Respect the bears and give them some space. It would be nice to do some bear hunting in Alaska! ALWAYS carry a suitable rifle while working in the deep timber. However, most bears want nothing to do with man. On the other hand, your wish for fun , travel and adventure will be a reality if you run across a bear with an attitude! --LOL

LOL! That was funny! Could be you never know! Anyway, for the most part, give everything some space. However, when you "want it" go after it and deal with the situation. Bear meat is like pork. Cook it well and enjoy!
