  • You Can Walk On The Ground? This Game Is A Shit!!!

    BUT i love Mario Games

  • @CarBitGTSaxen you can only walk on the ground because they never fineshed the first level

  • this could have been the Mario version of Sonic CD if they put time and effort into finishing it...why hotel mario? guess that was easier to make.

  • I think it's a good thing this never saw the light of day.

  • This game was cancelled and they made this game in ''Hotel Mario''.

  • does anyone know how unfinished this game is 30% 40%? more? thanks

  • This would have been the first good CD-i game.

  • @superluigi132 and only good game

  • I hope she made lots of spaghetti

  • They canceld this for Hotel Mario, what bullshit lol ,even unfinished this game is superior.

  • This badly needs to be made into a Super Mario World SNES mod.

We have lunar magic, these days.. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

  • Somehow they turned this into Hotel Mario. It would have been most epic to have this game as a finished platformer with thsoe oh-so-cheesy cutscenes and lotsa spaghetti.

  • @ZeldaMario24 I think Are1c means that somebody should hack into the ROM and finish the game. As it is now, it's REALLY incomplete. But if somebody could edit the ROM, then that person could complete the game. (and maybe distribute it... It looks really fun. :D)

  • Romhackin' time!

  • @Are1c this is not a rom hack this is an original game but its cancelled

  • this looks like it sucks...

  • I wonder if some hacker will come and finish this game...

  • Nintendo wouldn't allow Philips to release Mario's Wacky Worlds, because they knew a game this well made, would mean a massive blow and set back for the SNES. I believe Nintendo obstructed the Mario and Zelda games to be good, by illegally paying off the developers of those games behind philips back for making them as lame and shitty as possible. Typical Nintendo. Just like Nintendo wouldn't allow Capcom and Konami develop games for other systems. Fuck those Nintendo nazi's!!!!

  • @indivum:

What the fuck is this shit I'm reading?

  • This machine was far superior than anything else on the market in 1991. Just look at the gorgeous backdrops and those enemy sprites. Such a shame it could never show off it's full potential due to a lack of good game developers. Even though it wasn't designed to be a games console, it would have blown the SNES and Megadrive out of the water with ease!

  • @indivum actauly the cdi could not handle many sprite and had no mode 7 capipilitys and was a slow machine

  • This looks far from completed (they hadn't even added the collision detection yet), but if it had been finished, it would have been kinda cool. The so-wrong-it's-right CDi system had hardly any platformers and this would have helped.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow. You can't die or even get a penalty for falling off the edge. This is almost as bad as Big Rigs.

  • @luigi580 This is an incomplete game that a lot of people had to kill to get their fucking hands on dickwad.

  • @luigi580

Does "UNRELEASED" ring a bell to you? At all?

  • Wow This Is Awful...

  • @BurpyTheWolf

    It wasn't finished silly!

  • im so glad this didnt get released and i know nintendo would never remake this because it will tarnish the mario franchise. Another reason why i think it was cancelled thumbs up if you agree

  • To anyone who want to play this beta, go to the Quebec Gamers link in the description and there you can download the rom for free, to use it in a CD-i emulator or burn it to play on a console. The site is in french but Google translation does a pretty good job for english (but even without it, the download symbol near the bottom is pretty obvious).

  • 0:10 you can float in midair? whats the point?

  • @derf55509 you forget that this is a tech demo, they were still working with collsion detection and the like, which explains the floating fail

  • It's a darn shame this game was canceled.

Because it actually looked DECENT. The art in this game is pretty cool, I like the backgrounds and how the enemies LOOK like they were going to change via what level you were on.

If only it was finished. I'm surprised nobody has made made a SMW ROM hack based off of this game. Just keep the cheesy-filled cut-scenes out and BAM! This could have been a good game. Or at least decent. =(

  • Putting a Koopa on every column is pretty hardcore.

  • Seems like it's in the Alpha stages.

  • No this was going to be on the snes philips cdi attachment which never came out then that is how we got the crap sack:Hotel Mario

  • They probably didn't make it because it was against the law to put good games on the CD-i.

  • @CrashBandicoot68 It was also against the law for them to even make games after there last few failures.

  • @CrashBandicoot68 It was not against the law because philips had a deal with nintendo..

  • @macvz I know, the joke is that there are no good games on the CD-i and there would never be one.

  • fake, CID music sint wasnt the same as snes, so why it has the same treble as the snes?

  • @1300l Do you meen the CDi's synthesized sounds were different from the SNES? Boy, that's abvious. But listen here, it a CD based game! They could of ripped the music, converted it to MP3, (or WAV) then they could have just put it on the disk, problem solved.

  • @InsanimationStudios Yea, thats why im desapointed of the riped SNES music, i whant to see a newer mario music game rip, or even fan made musics.

  • This looks boring as hell

  • @Therealqtip It's a proof of concept demo, it's not even a quarter of the way completed. It's not saposed to be fun yet because it doesn't have to be.

