the family that lived here, were in a catch 22 situation, they were broke but could have earned a lot of cash just from showing fans around the place, as they did here. but then that would have led to them being kicked out probably! remember elvis's family had to go cause they earned between them more than the allowed income for the projects.

Well and truly said my friend Elvis77. After all remember whatever Elvis earned he threw it all away gave almost everything away. So for him to wish his mother back by trading all he had would seem not something of the impossible. Especially when his marriage broke up proving to him that not every woman who seemed very quiet and good in outward appearances were anything like his mother! And she did have a temper but lived up to what she was a loving and good woman!

this apartment has been restored to its fifties glory and is available for viewing and rental today!

I wish they had a before and after video, I heard they restored it and even saw some of the pictures, it must have took a long time to restore it, when it was tore up this bad. Is the area still pretty bad? Do they have trouble renting it? It would be nice to see though.

Sad what happened to this apartment, I am sure Elvis and his family had hard times here but their closeness made them look back fondly at the time they lived there, I think Glady's was overcome with Elvis fame and probably wished at times they could just go back to times at these places they lived. How can people tear a place up like this?

Times must have been real hard here for Elvis and his family but somehow they probably looked back fondly of the time because of their closeness to each other, Glady's I think was overwhelmed with Elvis success and I think probably was almost happier at homes like this.
