  • @cool80s2 _!_

  • thaNK u !

  • chicago

    :)

  • ...sigh GREATness...ARE you ready to diiieeeeee-, are you-ready-to diieeee3x

  • it was good, but you could redo it on a slightly cloudy day, and work on different time speeds to work with the music

  • yah awesome job! if i may have one criticism its the sea green lettering in the front!

  • This song makes me imagine walking around a huge city as the sun disappears beyond the horizon. Similar to your video, but the city is empty, and I'm the only one there.

    Nice one.

  • Really beautiful. What city is that ?

  • Comment removed

  • chi-town :)

  • hey guys, im not trying to spam, i just made a playlist with every ghost song in order so check it out

  • beautiful video too. love the skyline.

  • thanks

  • love this song. thanks for putting this up.

  • So pretty! Did you film this from a building's window or something? The music is amazing too!

  • from a balcony

  • wow!!!

  • that was beautiful

    thx

  • you're welcome

  • This is my favorite Ghost's track for sure. Transcendent.

  • 3:00- freaks come out at night

  • Why is this downvoted?

  • i am unfamiliar with that term. What do you mean?

  • It only has 3.5 stars, which seems odd for a NIN song/video.

  • I was wondering the same..

  • it's shot from a balcony

  • beautyful.... there is nothing more pure than a starting night....

  • Beautiful. It suits the music perfectly.

  • Awsome job. Its not the difficulty of the shot, but more the vision to set it to begin with and the timing and tempo of the song works in unison with the image. nice.

  • thanks

  • Im not sure which I like more, 1 ghosts I or 2 ghosts I

  • As soon as I heard it I knew it would be my favorite track out of the entire volume. The piano and the vocals/synth in the background are really beautiful.

  • awesome, as soon as i saw this video i thought it was just a still photo and thought that it would be awesome if it was time lapsed.. love it

  • i love this song, and i love this city!

  • wow.

it looks like a whole diefferent place.

  • Dude, I just filmed part of my ghosts video in Chi-Town. Wanna know what's even funnier? You and I are using the exact same song.

  • I actually really like this, and I normally don't like this kind of media. Its almost like watching the city come to life. And it lives at night during the day. Very interesting indeed. Kudos! Also love the song choice as well

  • at first I thought this was lame because c'mon it wasnt hard to make but I like how it leads into the darkness which is Ghosts, nice job

  • Great job. This is the best film of 1 ghosts!

  • Great job. There is just something about the blend of the music and the sight of the sun setting on the city that is entrancing. This is one of the best Ghost videos I've seen.

  • Congratulations,it's a great video. What I like the most is the soft graduation. I didn't see that the image was changing till I moved the cursor quckly. Really nice latent effect.

  • I really dig this video. Great job with it. That track fits very well.

  • obviously he doesn't see the bog picture. i love the song, it's a good concept but a little to redundant

  • im not much for the artsy fartsy type (no offense of course! ;))) but cmon it gets soo annoying. "Wow i see a hundred hidden meanings in this painting!! and i know everything about it because i can depict the 'real' meaning.. blah blah blah" it gets realllllly old

flame my comment all you want, its just my opinion.

  • bookmark this and come back and comment in 10 years. your perception may be the same, more favorable, or less favorable. no flaming necessary. enjoy the journey.

  • lolz

  • I didn't enjoy it at first (about the first 30-45 seconds worth), but as the sun descended I was sucked in. I don't understand why people don't appreciate this. It documents a daily event which almost everyone takes for granted and strips away the noise and scum major cities emit. If you may allow me to critique, this piece would benefit from fades. Perhaps put a fade-in after the first note and a long fade-out (5-10 seconds) as the track ends.

  • Also, this is one of the best I've seen. Thus far everyone is trying to oversaturate with their own unoriginal brand of "art," sometimes the best art is the most natural and subtle. Not a fan of the watermark, but I understand why it's there. Awesome job.

  • thank you for your opinion and critique. The fades would probably be a good idea. Also I would let track 1 progress into track 2 to avoid the obvious looping I did to the audio.

I downloaded the album overnight and was rushed to make/post this before I left for work in the morning and did it rather sloppily. For some reason I just had to get it online so I could show others and tell them about the day the music business shed its cocoon.

  • no. this is not good or creative it needs much much more. to artsy. everyone knows the sun sets is that what you are trying to portray? if so you did it well but it is boring....sorry my opinion is i do not like it....

  • I welcome your critique, but I do not agree that everyone knows the sun sets.

I myself believe the sun is stationary and the Earth is spinning at thousands of miles per hour, but it's just the way I see things.

  • shun the unbeliever, Copernicus.

  • Very nice video man. I'm trying to keep track of the videos submitted to this festival and yours is my favorite so far. I love how it's not trying to give the song a definition like many people. Beautifull scenery that ties perfectly with the song, kudos man, kudos. Hope ya win!

  • thanks for the kind words. I don't think this festival will have a 'winner', but I'm glad it works for you.

  • Nice video. I think that the time lapse is a really good idea for this song, now I will always picture this when listening to the song lol ^_^

  • thanks

  • Trent Reznor is an absolute genius...

  • so are you

  • MAGNIFIQUE.

  • i liked it. it was simple. i thought the whole sunset thing was perfect for this track as well.

  • this is my favorite track off the album. tried to figure what city that is? san diego? nice job but i agree.

it's interesting that you demand credit for your artwork though. it's beautiful no matter what.

  • dude, chicago, sears tower......dude,,,bueller?bueller?

  • only been to chicago once. windy.

  • What's interesting about receiving credit? I'd rather not be somebody's ticket to ad revenue when they download and re-post my videos. I could care less if it was for fun, but I keep finding my videos on random sites that claim to have created them themselves, hence the tag.

  • I liked the video, it really is sad that you have to tag it because of people like that. I completely agree that it's almost necessary, especially for something like this.

  • It was good but you should of had other shots to put in like every 20 seconds or so.

  • Best one I have seen so far. I love your video, really poetic, it's nice to follow the sun until twilight. <3

  • Thats cool, best one i've seen!

  • I loved it!

  • The idea is cool - the tag on the vid is too obtrusive.

  • it can be removed for legit use. Problem is my videos constantly end up on ad-ridden websites with no attribution whatsoever. I'd love to just disable embedding but I don't think that's the best idea.

I also made and posted this video the day after the album came out, and I may recut it and some others for the contest.

  • I really enjoyed it! Beats any of the others I've seen so far.

Did you use the HVX200 to record this by any chance?

  • no. it was recorded with a cheapie 1-chip Panasonic DV cam. I had thoughts about re-shooting it, but I think it should stand as is. Plus, the skyline has already changed quite a bit.

  • If you did re-shoot it you can have the past image as the "ghost" memory of the city. Just an idea. Loved it! =)

  • This is one you'll watch just for the sake of it. I like it.

  • its way to stretched out.

  • Evanmileus

"its way to stretched out for my taste."

there, i fixed that for you.

  • i do enjoy a good time lapse. especially if i live there.

  • Good job! A pretty cool video to relax... 4*

  • Nice

  • Neat

  • If this video was only 20 seconds long or so it would be better. IMO it is too slow. It would be good to be used in a video if it was short.

  • I don't disagree. check my other videos for the one-minute version. i uploaded it about two years ago but it is silent. it stands alone as well, but this song reminded me of it, so i cut it to approximate length.

  • amazing nin rule

  • I enjoyed this, great job.

  • I like the concept...my gf live in Chicago.