  • Why did they make another game for another console using the same Super Mario World Sprites??

  • the concept of mario travelling in world locations fighting historical-ish enemys is very good indeed

  • Someone on youtube(dudaw12) is remaking this...sorta. It's a Super Mario 64 hack called, "Super Mario 64:Wacky Worlds". It's actually really good, better than this could've been(at least by how this looks).

  • hahaha doesnt look horrible

  • fake and gay u be trolling

  • yeah nice piece of shit

  • i just shat out of my face

  • @grinick NICE

  • the way you can't die reminds me of a certain flash game with repetitive credits music that involves burning a rope...

  • this look like an all right game

  • i can just imagine the sun chasing you over those dunes.

  • Ignoring the plagiarism, this looks okay-ish on its own, but it wouldn't be a good idea to get it for your kids and have them always see it as a bad version of SNES Mario. And considering the price of CD-I, its not a matter of money but of doing your homework.

  • too bad this would have been the only good cd i ever made

  • Remake this on wiiware, and it'll sell a ton!

  • @sportygrrrrrrl11998: yeah and it should be called New Super Mario World ^^

  • @sportygrrrrrrl11998 Remake that, and give us a brand new Kid Icarus Re-Boot instead of just seeing Pit in a Smash Bros game. They remade a vague game like A Boy And His Blob, why did they leave out a game as popular as Kid Icarus?

  • @sportygrrrrrrl11998 they'd have to take out the afganistan level

    JK

  • @sportygrrrrrrl11998 it wasn't made by nintendo

  • LOL

WTF Enemys can't hurt mario ?

    Easyest Mario game Ever xD

  • and you cant fall off the screen apparently

  • It's a shame this wasn't finished because a clone of Super Mario World would have easily been the best game on the CD-i. And Novalogic isn't half bad as a developer either.

  • Actually, there still IS a sequel to SMW, but I sure you never heard of it now..what was the title again..hmm..it's called something..oh yeah HOTEL MARIO!!

  • actually the sequel was SMW2:yoshis island

  • you suck

  • I did that once.

  • If only it came out, because it would probably mean more hilariously bad cut scenes ala "The Faces of Evil" and such

  • lol mario is master cheat, no death or falling off cliffs xD

  • WTF

  • haveing to hear hte same damn music every level whould annoy the shit outta me

  • LOL, it's impossible to die on this level.

  • its in a really early beta stage

  • why did they cancel this? this would of been a great game!!!

  • So does your comment.

  • It was on the CDI, give "it" a break. This would have been the official sequel to Super Mario World.

Yoshi's Island would have been the prequel probably.

  • Someone should make a mod out of this.

  • looks like the only fun cdi game

  • LOL.

It looks like it actually would have been a GOOD game for that system.

My god, what could have been.

  • Wtf mario can't die, falls and never die

  • This game was only 30% complete.

  • Im scared D:

  • wat exactly is cd i

  • It's a cd based video game console by phillips

  • it was a crappy console released that was supposed to have movies interacting with the video games but it turned out to be crap

  • You gotta love the spartan koopas in Egypt XD

  • Lookers funner then any of the games that made it to the "console".

  • looks fun

  • no nigga

DiosBabilonia look hotel mario sucks gay niggers

  • NO RIDICULOUS SCENES?

    Hotel Mario is better.

  • We SMW hackers could defenitively make this game complete... Rip the gfx off of it and make the levels.

  • this game looks great compared to hotel mario or the zeldagames

  • this would have probably been the only good CDi game if it were finished

  • To be honest, at this stage it looks like an ameturish flash game, although it had ALOT of potential, I can see why they would have a lot of problems with quality, seeing as there was probably 5000 different f****ing ways they could butcher it.

  • This game would have made the CD-i soooo much better.

  • If they had completed it, this could have been promising.

  • Actually Chav, it looks rather decent, and playable, and almost like Nintendo did it, rather than those crappy cdi Zelda games. If you want to see true horror, then check out the cdi Zelda games. Those are an abomination.

  • The graphics in Wacky Worlds is ok, but look at the game physics. Collision detection, enemy handling etc. Considering the quality the other CD-I games had when they were released, I don't think this one would've been much improved over the proto.

  • @ZippoPrower94 And that would have meant more YTPs

  • somebody should try to finish making the game, only, please redesign the levels... do it some justice!!! it didn't deserve to be raped by philips.

  • I think you mean made.

  • this is the kind of game that may have saved the cdi

  • The koopas are dressed like Roman centurions, lol

  • When Philips make a game, they sure do make one.

    (One that sucks)

  • wow... thanks so much on finding all these vids of Games that never were released.

  • By the looks it reminds me of

    Mario is Missing

    1. You don't take Damage

    2. You never die

    3. Takes Place on real world

  • remember the game's barely 20% complete though

  • It's like Mario got into the Twilight Zone or something/

  • With a lot of work I think this would had actually been a good game.

