  • whats the song

  • :yaoming:

  • I'm so sad that Yao has retired. If it wasn't for his constant injuries, he would've became an absolute monster. Remember back in 2007, he was on pace to become MVP of the league averaging 25 ppg, 9 rpg, shotting 52% and a ridiculous 87% at the FT line. Yao was a COMPLETE Center, in that he could do everything...who as a C does fadeaway shots? Heck, who at C shoots over 80% at the FT line?

Yao's only problem was his injuries. Shaq even vouches for Yao had he not been hurt.

  • DH12 contributes a lot to his team defence a lot and probably crushes the opponent inside defence as much as Yao does. But in a 1-on-1 match up scenario, DH12 just can't handle Yao's hundreds of offensive moves. On the other end of the court, DH12 suffers from Yao's advantage in height, weight and absolute lower body strength. Thats the problem with DH12 he has so much explosive power but lacked the absolute strength and skills to deal with Shaq/Yao alikes. Lucky for Dwight the two are retired

  • Yao has by far the best shot among the best centers

  • fast don´t lie :)

  • i feel like yao ming doesnt even like basketball. its literally like a job for him. he's just naturally really good at it.

  • song?

  • Dominance level: Giant asian

  • thumps up if you miss yao :(

  • wow pull up jumper by yao starting at 3 point line...dude...1:50

  • best center, no doubt

  • good D by howard on most plays. better O by yao. if they were the same height dwight would win this battle.

  • whats the name of this song

  • whats the song name

  • @jdogg0325 Workin by Young Dre and Good Charlotte

  • I MISS [HIM]...

  • does yao still plays for the nba? idk if he does cause he's always injured

  • @23iPRO He retired. It's sad.

  • @FableSoulja oh i didnt know what thanks for telling me

  • thats good defense tho...

  • but still, you can see the defensive work dwight had put in, in 1on1 situation keeping yao away from the basket forcing yao to shoot less high percentage jump shots and hooks

  • @ASH7388 Yao isn't a dunker he can dunk yeah but even when he could dunk he went for layups but that is good defense

  • Shawn Bradley was7'6, yet he didn't have anywhere near the success of Yao Ming.

  • @ModestScotty Don't forget Manute Bol and Georghe Muresan. They were around 7'7 but didn't have the skills and athleticism of Yao.

  • rename the video....double team dominates dwight howard...

  • @Freei32002 .....

  • Anyone who thinks Yao was "just tall" is a fucking moron. There's a guy named Peewee who was 7'5" who used to play at Rucker Park. HE was "just tall." Yao was a great basketball player.

  • There is a certain Nigerian that seems to have influenced BOTH!

  • 0.52 lol

  • the most versatile 7'6" center ever

  • Yao = Great Wall of Rockets :)

  • thats what happens when rookie meet skills

  • he makes it looks so easy

  • Here you see why people say Dwight Howard's offensive game is unpolished.

Firstly, he fights for positioning and gets close to the basket but labors in the paint too long drawing the double and continuously forces bad turnovers. He doesn't create space using has body frame, instead using slow footwork that wont get him anywhere considering Yao's extension. He's not exceptionally crafty, and highly predictable- reliant on that 1-2 step slow hook. He is great, but he could aim to be better!

  • yao ming has a better post hook then kareem abdul ever had in his prime

  • its kinda sad how Dwight is now the best center in the nba...

  • @chrisevilmonkey well...not necessarily...the howard now is not the same howard u see in this video...the howard now is definitely in the conversation of top 10 centers in the history of the game

but in a match up against a healthy yao, he still has disadvantage cus of the height and weight difference, and the fact that yao is a finesse player with the hooks and jump shot and howard would have trouble on offense due to yaos big frame

  • @Saminem1

I am not too sure what you said has anything to do with what i said...

what i am sayin is the quality of centers in the nba is declining.

from Olajuwon... ewing.. to shaq...yao.. and then now howard,, i just dont see how howard can be put in the same league as those truely great center.

he simply lacks the skills and court vision that those big men had... no doubt he is hard working and strong but i just dont think he process the same talent like those guys. maybe someday..

  • @chrisevilmonkey i was just commenting on that you may be a little too harsh on howard

but i do agree with you 100%..the quality of centers in nba is declining

yes howard probably doesn't stack up to a lot of the best centers in the nba..but his defense has to be in the top 5 among all centers...and he is young, i still believe he will be in the conversation of top 10 centers of all time once hes done

  • so, finally after the millionth time dwight failed to get it in the hoop, did he then realize that yao is 7 ft 6in? lol

  • yao doesnt even look like hes trying, just walks and places it in

  • Gonna miss that Shanghai shake :(

  • 想念姚明大哥啊

  • Fuck Yao owned him.

