I think people forget that, despite being a larger-than-life celebrity, she's still a human being. Kurt was a human being too. When she sees a picture of Kurt, she doesn't see a "rock god," but her widower. She probably gets tired of people who didn't know him acting like they did, or that they knew him better because they worship him as a rock icon -- and she doesn't. But the people who worship him didn't even know him. And besides, it's HER show. She wants to be recognized for her own sake.

A female rocker can be as good as a male rocker, but the male will sell more just because popular opinion is that women shouldn't be in rock music; they should be in pop music. It's the same for female rappers. Male rappers on average sell about four times what a female rapper does -- simply because of gender.

That and I am part of a Riot Girl band and love that genre to death.
