@ stuf0071. My fire company will swerve into oncoming traffic like that so that the cars coming from the left of the screen in the video would be able to see us rather than us relying on them being able to hear us.
I wont comment on the speed to get there, because I know the camera can be deceiving, 2 coments I do have, Lay off the Q if you dont need it, and THANK YOU FOR SHOWING VID. AFTER YOU ARRIVE! I LIKE WATCHING THE RIDE ALONGS, BUT THEY NEVER SHOW WHAT'S GOING ON ONCE THEY ARRIVE. 5 STARS JUST FOR THAT!!!!
Did you really need the q the whole time. I guess so. a bird might have flown out in front of you! And the speed limit said 65 you were lucky to push 25. I always pull over for emergency vehicles cuase im a firefighter but i wouldnt pull over for u guys it would take to long for u to pass. We can get on scene put fire out and be home eating pizza before u go enroute.
its apparent that some knuckleheads don't know the difference between city/town and farm rural settings hell at least there was a fire department to respond to the call where i grew up we didn't have one and the nearest ambulance was oh an hour away
Response time is very important just a couple days ago we were dispatched to a grass fire, it was about an 8 minute trip to the location, while enroute our dispatcher advised us it had jumped the road, we arrived on scene it was spreading rapidly with 20-40 mph wind gusts, we protected all exposures but it had burnt up 150-200 acres of crp and hay fields before we could contain it. Our single department covers 284 sq miles 2 brush trucks one engine, a rescue, and a tanker were all on scene
Response time is very important to even the smallest of grass fires. If they spread just like any fire it will get worse. You were not in the truck with them so you dont know how fast they were going. You also dont know if there is other fire agencies on that frequency or even medical. Quit being a douchebag
Why the big deal about the response time? It was a grass fire..no cars involved, no structure, nobody trapped in the middle of it. Why drive Mach 2 to a grass fire and endanger everyone? SAFETY
ok number 1. there is a speed limit, lets drive it.
2. that big of a brush fire & that much radio traffic??? seriously, i could have pissed on that and put it out...
3. if u are going to drive that fast dont run code 3 to the call, i mean come on the 5 yr old in my neighborhood with his tricycle would have passed u giving u the finger...
We werent responding that fast, we were driving very carefully! and took all percautions! Yes we have heard of Brush/Tankers. Station 1 doesnt have a Brush truck and protocols call for all fires in station 1 3 4 5 and 6 zones the Engine goes as well as Brush and Tanker trucks from other stations. Station responded with a Brush truck as well as station 3 and 4
baldric990 a grass fire can turn into more i geuss you are one of the ones that dont care about ur countries fire fighters so dont run your mouth and if you think you can do better go join a fire dept or are you not man enough
Don't get it mounted cuz it makes it that much more real when you can see the camera shaking like the adrenaline in your body as you & your crew race to an emergency YOU'VE have been called to.
Just Keep It Real. Because It's certainly not fake reality. It's real reality. Be Proud of what you do cuz I sure am!
Good Job on the video. Are you just holding the camera? Have you ever thought about making a mount for the camera? I think we have about 10 camera mounts on the units now. It seems to work well for us.
We had the same problem with the dash on our 1st line Engine. I made a mount that secured to the area in front of the dash where it meets the glass and the none flat area. That mount is what made the area flat enough for the camera. Just FYI
love that q.