  • music name ?

  • @TheTiago23 "Workin' " by young dre ft. good charlotte :)

  • I miss Yao and this is from a Laker fan.

  • You need more than strength to destroy "The Great Wall"

  • Dwight Howard got dominated. but dats in 2009. dis 2011-2012 he is way better now.

  • @chuckElegend cuz Yao is freaking injuried all over his lower body

  • wtf was that dw? its like club a baby seal!

  • yes if yao haven't those injuries, he can become best top 5 centers. he is the best center in this 10 years in my mind.

  • dwight got dominated

  • he has that legit hook shot though

  • A skilled DH, and a healthy Yao. Okey no more dream

  • 1:53 That's a legitimate center doing a one dribble pull up jumper. Like what the hell?

  • Yao Ming > Dwight Howard

  • BEST CENTER EVER

  • try to spot yao ming.. not that hard isnt it?

  • dwight howard is so damn cocky just like the majority of professional athletes nowadays

  • ouch, that was ownage

  • for real

howard can't guard or score consistent on the really great centers,do you see dwight hitting those ugly hooks against mourning, ewing, hakkem, wilt and the list goes on

  • Yao was better at the time (2009), but Dwight has improved on his game A LOT since then though.

  • if dwight ever got that little jump hook down he'd be unstoppable

  • i miss yao...

  • no wonder yao dominated dwight...superman got no shooting skills, hes just a strong guy that has a good leap...no matter how high you jump when you got a brick wall that wont let you get up

  • yao is a true basketball player, dwight is just big.

  • @nbaking9999 Yao is bigger though. dun see ur point.

  • @gmwphnehn well that doesnt exclude the fact that dwight is big too. and its obvious that yao has mastered the fundamentals of basketball more.

  • It's so sad to see that health killed Yao's career. Especially that one season when he was averaging 25+ ppg and 10 rpgs and whatever. However the injuries plagued what would've been a spectacular career.

Yao was the most versatile big-man I've ever seen, and I've been around to watch the C's since the 80's onward. The reason is because he had a sick Fade Away shot + the Sky Hook, both were unstoppable AND he was over 80% from the FT line as well, you kidding me?

    My Best Regards to Yao.

  • Too bad Yao Ming's body failed him. The Chinese Olympic team over worked him

  • @bellhound407 He was just tall? You're talking about an 86% FT shooter who could hit pull-up Js. Dwight's entire game is athleticism, literally. There's nothing else. But yeah, Yao's just tall, that's all. Right. Dipshit.

  • @SolidSnakeRules Agreed. Yao's also a good 3-point shooter and a great ball handler for his size. I've seen him make some amazing assists.

  • @SolidSnakeRules

did bellhound407 see the last basket?

  • @bellhound407 explain shawn bradley

  • @bellhound407

You sir obviously dont watch enough basketball.

  • @bellhound407 are you dumb lol. this guy obviously doesn't watch enough of basketball

  • @bellhound407 You really need to watch basketball. Just so you know, a person who's over a feet taller than another has the disadvantage in basketball besides dunking over the person. Yao had more than his height. He had the versatability, intangibility, and a very sick jump shot. Not to mention the fundamentals that many centers these days doesn't have. Yao had SKILL, something D12 didn't have back then. Learn your materials.

  • @davidkkt34 besides dunking and... shooting and blocking!! cmon man you cant say the taller person has the disadvantage what the fuck are you talking about. sure there are some disadvantages to being that tall, but there is a REASON basketball players are stereotyped as the tallest... they are. you should think before you speak.

  • @tehgreatist Don't tell me think before I speak when you have NO idea what basketball is about. First off, a taller person has the disadvantage with his legs. The weight SUPPORTS a player but then a player like Yao weighs over 300 pounds, then there are more loads for your legs. The fact that Yao had FOOTWORK with all the weigh, tells us that not only was he skilled, but he was an overall better player than D12. Shawn Bradley was 7'7 and wtf did he do for his team? You fuckin' retard.

  • @davidkkt34 watch who you call a retard kid. i never said yao ming didnt have skill. i never compared him to anyone else. and i sure as hell didnt mention shawn bradley. all i did was correct your dumb ass statement.

  • @tehgreatist

Lol at calling me a kid when I'm older than you. You are a retard because first off, you went off-tangents, and secondly I still put you on the spot. Good job not answering the my point. Don't ever start shit if you have nothing intellectual to say. R E T A R D. "Think before you say something". You didn't correct me, in fact you made yourself look like a retard, hence the reason why I called you a retard. Fuckin' dumbshit.

