Sure, people like things they can relate to; however women are not born with longer hair than men, it's a cultural phenomenon. If you gave a girl a boy's haircut and raised her as a boy, she would identify with boy things, if she wasn't aware that they were different from her. What Jacque is saying is that girls do not "naturally" prefer Barbie's dreamhouse or kitchen-related things or baby dolls to take care of, those are social values imposed on the child.

Men and women have different hormones and chemicals in their brains, but these do not determine specific behaviors, they just exacerbate specific emotional reactions.

On the other hand, your behavior supports his views about conditionality of society. I think one of the most neglected parts of Jacque's idea is the part where he argues that his 'ideas' are not final. Although Jacque Fresco makes a lot of sense a lot of the time, I feel he might be off on the whole nurture/nature debate such his believe of gender identity is, for the most part, a result of social learning rather than a biological factor.

Well I would refer him to the interesting case of David Reimer, a baby boy who was turned into a girl by doctors after a botched circumcision by that destroyed his penis. He went under gender reassignment and was raised as a female, but he never identified himself as a girl and in adulthood took his own life. This was known as the John/Joan case.

I'm familiar with that case, but it doesn't have any bearing on what Jacque is saying about gender identity. The roles of girls playing with dolls or being homemakers/liking things pink/wearing dresses etc. are all cultural phenomena. Jacque simply argues that men and women should both be given the same range of experiences and should not be 'trained' exclusively and separately to do different things (i.e. girls should bake, boys should be inventive, etc.)

There's even studies that shows sexual preference has genetic basis and not entirely cultural. So this is where I think Jacque needs to take nature into account for human behaviour and not entirely environmental as he would like to think.

No, you're really missing the point. Firstly, only David Reimer may have known what it felt like to be in that situation. There are hundreds of other factors which need to be considered. He was born with eyes, so he must have known his genitals were different than other children. Also, he did not kill himself BECAUSE of this situation, it's speculated that the death of his brother had a lot to do with it. Youtube doesn't allow long comments but in short; genes don't tell you to play with dolls.
