A 34 year old white woman wrote. My job does not provide benefits or health care ins. I was in pain for days and went to the Er. I discovered my uterus was full of tumors. I could'nt pay for surgery and because it was now a "pre-existing condition" ins. companies could (and did) turn me down for coverage but because President Obama passed health care reform. I was able to get PCIP ins. and the surgery I needed to get well. Thank you President Obama for helping me live & heal when others said NO.

And yes, there are long waits for elective surgery (although I've never heard of someone having to wait years for it), but if that's really an issue for you then there is still an option of private healthcare

The argument against universal healthcare is greater than just moral disgrace of it: Healthcare is already subsidized, and that is why it is so expensive. When you subsidize something, you remove competition and costs skyrocket. That's what created the housing bubble.

We need a statesman who operates in comfort within the confines of the document to which they take an oath upon entering office. Presidents tend to be authoritarian in nature regardless of whether conservative or liberal. It's about getting past the celebrity personna and finding out about the real person. A 34 year old white woman wrote. My job does not provide benefits or health care ins. I was in pain for days and went to the Er. I discovered my uterus was full of tumors. I could'nt pay for surgery and because it was now a "pre-existing condition" ins. companies could (and did) turn me down for coverage but because President Obama passed health care reform. I was able to get PCIP ins. and the surgery I needed to get well. Thank you President Obama for helping me live & heal when others said NO.

I don't think Rush explained the healthcare issue very well, and it came out a bit heartless.
I think most conservatives dont' understand that Government involvement cripples the healthcare industry and pushes costs up, and THIS is what needs to be addressed.
The Government restricts the number of Doctors that are trained, the amount of hospitals built, drug approvals, insurance plans etc. Then when costs explode - they blame the 'free' market, and call for a Government takeover of the industry

Their Cancer survival rates are much lower than in the US.

And yes, there are long waits for elective surgery (although I've never heard of someone having to wait years for it), but if that's really an issue for you then there is still an option of private healthcare

I don't think that Rush quite understands how strongly he was arguing against himself by telling his story about Tinnitus. Rush was able to afford the care he needed to resume his career due to his incredible wealth.
But for those without that wealth, without his level of health care, what could have been done? That's why health care is too important to leave *only* to private enterprise... Health care allows people to resume their work.

We tried the Bush Tax Cuts... how did that work out for revenue? How come we had a surplus when the Rich paid slightly higer taxes and record deficit after we lowered them? I know on Rush's site he compares CBO projections against revinue after the Bush tax cuts --and those charts prove nothing. CBO projections are fictional estimates