  • @tehgreatist

Now let ME correct your retarded ass again. Weight = causes loads on the leg. Height = affects the weight. Weight on legs = Hard to have footwork, and let alone, have a good ability to SHOOT. The reason WHY I mentioned Shawn Bradley was because he was 7'7 and ALL the factors that I mentioned affected him in his gameplay, hence the reason why he sucked. Oh and btw, 6'5 and under is considered SHORT in basketball. Learn your material.

  • @davidkkt34 wait, youre kidding right? because im laughing my ass off. what exactly was your point einstein? and i went off tangent saying height is a good thing in basketball as opposed to being short? you REALLY are retarded arent you? shit i dont want to pick on the disabled so ill lay it out for you: i corrected your statement(the one where you said being tall is bad in the NBA). now i can see you dont like being proven wrong so you resorted to name calling but lets be mature if youre older.

  • Dwight on that game actually did not used at alla any basketball IQ. He repeated that pivot spin he was always doing. No imagination at all...As long as he does not develop any mid-range game (give me a decent face-up shot for god's shake...) he has no luck against smart defenders who can match with his weight . Of course Yao is not any random players, he was one of the greater Big Men ever

  • :yaoming:

  • ill choose yao over howard anyday,, yao can shoot anywhere from mid to the post, howard just put him in the post

  • yao would deffinitly be one of the best but he retired

  • song name please....

  • damn..its wierd seeing someone so tall that does work on dwight..

  • thats the great center in nba

  • Definitely one of the best center if he keep playing... sad

  • howard looks like nate robinson against yao hahaha

  • @miami4championship hahhah

  • @miami4championship funny thing is nate robinson blocked yao once

  • @tee23en i didnt say anything about blocking i said that howard looks small against him

  • Howard's offense skill is too simple.

  • @lining0918 It's the same as Shaq's.

  • Yao is to tall

  • "if he didn't have those injuries, he would've probably been up there in the Top 5 Centers to ever play the game" - Shaq on Yao Ming

  • @DonCorleone87 " HMM HMM HMM Wang Zu or whatever your name is,you want some of Shaq-Fu...come and get it,i'll be waiting for you..." Shaq on Yao Ming

  • @MistaArni that part cracks me up, plus it was right before they first met in game and yao blocks shaq on his first three tries, such drama

  • @DonCorleone87 He surely had the talent for it. You don´t get to see such smooth moves on the post often this days.

  • @DonCorleone87 truth

  • @DonCorleone87 He IN ON THE TOP 5 CENTERS TO EVER PLAY THE GAME

  • @DonCorleone87 Well, the best centers all have injuries, overcoming these injuries made them great. Although Center is the most vulnerable positon to other 4, I don't think Yao is a great player regarding to his contibutions to Rocks especially in play-offs. Actually I am from Shanghai as well, Yao is my hometown hero, but I really doubt it. He chose to be safe outof the court and being rich.

  • @DonCorleone87 I hate how this happens to too many centers.

  • Comment removed

  • who says asians are short ??????

    oh yeah I do

  • i swear yao ming is my favorite center

  • @waynetakata when yao match up with dwight probably yao would beat dwight 5-0 / 4-1 in that categories

  • yao was a bad match up for howard. yao always had his way with him

  • Yao just shut down dwight completely. If Yao and McGrady werent injured so often Houston would been champions twice

  • 1:54 at 7ft6 man weighing 320lbs completed a nice looking pull up jumper off the dribble!!! WOW what skill for a man his size, just imagine if he was 7ft2, sky would have been the limit..

  • dwight had no chance on the hook shot at 0:42

  • if yao ming didn't get hurt so often he would have been great

  • whats this song!!!?

  • fuck i wish i was that tall.....

  • too all you yao haters name me one player over 7'4 that hasn't been a stiff in the nba. Yao is the only exception. Muresan? Bol? Bradley? Nevitt? Podkolzin? Even Rick Smits and Ralph Sampson didn't have as good of career as Yao. Just because Yao is taller than Dwight doesn't mean he has an advantage.

  • @chubbyjenks "just because Yao is taller than Dwight doesn't mean he has an advantage."

    what does it mean then?

  • @chubbyjenks How does he not have an advantage? Just because all the other 7'6" guys didn't have any talent doesn't mean it's not a huge advantage. The only downside to his height was all the injuries he got, while he was healthy, height was nothing but an advantage.

  • lol I thought it was gonna be one play...

  • ok so yao played 3 actual years. the other 6 were bull shit. dwight is definately a better center all around. and yao "dominated" cuz he's fuckin 7 inches taller. jesus

  • @WhateverWorksBro lol years played is what matters huh? Robert Parish best player ever?

