@jacobninja25 sorry, i may have asked a wrong question. my quesitoin should have been if the bullet used was hollow point or fmj. the way the bullet expanded, i think its a jhp.. thanks for the rep.
@narutofanz4 stopping power is a heavily debated subject. basicly it comes down to three things, kinetic energy, penetration, and how rapidly the bullet delivers the kinetic energy it has. which one of those three things is most important though is what people dont agree on. penetration is important because a bullet that doesnt reach vital organs is useless, kinetic energy is important because that is what creates the shockwave u saw in the gel, and the faster the enrgy is delivered=more damage.
it would be worse, the shock would hit the bones and rebound back into the wounded area, instead of being able to flex and spend the energy, the flesh would tear and snap the bones with its own momentum
To clarify - This was not a 9mm round nor any other pistol round. This video is from the Barnes website & its the Triple Shock TSX, 180grain .308cal round fired from a rifle. So if the 308 rifle did not knock this block off the table, neither would the other pistol calibures mentioned. Hope this helps
Note the spiral effect of the spinning bullet and imagine how the sharp edges of the expanded round would damage like a buzz saw. Very good high speed filming
You never noticed the 007 Movies with the spiral mussle pointed at james bond in the begginning of the movie? Of course bullets spin! They even teach you this in history class.
I have been told it can be made using baking gelatin in high concentration and cured in a large bread pan. I haven't done it yet but I am going to try when I get some money.
@DocClark340 Dude just take two packs of gelatin knocks preferred, then add about 3/4 a cup of water. Let it chill 3-4 hours in the fridge. When it has a constancy of jello take it out and fill a sink up with hot water. Place the container in the sink and let it melt for 10-15 minutes. When its done melting lubricate another container and pour it into there. Chill for about 12 hours then when its done it should slip right out.
I wish I had some of that stuff to shoot like on deadliest warrior

Didn't think gelatin would deform a bullet that much. That was some severe mushrooming.

i heard that the bigger the air hole is created by the bullet the more stoping power it had

a .45 or .357 hollow point actually can knock the block off the table
baconator490 2 years ago
That was a .308 a .357 would not knock that block off that table. And a .45 wouldn't either