  • We should look at the ceiling and hope for some spaghetti becauze the game sure is creepy.

  • its funny how phillips released hotel mario... but not this...?

  • Why.....The hell......did they make hotel mario and not this? Sure it has glitches, but this wasnt finished yet. I think this might have been a good game, but noooooo. Hotel mario.

  • Oh my god! A shitty game!

  • >.> Hotel Mario

  • looks bad

  • well, wacky worlds is god compared to hotel mario

  • in my opinion.... the only reason cd-i failed was because of the crappy-ass videos and cutscenes cuz the games themselves werent that bad

  • looks good

  • Reason to buy a CD-i gamers.

  • No, it's really not. This game wasn't released. Therefore, it's actually a reason NOT to buy a CD-i. Had it only been made, it would have been good.

  • From what I've heard you can get this prototype to play on a CD-i.

  • Oh, you can, but it's all after-the-fact. This game was never purchaseable in a store. You have to secure it some other way (emulated or something like that).

  • Yeah, I just read a review of it and apparently you can find it on eBay. I also expect that you could download it and burn it onto a disc to put into the CD-i.

  • how was this made available?

  • Someone must have got a-hold of the game and dumped the rom inside

  • this would probably be the most playable cdi game. thats not saying much tho...

  • lol you can't fall

  • Interesting, it seems like a cool game they could've done a lot with. The graphics were good and it was fun to see a variety of locations and enemies, it would be interesting to see nintendo pick this up and try and complete it for the virtual console. If they do it right it could make one hell of a sequel to Super Mario World

  • All the sprites are based on Mario's games? And that Background?

  • I have never saw that much detail in backgrounds until the Wii. If Nintendo took over the CD-I instead of third oarty developers, who knows what could have happened? Great things, based on this game.

  • Heh, I know it was prototype, but that music drives me nuts after a while. lol

  • yay this comment has nothing to do with the below argument ^-^

  • The Phillips CD-i was undoubtedly the best console ever made.

  • uh, no. Have you heard of youtube poop?

  • ever heard of sarcasm?

  • ever heard of GETTING A LIFE?!!!

  • lol wut?

  • Yes. I've been "over it" this whole time.

  • "ever heard of GETTING A LIFE?!!!"

Now this is a valid, informed, and completely discussion related argument with an impeccable display of proper grammar.

  • You're stupid.

  • oh, I'm scared!

  • Yeah, you're dumb.

  • ever heard of sarcasm?

  • Yes. You, apparently, have not.

  • o fuck u already

  • Question? Why THE HELL is the SMW music looping over and over again?

  • Because there's not another music programmed for the level... This is in fact a simple port of SMW for CD-I.

  • Philips CD-I , where there's beta , theres DINNER

  • This doesn't look as bad for the sole reason that it looks more like a SMW hack. At least they didn't try to make their own atrocity like with Legend of Zelda.

  • I saw on Internet philips showed the game to nintendo, WITH A FINISHED LEVEL WHICH SHOULD MEAN THERE IS ANOTHER PROTO! (btw Nintendo was amazed by the work)

  • They weren't "Amazed by the work" but of the possibilities. Like the background and visual images.

  • how would u have a game where u cant die

  • It's a demo of beta beta beta test man...

  • wtf no he was walking on nuzzing at 00:20 argh fuck that CD-i thought also treasure cuz if not for it the youtube poops would become almost as lame as the Phillips CD-i itself, lest we forget.

  • Going by the description, I get the impression that the CDi was a pretty crappy system, bad games or not. It was made after the SNES and even then they can't duplicate the gameplay of SMW on it.

  • If this game actually came farther along into development, we could've gotten a decent Mario World sequel.

BUT WE GET HOTEL MARIO INSTEAD >:(

    SMOOTH ONE, PHILLIPS

  • Why doesn't anyone understand that it's very incomplete?

  • Wow what a peice of mierda.you cant die,oh and mario world DID come before this waste dump.

  • x dude guy Its not a hack!!

  • what a rip off of mario world

  • This game off BEFORE mario world you noob.

  • If you ask me, they should have remade SMB3 and used the graphics in this game. It would have been sweet seeing mario running from the angry sun on those sand dunes.

  • Sadly, ther's actually no complete version. maybe this is a cool game and we can be called him "super mario world 3"

  • y esto que pedo ?

  • Thank god this didn't get released did anyone see the CD-I zeldas

  • vaya engaño de consola

  • STUPID! u cant get hurt. there's no point. its LAME!

youd dont even have 2 try.

  • It's an incomplete and cancelled game in it's alpha stages. OF COURSE YOU CAN'T GET HURT! But that's no reason to call it lame!

  • why are you defending this pile of miserable failure? It wasnt even developed by nintendo.

  • Well he's right, that's no reason to call it lame. The game is in it's early stages, that's why Mario can't die. If you're gonn
