This appears to a be a race issue, and I would believe it from the Miss Universe Organization. But in defense, not all pageants are like that.  A friend of mine, Stephanie Hunt, was crowned Mrs. United States lat year-she is the first african-american woman to hold the title.

A lot of pageants are corrupt and some aren't.

something like happend in 1989. Shannon Marketic was proclaimed Miss Arizona Teen USA btu it was discovered a week later that she did not and handed the title back. She evntually won Miss USA 1992.
