NOTHING to do with TKD. Yilmaz was a champion of what in K1? He lost to 7 people using primarily MUAY THAI. Yilmaz, BEST TKD ever in K-1, went 3 wins 7 loses!
@chiconspiracy FAIL. Anderson Silva used a Taekwondo's Turning Side Kick to win once,and did i ever say that Yilmaz was having a good record? I said he has losing record.
Answer This Question: DO you think its all about the fighter? Or Taekwondo is weaker? Or Taekwondo is stronger? I mean even George St. Pierre is still a champ in the UFC.
You really think the turning side kick is unique to TKD? Thai fighters use it too. Although, they must be doing TKD by your logic. You think using one movement that happens to exist in TKD makes him a TKD guy? George St. Pierre originally trained Kyokushin Karate, which doesn't suck like TKD. He currently trains BOXING AND MUAY THAI. Does he use TKD in his fights? Hell no.
@chiconspiracy I SAID. Anderson did Taekwondo AND Anderson got him with a kick used in TKD and Does he use Karate in his fights? Hell Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TKD has very few kicks that can't be attributed to another style using them FIRST. For centuries in Japan (at least) and thousands of years in China, people have been using TURNING BACK KICKS. Seidokan Karate has the jab and the cross...does that mean when I'm in a boxing gym, I'm using seidokan Karate? Fuck no. Same with TKD. Anderson Silva says HIMSELF that he primarily uses MUAY THAI. Get over it. Muay Thai has the turning back kick. They had it before TKD EXISTED.
So if Shogun had used only Tai Chi tactics against Machida, by your logic, he would still have won. When I stopped doing useless wing chun, and started lessons in Muay Thai, I just MAGICALLY became a better fighter. You know, since the style doesn't matter.
ese flaco no sabe nada desen cuenta q ni caminar sabia es re cualquiera es re trucha esa pelea x no lo ponen a ese de muay con alguien q sepa de verdad ridiculos
LOL the ref has no business handling the fighters LOL he tried to help him and just threw him. Nice timing by the kickboxer though he timed the TKDs guys move nicely.
Getting kick from a muithai fighter is like getting hit with a baseball bat. Basically from the knee down to the ankle muithai fighter aim for bone to bone contact. If u don't trained for pain like those fighters. U will feel it n really feel it the next day. Trust me I study taekwondo before n spar with muithai fighters. Our biggest flaws is that we don't train for pain n our body aren't used to taking bone to bone hits.
When you fight against other disciplines., Always keep their guard up, like taekwondo players always make that mistake. not also forget that our taekwondo is a martial art, not just a sport
@leotaebo man, i think he even doesn't deserved a taekwondo black belt because it is an honor for it. he is suck! even if he is not in taekwondo and maybe in muay thai or kickboxing, he is still sucks.. I will never call him a taekwondo black belt, he deserves a white belt.
Get easy black belt in McDonald.

This shows the flaw in TKD actually, black belts are easy to get.. just do the pumse right and you got a belt upgrade.

I did six years of Taekwondo and a few years of Muay Thai and let me say, as much as people love to bash TKD to make themselves feel tougher, in all fairness, that TKD fighter obviously sucked. His footwork was terrible.
Taekwondo is not a "top-tier" street combat martial art, but don't judge it by this one pussy.

putting disadvantage on himself.he deserve it.unrealistic version of tkd
khairuleven 1 year ago
Olympic TKD that only promotes the use of kicks, and no guard. Of course you're gonna get the fuck knocked out of you.