  • @WhateverWorksBro question why do you use a better all around for description? Dwight is more athletic and better in the open court but yao is and was the better center. I believe in h2h matchups yao has the adavantage 7-2. Also him being 7 inches taller is part of his skill set just as dwight being more athletic then any other center. If you decribe there actual skill set, yao has better footwork,ft shooter, jump shoter and ability to finish with either hand, dwight is just now learning those.

  • It's so sad to see his career end because of injuries, he was one of the most talented big mans in the NBA. I hope he has success on this new stage of his life, he will never be forgotten.

  • man this song reminds me madden

  • I love how Yao makes Dwight look small

  • @SolidSnakeRules You have obviously never payed attention to a NBA game Dwight averages so many more points and rebounds

    PPG- 18.2

    RPG - 12.9

    BLK- 2.2

    FG%- 0.578

    FT%- 0.598

    so get your shit straight

  • @KIPxPhantum Again, I wasn't posting career stats, I was posting stats from games where Dwight and Yao faced each other. In other words, Houston vs Orlando games where Dwight and Yao played.

  • All you dick biters are forgetting the great height difference and wingspan difference.. Let Yao Ming come back and Howard would baby him now.. That was years ago .. I wanna see that happen now

  • @MrPolarBear18 Yao dominated Dwight throughout his whole career. Even when Dwight got better and was supposedly the best center in the game, Yao was destroying him.

  • Yao is so Slow and still Owns Dwight

  • thumbs up if yao should be called the most dominant over shaq.

  • God evened up the game by giving tall people clumsy feet and the inability to shoot jump shots. God just trolled us with Yao

  • you can hack howard...but you can't hack yao, he'll drain those free throws.....

  • OOOOOO Yao lookin like Kareem on some of those plays ! !

  • OMG I thought it was just going to be like 1 play but it was the whole GAME!?

  • wow shaq and yao gone now dwight is gonna be a beast

  • YAO OWNED DWIGHT! =)))

  • this is the Chinese man

  • @waynetakata I wasn't posting career stats, I was posting stats from games where Yao and Dwight played against each other. Pay attention. You can't just look at someones career stats and decide who's better. The NBA is not a video game. Yao's stats are all dragged down by his last season where he only played 18 minutes a game.

  • so sad he retired...i dont think there's a pure center out there with his shot...or overall skill set in general

  • Are yall really trying to say Yao fucking Ming was better than Dwight howard is now? Dwight is 25 years old also.

  • Dwight disliked this 52 times

  • whats tha song,i wis it was all singin even tho imma die hard rap fan, i wudda preferred, but whats the name of the song?

  • @jknightteen The song is called "Workin' by Young Dre ft. Good Charlotte."

  • booooooooring, bring back Shaq

  • Yao ftw.

He did it for the love of the game, amazing guy, sad that he retired, hope he recovers fast.

  • got to admit yao has a good low post shot and Ds defence sucked

  • Dwight just does not know how to play basketball..look at his footwork, approach, timing. just pukey

  • DH has his talent that he jumps high,

YAO has his talent that he is tall,

    God is fair my man!!!!!!!!

  • @hebyn416 SO DH TALL ISN'T A TALENT?

  • @jasopfja He isn't over 7 feet. He's like average height for a center, so I don't consider it a huge advantage.

  • @hebyn416 not really cause dwight is black.. he has the advantage.

  • Comment removed

  • @hebyn416 its not just height that Yao has. He he's got really good core strength and he has greatpost moves. Plus whenever you send him to the line, which happens often, he has like a 85 or 86% free throw made rate. He was probably the last real centre. People like DH are just PFs that play centre because there arent any anymore.

  • @hebyn416 and yao can fuckung shoot to the ball to

  • Agreed, i wanna know if shaq had same height as him,or if Dwight had his height. Lol useless talk

  • OMFG all of u shut the fuck up yao has 6 inches on every center in the NBA so obviously he will dominate this is fucking stupid

  • @VinnyCoD You can't dominate just because your tall. Jordan was short, yet he dominated. Yao has skill that no other center has. Yao has a far better jumper than other centers. Yao knows how to block without drawing a foul. His post defense and offense are spectacular.

  • @puffie300 Jordan wasnt short he was 6'6 you tard.

  • @ThugLifeJ I'm speaking in context of the people he would go up against. The OP stated that because Yao is 6 inches taller, he is automatically better. Jordan was known to play Small Foreward from time to time and is shorter than most small forewards yet still outplayed them. The average NBA players height is 6"7 so he is still under average.

  • Nice hook from yao there! :D
