I will track it down, but look for live versions of Take Hold of the Flame from 2009, he's still got it, he's been steadily improving since around '04. I think he's been practicing!
dude,no one loves the g man as much as me ,but some live shows u can tell its not what it was,and i am going to look for t.h.o.t.f 09 cause i havent seen what your talking about,1997 he still sounded alright, back in the 80s were perfection not even for sounding like the record but it terms of a perfect live sound,i watch alot of qr shows and there just not the same, not meaning quiet riot lol
@watdascrew Yeah, this must have been one of the last tours where Geoff tried to sing the line "the mirror never lies" properly. It's a really difficult vocal that he used to be able to do effortlessly, but he's obviously struggling with that here, and stopped trying to hit it shortly therafter.
This was THE last of the Great Queensryche. When DeGarmo left it was NEVER the same again..... This great band was missing that sound, that tone. DeGarmo...
It's interesting listening to this song from each tour and hearing how with each year Geoff's voice struggles a bit more with the high notes. I know he doesn't sing them anymore when they do this song live. When exactly did he stop going for them?
well, the cancer sticks fucked up his voice real bad during the 90's. But he quit smokin a couple of years ago and today he hasn't sounded so good since like 1991.
That is awesome footage of the band in their prime! They still kick major ass today, but nothing beats the original 5! As I recall the South American shows were the last performances with Chris De Garmo! Amazing!

Wow, was this really the last show that Chris played with the band? No wonder. He doesn't seem to be his usual self here.
