Okay, I get protecting his business & his child, which is all laudible; however, he spoke of killing him, & many a fight HAS gone that way. Now, to avoid, on one hand, "possibly" going to jail, but getting off, in court, due to process, or, on the other hand, weighing the possibility of killing someone, especially with intent, & aggravated assault. Portugal decriminalized all drugs and their addiction and drug use rate has been cut in half. It has been a complete success in every way, shape, and form . Get these drugs out of the hands of criminals and leave it up to citizens to disperse them.

Except that it already has improved where it has been decriminalized. It is FRIGHTENING how much safer and cleaner the streets in say, Amsterdam are than those in any large American city. There is no real drug violence there because there are no hyperinflated markets for violent criminals to war over. It's all regulated, subsidized, and the money pumped back into treatment and education rather than jailing more and more citizens for personal use. The results have been amazing!

You're not kidding about the cops needing him on the street. In Chicago, where I'm from, cops more and more have stopped even responding to violent crime calls so they can turn their full attention to drug collars. Many departments, CPD included, depend on the Drug War funding that rolls in if drug arrests go up and violent crime stats go down. The way to achieve both objectives is to avoid violent crime cases altogether or to lean on the victim to let it go. It's disgusting!

Except that it already has improved where it has been decriminalized. It is FRIGHTENING how much safer and cleaner the streets in say, Amsterdam are than those in any large American city. There is no real drug violence there because there are no hyperinflated markets for violent criminals to war over. It's all regulated, subsidized, and the money pumped back into treatment and education rather than jailing more and more citizens for personal use. The results have been amazing!

In Chicago, where I'm from, cops more and more have stopped even responding to violent crime calls so they can turn their full attention to drug collars. Many departments, CPD included, depend on the Drug War funding that rolls in if drug arrests go up and violent crime stats go down. The way to achieve both objectives is to avoid violent crime cases altogether or to lean on the victim to let it go. It's disgusting!

@ryanmail2004 I believe you read me out of context. I was responding to someone who was suggesting that the barber would have had no cause to be angry if the employee were only selling weed. So I suggested that any employer would be angry if you damaged his reputation in the community.
The barber's anger is understandable. I never said that his actions were justifiable. Of course he should have called the cops.

Keep in mind that this barber could have lost everything, his business, his job, and certainly his freedom. Perhaps even his car, and his home to asset seizure. His entire life hung on the stupidity of this one thoughtless punk.
Yes, it was uncomfortable to watch. But there was a lot at stake. This barber's life and reputation could have been destroyed by this punk dealing drugs.