Lmfao thats why WTF takwondo sux... when you see them fight you say... what the fuck
arwidcool 1 year ago
Comparing martial art is stupid, but must compare the fighters. There are many great TKD fighters who can break that Muay Thai guy into pieces..
mongolnudraga 1 year ago
@mongolnudraga
So you have to find "great" TKD fighters to fight an average no-name Thai boxer....
I think I know why I went with Muay Thai to begin with.
chiconspiracy 1 year ago
@chiconspiracy : i didn't mean that. i was just saying that there are many better tkd fighters than this weak dude
mongolnudraga 1 year ago
@chiconspiracy I agree with mongulnudraga... It's all about the fighter.
ymk19 1 year ago
@ymk19
The fighter has a lot to do with it, but to say its ALL about the fighter is simply wrong. If a fighting style consisted of standing on one leg and windmilling, the fighter wouldn't mean shit. In the same token, Muay Thai, Kyokushin, Sanshou, ect tend to be more efficient at hitting the other guy while avoiding damage thank TKD, most kung fu, ect.
chiconspiracy 1 year ago
@chiconspiracy You really don't know about fighting.
ymk19 1 year ago
@ymk19
By your logic, training methods and techniques have nothing to do with the fight. That is IDIOTIC, plain and simple.
chiconspiracy 1 year ago
@chiconspiracy It's all about the fighter. If you think thatTaekwondo/Karate is weaker then Muay Thai. Then watch this video.
Here's the link: watch?v=QvFDjvAf10o
If you watch it...You'll know. Plain and Simple. :)
ymk19 1 year ago
@ymk19
Some are dominant and preferred in fighting sports, because they WORK BETTER.
chiconspiracy 1 year ago
@chiconspiracy Still not good enough? Ok. ONE MORE TIME!!!

ymk19 1 year ago
@ymk19
You also failed to answer the FACT that most dominant fighters use Muay Thai, PERIOD.
chiconspiracy 1 year ago
@chiconspiracy Cuz most of the people think that Karate is weaker then Muay Thai. So im helping it too, PERIOD
You want me to help Taekwondo again? OK
Link: watch?v=-cl8_Hj3Ao0
ymk19 1 year ago
@ymk19
Why does almost every Karate practitioner feel the need to at least cross train seriously in Muay Thai before taking part in something like K1?
chiconspiracy 1 year ago
@ymk19
I can certainly show you HIGH LEVEL TKD guys getting beat, due to INFERIOR STYLE.
chiconspiracy 1 year ago
@chiconspiracy They are FIGHTERS to be EXACT. ITS ALL ABOUT THE FREAKING FIGHTER!!!
ymk19 1 year ago
@ymk19
The reality is, some styles allow the individual to more efficiently beat up the other guy.
chiconspiracy 1 year ago
@chiconspiracy You think there are no Taekwondo Experts holding UFC belts? WRONG! Incase you didn't know Anderson Silva is Taekwondo and he's a champion. Former Champ Lyoto Machida does Karate. The person who took the belt from Lyoto Machida, Shogun Rua does Karate (He's even a Blue Belt!). Taekwondo Expert Serkan Yilmaz was former K-1 champion. (He has a losing record now tho). Former K-1 Champion Andy Hug, (He never continued to be a Champ because of his death or he lost to some guy,I think).
ymk19 1 year ago
@ymk19
Yilmaz, BEST TKD ever in K-1, went 3 wins 7 loses!
chiconspiracy 1 year ago
@chiconspiracy FAIL. Anderson Silva used a Taekwondo's Turning Side Kick to win once,and did i ever say that Yilmaz was having a good record? I said he has losing record.
Answer This Question: DO you think its all about the fighter? Or Taekwondo is weaker? Or Taekwondo is stronger? I mean even George St. Pierre is still a champ in the UFC.
ymk19 1 year ago
@ymk19
Hell no.
chiconspiracy 1 year ago
@chiconspiracy I SAID. Anderson did Taekwondo AND Anderson got him with a kick used in TKD and Does he use Karate in his fights? Hell Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ymk19 1 year ago
@ymk19
They had it before TKD EXISTED.
chiconspiracy 1 year ago
@chiconspiracy But still. It's all about the fighter.
ymk19 1 year ago
@ymk19
So if Shogun had used only Tai Chi tactics against Machida, by your logic, he would still have won. When I stopped doing useless wing chun, and started lessons in Muay Thai, I just MAGICALLY became a better fighter. You know, since the style doesn't matter.
chiconspiracy 1 year ago
@chiconspiracy ??? Whaddya mean?
ymk19 1 year ago
@chiconspiracy Cancel the Shogun Rua part. xD
ymk19 1 year ago
@chiconspiracy I'll cancel the Shogun part (He isn't Taekwondo or Karate). I'll replace it with Champion George St. Pierre.

When you fight against other disciplines., Always keep their guard up, like taekwondo players always make that mistake. not also forget that our taekwondo is a martial art, not just a sport
leotaebo 2 years ago
@leotaebo man, i think he even doesn't deserved a taekwondo black belt because it is an honor for it. he is suck! even if he is not in taekwondo and maybe in muay thai or kickboxing, he is still sucks.. I will never call him a taekwondo black belt, he deserves a white belt.
