  • Aplausos desde Buenos Aires!!! Me encanta!!!

  • it's smaller than an ukulele and has 10 strings .

sir not anyone can play that instrument(at least not as good as you)

  • @Jetluffyq8 - graziemille

  • Divertente interpretazione, non filologica (!!) di landino. Magari a lui sarebbe piaciuta; ogni ricerca in campo musicale e' meritevole e Bill comunque suona benissimo ed ha una voce gradevolissima

  • I do not pretend to any real knowledge ot the eras or the composers thereof, but simply love the sound of the instruments and the music composed for them. Therefore, I applaud you for your promotion of the genre, Bill, and this piece is lovely to my ear.

  • Agreed. I saw this performed at USC yesterday. You are absolutely correct. But, am still glad the guy gave it a shot.

  • grazie ancora but i did not write the song - francesco landini did.

  • a charango prototype - called "chitarrino diuerso" - appeared in "gabinetto armonico pieno d'istromenti sonori" - plate n° 100 - as compiled by filippo buonanni (1716.) there are earlier carvings in spain and s.a. of small, guitar-like instruments but nothing as definitive as this italian reference.

in the early music context, "something from south america" is praise indeed but it was never my intention to re-enact - merely to sing and play. i hope you enjoy it for what it is.

  • With such elegance - you have such a wonderful feel for this material and your voice really suits it.. I applaude you and will try to emulate *grin* More power to your fingers... cheers, Nick

  • thank you sir - i bought a copy "singing early music - the pronunciation of european languages in the late middle ages and renaissance" - timothy j. mcgee, editor ... but haven't cracked it open once. i figure there were isolated valleys all over europe ... peculiar pronunciation galore - odds are at least one of them sounded yankee.

  • EN serio.... muy bueno.....

  • Bravo!

  • Hey Billo! I love it! Miss you guys so much! Sarana

  • smooch!

  • totally different from other pieces I've heard from Landini in my History of Music lessons, this one has a South American flavour

  • Great playing, bill--and singing, too! How is that tuned?

  • sorry robert for not responding sooner. i tune my charango ff-BbBb-dD-gg-cc ... a step down from traditional tuning and with a twist.

  • felicidades, muy bonito!

  • O bard of Sarteano, a Charanguista and you sing like a bird... yes you do!

    Gobsmacked.... Bill this class!

Eleven out of Ten - keep 'em coming

  • Veramente...delizioso ! Bravo Bill ! Ci va molto bene il charango a questa melodia primaverale, ogni nota è una giostra di colore ! mi sembra anche un suono cosí "exótico" con quest'affinazione!!! bravissimo !!! ne voglio ancora di più!!! dai!!!
